Yet another public pool recently discovered by us that is Uber close to our beloved Casa just like Cottage Pool is.Both are located within the Fulton and Arden Way area and within minutes from our humble abode...This Sac County community pool has so much going for it yet the #1 area of consistent weakness which negatively affects the entire experience is the lifeguards; sigh...In essence it is the lifeguards who run and are responsible for every swimmer within it as well as maintaining a safe environment during its open swim session.Hard to believe that it would be the hands-off approach and turning a blind-eye of all the lifeguards to date; @ this location that would spoil what should be an awesome afternoon spent swimming. The clearly posted "Pool Rules" are simply not enforced by said lifeguards which has resulted in very unsafe and chaotic experiences within the largest pool of two.Instead of swimming I have found myself overly monitoring my daughter as well as myself to prevent injury while in the pool. This in itself is ludicrous as well as unpleasant and is a waste of energy and limited time.Examples: Footballs in the pool are allowed to be thrown to individuals lined up at the diving board and while jumping off of the diving board nonetheless.Stray uncaught footballs slammed into people on numerous occasions who weren't even expecting them as well as small children nor of whom they were intended for; including our daughter. The lifeguard posted at the diving board said not one word as this behavior continued on more than one trip to this pool.To make matters worse the lifeguards stationed around the pools also allowed this football game to continue within the large pool for hours on end which resulted in them taking over the entire pool and made it stressful to swim as who can truly lounge about and even swim when a non-stop game of ill-aimed football is occurring?Precisely... The liability this pool is setting the stage for is mind-numbing at the least. Now onto some statistics:Every Monday is $1 swim days. For 1 buck you can enter the pool and swim during the current seasons hours of operation: 1-4pm; M-F.The rest of the work week it's $3 to gain entry with the same hours of operation except on Saturdays the pool is open from 3-6pm and closed Sundays whereas Cottage pool is currently open on Sundays from 230-530.Good sized water slide which does not require a swim-test prior to using it but does have its own set of rules for its use.Clean restrooms located super close to the pool and on the backside of the diving boards deep end of the pool which is at 10 feet which makes underwater swimming amazingly fun when not being assaulted. The check-in and pay area runs consistently super-slow and it appears it's due to a lack of staff but I don't know. What I do know is that this is an area that is need of improvement and could be very easily rectified if attention was paid to it.Snack bar: They have it but I haven't shopped it as we pack our own refreshments and food along with us but from the pics I've posted here on Yelp their pricing is quite affordable.Every 45 minutes into the pool sessions the whistles are blown & anyone under 18 must evacuate the pool allowing for 15 minutes of adult-only swim time.Normally I wouldn't take advantage of this however at this pool the lifeguards do not monitor the swimming "etiquette" of the under aged making for a battle zone of being kicked, slammed into, jumped on and hit by flying objects as well as body parts so the adult swim has become a favorite of mine at this pool which is a shame. The lifeguards at this location could take a lesson or three from the lifeguards working at Cottage Pool.On a side note who in the hell teaches a kid to swim above water as well as underwater with their eyes shut? It's this closed eye swimming that is on the top two list for other pool inhabitants getting the crap kicked and smacked out of them. Goggles would help immensely as would some basic common courtesy & mannerisms.Yet I digress...Arden Manor Pool is located & surrounded by a cute little park with lots of beautiful shade trees as well as a play area. However it unfortunately doesn't appear to be monitored by security or pool personnel therefore on our trips here we've been approached by panhandlers & less than savory individuals asking for money. Even little kids are doing it. Despite the fact of all the negatives I've detailed above I really do love the nature setting as well as amenities this public pool has to offer & I will still swim here due to its proximity to our Casa & "true potential" but it's a shame really as until a better system is implemented for safety all the way around the County is really selling itself short & doing a disservice to the tax paying citizens who patron & fund it.Water Safety isn't just about the prevention of drowning it also encompasses maintaining a safe environment all the way around...

This place is great for he kiddos. They run a camp for the summer and ALL SCHOOL breaks! My boys LOVE it here. They have so many activities for the kiddos to keep them busy and engaged. All the camp leaders and staff are so warm, engaging, and fun with the campers! Not to mention they stress the importance of sunblock and apply it throughout the day. Summer camp the kiddos have THREE swim days a week! When they come home from camp they are pooped! If you're looking for a place to send your kids for the summer...this place is it! Once a month they do movies in the park!! Super fun! They also provide many programs and activities for the Arden Manor community! Check out their sitewww.amrpd.org

My favorite summer spot to bring the kiddos! Excellent knowledgable, attentive staff, clean facilities, and hometown atmosphere make this location perfect.Sure it's in a challenging area and probably severely under-funded, however, my children absolutely love the staff and activities available. This location is settled in an urban area, which I think adds to the overall positive and well-rounded development of our kids. In addition, Maria (Arden Manor Coordinator) is the absolute BEST at her job; fantastic rapport w the kids and families and extremely passionate. Five stars all around!

Amazing. I love the afterschool program they have at Edison school. All the staff are friendly and you can tell they actually love their job. My daughter loves going to the afterschool program now ever since she started, and they work on activities (school wise) as well as have fun, it's a nice balance!

I live across the street from this park. It is very badly managed. Chairman Warren Harding, on the park board for 40 years has chosen to not follow his own 2009 mission statement. (see Deterding park history, notice The 1953 original mission statement has gone missing!) The park was originally dedicated to the neighborhood for the benefit of everyone to use 365 days a year during park hours. Read the website to find out about chairman Harding using the park for his own purposes and diverting the funds away from the park district two and off Parkland project. What he and the Arden manner parks and recreation board is doing to the park district allowing trees to dry and die and facilities to crumble is a heartbreaking tragedy and a financial disaster for the neighbors as they deny senior citizens uses the park as they had before, make it essentially unavailable for neighborhood children to play and neighborhood families to picnic during vacations, arrogantly blast music so loud it shakes the walls of my house, they have total disrespect and disregard for the homeowners around the park who pay their taxes to support themthen check and see how high and inappropriate the salaries for the staff is and they want raisesThe current situation with Arden manner Parks and Recreation District board is nothing short of a horror show of gross mismanagement.

This pool is located in a neighborhood which I think is helpful for not attracting a huge crowd like Cottage Pool. The park has 2 pools, 1 Olympic size which has ropes up dividing areas from each other and 1 good size pool that is 3 feet to 5 feet in the middle back to 3 feet for smaller kids. They have a waterside and a diving board. On Mondays it is only $1 which is cool. I came with my 3 kids last Monday, and their friend, we all had fun. For 15 minutes during every hour (I think), they blow a whistle for everyone to get out of the water except adults. They give the adults 15 minutes to swim without kids. I don't know how I feel about this but someone told me it's also to give the lifeguards a break so that I can understand. They did allow me to go down the slide with my 4 year old during this time which was really cool of them. The pools are clean, and the area around the pool. I didn't use the restrooms so I don't know how clean they are. The lifeguards seem to be doing a good job monitoring the kids and making sure everyone is following the rules. I talked to a couple of them because I had some questions and they were really nice. There was a group of kids that came with a summer camp type class and they were older and rowdy but we didn't experience any problems. Definitely check it out sometime if you are looking for a pool to take the kids and to entertain them during a hot summer day.
