I was waiting on some Frankies Pizza in old sac and decided to go for a walk towards Evangeline's for some birthday gifts. I stumbled upon this place ! Walked in and did some shopping of locally made items. I love that this place has been open for so long ! I had no idea ! It is filled with different art work from various artists. The staff is very nice. Please be patient with them.

3-28-22 I'm not a museum kind of gal but take me to a craft fair or interesting art guild or artsy shop and I'm fascinated. This was a great place to enter. So many pieces of artwork, whimsy and creativity everywhere you looked. There was a Cinderella like pumpkin turned into a coach sculpture I was admiring but hard to hand carry home without destroying it.Instead I got a glass ballet slipper for Little Sweetie as she's been taking lessons and an embellished perhaps paper weight like thing-a-ma-jig that caught my eye.The woman that rang me up was the president of the collective and she said it was run by artists and volunteers.

I've purchased amazing art from here before. I always check this place out when I am on Old Sacramento. I've purchased a cat shaped clock and a cat painting on canvas before. My most recent purchase is this beaded emerald ring that just matched with anything. It's a new artist in the collaborative. I love their second Saturdays in the summer. The artists works a rotating shift watching and managing the store. You can tell they're really putting effort and working hard to maintain this gallery. Stop by and support small business. This is great first place to own unique art and pieces.

My face lit up when I walked by. I am one of the least creative people that I can think of and this makes me really enjoy creativity. Artists that put their time, feelings, and creativity to express it to the world. This store seems to have been open a long time ago then reopened. From my understanding there is 30 something shop owners there all with their work on display. I don't think this shop should be in old town sacramento and more on K street but that is okay. It is a short walk from DOCO and well worth the walk.

There are so many beautiful pieces from local artist in here! The artists who were working there at the time we came in were very pleasant and didn't mind the kids looking around. I definitely plan to purchase art from here in the future.

A Bona Fide Art Gallery in Old SacramentoSITREPThe Artists' Collaborative Gallery is the oldest artists' cooperative in Sacramento. It is a cooperative of over 30 local artists who bring together their creative products that include jewelry, photography, sculpture and many other mediums of art.SETUPI see the Artists' Collaborative Gallery every single time that I go to the Round Table Pizza lunchtime buffet since it is literally right next door. So it makes for a fun stop either before and/or after I've stuffed my faced with pizza.SOME HISTORYAs the staff will share with you, the gallery has been around more than 25 years and features the work of local artists. These offerings include the media mentioned above already as well as some acrylic paintings, oil paintings, and watercolor paintings. They have some great deals and it is well worth checking out while trooping through Old Sacramento during the lunch hour (like I do) or with family and friends in tow on the weekend (like I also do).THE LOWDOWNDefinitely a stop worth making while hiking around Old Sacramento.

It had been a while since I'd gotten to the Artists' Collaborative Gallery and I was really glad I came again because they have added some new artists to their group. I found many wonderful things there as I always do, from both the new and the longstanding members.

Stopped into this shop while wandering with my daughter this week. Crowds were thin because it was a weekday, but that worked out to customer's favor as artists were available to chat with us. This is a model local artist collective located in the heart of Old Sacramento that features art pieces large and small; sculpture, wire art and canvases, jewelry and other items, all unique and full of character. Open seven days a week, pricing was very reasonable and varied (one can buy themselves a lovely present or make an investment in one-of-a-kind art piece.) We chatted up Mary Lou Anderson, a writer and glass artist who shared information on the local writer's group as she rang up our purchases. An author of two books (The Six Rivers Killer and Not Even A Shadow), her colorful personality made our visit much more than retail therapy. The gallery features the works of several local artists, notably as the oldest artists cooperative in Sacramento, its placement in a historic building (which features informational posters throughout that detail the building's "bones") is more than appropriate. It is a welcome alternative to some of the surrounding candy stores and other touristy traps. Make sure to stop in, you won't be sorry.

A mainstay in Old Sac for years, the Gallery has a nice selection of work by talented local artists who also take turns manning the counter, providing excellent, thoughtful service. I rely on it for jewelry gifts for my wife for those "special" occasions (and the compliments she gets from her friends for my choices.)
