This is by far the best gym I've ever been to. I go pretty often because it's part of my student fees, but I would actually pay for this place if I had a choice. The machines are top notch and as long as you go during an off hour it's not too crowded. The locker rooms are great, clean, plenty of lockers and personal showers. Also you can check out anything you want for free! I like to go in there and act like I know how to play basketball between classes.

Great facility. Most of the equipment in the weight room is new, however, do not come during the peak hours (5pm-8pm), when it seems people just go to socialize. The basketball courts are well-taken care of and there is always a game going on. I frequent the stationary bikes, and they have several different types (cycling, sit-down, etc).

The ARC is great. I love their group X classes -- zumba and interval training, especially. To me, what really sets the ARC apart is its indoor track. I use it very frequently! It has corners with carpets to do crunches and jumping jacks, making it very easy for me to do circuits there! I've also seen people do squats and frog jumps on the track! it's convenient that they have rooms with open-rec hours. I'm glad that these rooms (the martial arts and dance rooms) have mirrors on almost every side, because I love examining my form when working out! They're also useful for college dance teams. The restrooms are lavish! I really appreciate the hydration station too! They also have showers, which I may (or may not) use in the future. Overall, I'm thankful for the ARC.

They have some really fantastic equipment, especially since the revamp over the summer. I just wish it wasn't so crowded! You need to hit the gym at exactly the right time otherwise the equipment you want (especially the ellipticals, treadmills, and stationary bikes) will be overrun. They have really fantastic group classes for those that prefer that kind of atmosphere. (I'm partial to the Zumba and circuit training classes myself.) And the price for unlimited classes is cheap, i.e. less than $15, which makes it totally worth it even if you only go once or twice a week.

The only thing not giving the Arc its final star would be how crowded it can get and usually gets. This gym is enormous and was recently upgraded with new weight machines but can't always handle the rush of college students coming in for their daily workout. The arc does offer great and affordable group exercise classes, indoor rock climbing, an upstairs area with additional cardio machines and even an indoor track. Great fitness center--but you just have to plan out the right time to stop by.

This is one of those places that I hesitate to review for fear of retaliation. The program is run with a mob mentality and not with the students' best interests in mind. I actually would rather give it two stars but I don't want to arouse suspicion. I am not reviewing the facilities I am reviewing the administration and it is times like these that I enjoy my anonymity. The two stars I give go to one person in particular who has been very understanding and helpful through all I've had to put up with. The blank stars go to everyone else in that department.
