As Anchor and Tree Coffee Roasting continues to settle in and grow it's becoming a staple for my coffee needs. It is now all Anchor and Tree Coffee Roasting- including the cafe side that was previously run by Burnside Coffee (they now have their own location on K street) and the menu has been updated to reflect this.I've always found street parking easily in the area and it's a great spot for meetings or to hang out with friends. There's a lot of natural light and plenty of seating. There are tables, benches, window seating, a couch and a really cool wood table. They roast coffee on site and it makes the whole shop smell amazing. They sell bags of their coffee as well as all the options in the cafe. They also have some food and they carry other local products like jams, hot sauce, art and more. The owner and staff here are really friendly as well and are happy to answer any questions.

I've been to Anchor and Tree a few times in the past through events and when Burnside Coffee was here. I think I find myself coming in more frequently than before because of the ambience and the chill vibes. It doesn't feel rushed, packed (or at least when I come) and I feel I can relax to enjoy my morning. They roast in house and love that they are environmentally friendly. Absolutely love all their coffee beans and their latest drink creations. I've had both the iced & hot version of the peach whiskey latte. And I gotta say, I think I like the iced version better. Oat or whole milk is standard which you don't see often because sometimes I feel like I'm being punished for being dairy free (not by choice). Overall great place and I know I'll be back.

Great service. I was guided through the menu, then after being so well educated to make an informed choice between so many creative and well-thought out choices... had the barista choose for me. Well, I made him choose two for me. Yes, just for me and both espresso drinks were fantastic. Smooth, just the right amount of sweetness, and subtle flavor combinations that, like any great work of art, makes you think and keeps you thinking.I also had a "fig, prosciutto, & goat cheese galette," a sourdough based kind of pastry. Also completely fantastic. Both the espresso drinks and the pastry are easily the best of their kind I've ever had.Even the cups are well thought out, too--clever. Built in, slightly extended sippy spout means I can get the coffee to hit my old taste buds directly without staining my old teeth along the way, all without sullying the environment, or my style, by using a straw.Keep up the good work!

I've been meaning to try Anchor & Tree ever since I saw they had a storefront! (Before they had a brick and mortar, I had the opportunity to try some of their whole beans from a Yelp event and really enjoyed the coffee.)Like all downtown businesses, I don't love finding parking, but it wasn't too hard to find nearby street parking. The interior is clean & nicely decorated, featuring local art for sale. I came in couple times during their reopening week (January 1-7, 2025). The first time I tried a latte. I also bought some beans as a gift. When I was looking at their menu again later that day, I questioned why I didn't try any of their signature drinks - they sounded so good! So being addicted to coffee, I had to get back ASAP. This time I tried the Dirty Rose Chai Latte and the Passionfruit Honey Americano. (They have oat milk at no-up charge.) Great drinks, but even better service. The service is genuinely welcoming and friendly. They are very good about making what they stand for known (zero-emissions, LGBTQ & locally owned). Definitely a great small business in Sac that I will love continuing to visit to fulfill my coffee needs.

Great service right off the bat. Best setup, with an onsite automated coffee bean roasting machine, various beans for grinding, and plenty of seating. We got a hot vanilla latte with Oatmilk. It tasted great. I forgot to take a picture, but the recyclable-ready cup was super nifty and had this "fold to drink" process. Check out the video of the roasting machine. Definitely worth returning for!

My biggest takeaway from Anchor and Tree is that the people who own and operate the place truly know and love coffee (and what they do). It's evident in every detail and every menu item!We first tasted some of their coffee at a booth at a holiday showcase, and I both loved how much Donovan knows and cares about coffee and roasting. The different varieties were amazing to taste test. I then visited the store and saw it in person. The décor is eclectic and inviting. I opted for one of the pre-made coffee drinks (meaning they suggest a drink instead of me flavoring it myself). I'm glad I trusted the process, because the drink was delicious! If you're in the area, definitely give this shop a try!

Great coffee place and I also love its support of other small businesses. Service is fantastic! The barista is friendly and knowledgeable and gave really amazing recommendations. The owners are super nice. One of the co-owners Donavon saw me interested in the place (taking pictures and wandering). So he was super kind to give me a tour and introduce me to a lot of fun elements of the place.I have a cold shaken cappuccino with 100 Grand Bar coffee. It's so smooth and well balanced. For food I got the fig, prosciutto, goat cheese galette. They get pastries from a small baking business and this pastry is sweet, savory, buttery and very delicious.Other than great coffee and great vibes. The co-owners feature 35+ other small businesses. Their products, art, even the tables are for sale too. Truly a place that supports local. The cafe pup is so cute too. Really adds a smile to everyone. I can't want to come back and try more!

Looking to shake things up and try a new coffee shop, I made my way downtown to Anchor and Tree coffee. As others have mentioned, parking can be a little bit tricky as it is downtown street parking, but I managed to snag a spot. The space itself is very minimalist and modern. It has a very fun aesthetic and displays a variety of local artists and their work. I decided to try a salted caramel oat milk latte. I really appreciate that they do not charge for oat milk, because some of us cannot control the fact that we are lactose intolerant. While I was there, I also spotted a tasty looking tomato and pesto Galette and decided to give it a try. I love that they serve all of their products in compostable containers, and the coffee cup itself was definitely a unique experience. The latte was delicious and full of flavor without being overly sweet. And the Galette was so savory and satisfying. I will definitely be coming back to Anchor and Tree coffee in the near future.

Such a vibe. Great people working there, willing to listen to you and make you the best darn coffee you can dream up. The galettes are fun! Would recommend the fig and prosciutto one, pairs perfectly with a cappuccino. Plus the to-go cups are awesome and 100% compostable

I came to Sacramento to look around and do some photography, but first, coffee! I found this place on yelp and decided to give it a try because they had fairly unique looking drinks!I couldn't really decide, so I ordered the Smoked Peach Whiskey Latte and the Passionfruit Americano. The latte was delicious, and what I loved was that the flavors, while definitely all there, were mild and din't overwhelm. The passionfruit americano was not my favorite, but that's because I apparently don't love americanos (too strong for my taste buds) - that said, the notes of the cofermented beans were definitely there and very unique. After walking around for about an hour, I decided I should get one more drink for the road, so I tried the dirty rose chai latte and it was delicious! Again, really flavorful without being overwhelming.Full disclosure, my first two drinks took a little longer because I came in during a rush (the chai latte was much faster), but the service was so lovely and they were really nice, so truly, zero complaints! Plus, this really doesn't feel like the type of place you rush in and out of! If I lived here, I could absolutely see myself getting cozy on the couch or at any of the tables, and enjoying a book! They clearly take a lot of pride in their operation, and took the time to tell me all about the beans and their process! Truly unique offerings and I do love the pride they take in everything they do. I'll definitely come back so I can try more of the unique drinks!
