Food was good, a bit on the pricey side..and portions were on smaller side. But it was good..Service... Not so good ..Do not get bella as your server.. she was very curt, and somewhat rude when we had questions about food or menu..she also did not come and CK on us during dinner, which I thought was unsat...I definitely would not want to sit her her section again..

Came here on an impromptu visit with my family. 3 adults and child. We were seated and it took something like 10+ minutes to get our water alone. We ordered our food and after about 40 minutes I had to ask the waiter what was going on and how much longer would it be. He told me 15-20 more minutes, to which I told him to please pack it up Togo because we could no longer wait. The wait staff was barely apologetic and barely seemed to mind that we waited nearly an hour for our food. We took the food home and it was really not worth the $90 we spent on three plates of pasta. And was definitely sullied by the poor in-restaurant experience. I can understand the Italian ethos of taking your time but this was wild. I try to have as much grace as possible in these scenarios but this definitely feels like a mistake to have come here. Very unlikely to ever return.

Food was good (not amazing), but the service was neither amazing nor good. Our cocktails never arrived to our table, and we couldn't tell our server because she never came back to check on us after we placed our order. My husband asked for Parmesan cheese twice (from two different service staff) before he finally managed to get the attention of the-person-who-seemed-to-be-most-in-charge and explained about the cheese and drinks. The cheese finally came (when we were two bites from being done eating our meals), but we never did get our cocktails. Our original server never did come back to our table after we ordered, though she jetted back and forth multiple times in the hour we were there. We finally flagged down the-person-who-seemed-to-be-most-in-charge again to ask for our check. He returned with an apology for our drinks never arriving (with no explanation why), and comped us one of our entrees. While it was a nice gesture to make up for the bad experience, we didn't want free stuff. We were celebrating our wedding anniversary, and we were expecting a memorable evening and meal. It was memorable alright, but not in a good way. I can say with 100% certainty that it is very unlikely we will ever return to Amore Mio.

This restaurant is a tiny, cozy bistro serving up authentic Italian cuisine. The owner/chef hails from Italy. The bistro is set back from Main Street down a pedestrian walk way. I dined here a couple of months ago. Since it was for a reserved dinner party. I got to taste a variety of dishes, family style. The regular menu is by single serving size entree, no family style servings. They offer gluten free pasta dishes. Most of the pasta dishes contain dairy. The table ordered lemon chicken and gnocchi in bolognese sauce for the lactose intolerant folks. The menu stated the lemon chicken was made with a white wine and olive oil based sauce. But the sauce looked and tasted creamy with no noticeable lemon flavor. The sauce tasted very similar to the potato gnocchi del norcino white cream sauce. The chicken was a bit difficult to cut through with the knife that was provided. The knife cut like a butter knife. Also instead of the gnocchi in bolognese, the dish came out as gnocchi del norcino with cream sauce. The cream sauce was rich and creamy, it was yummy. I gotta say, this place is tiny. The tables are set really close to each other in the main dining room and in the semi-private room. Tight squeeze. And when it's a full house, it gets loud in there.

If you are in the area during these colder days please remember to make a resy! They are super busy and you will end up sitting outside. The great thing is that they have blankets and a heater that they can bring outside but it still does feel a little chilly as the night goes on and temps drop. Aside from that, the food is amazing! portions are really solid and you will have enough to take home with you. the bruschetta is a must! the bread was not too hard and easy to bite into which is usually the reason i dont order it but this was really great. cant wait to be back!

Delicious Tuscan Soup, hot fresh bread, very good Sangiovese! Hubby had the classic lasagne; it too was very good. Our server was so nice and accommodating- hubby loved the extra special dessert wine with the added Italian cherries. Very sweet, old world atmosphere with light, bright decor. I miss my beloved Cafe Luna . Happy to still enjoy the same space and good vibes! We will definitely be back.

The owner lady was fabulous. The restaurant was small and a bit tight. Traditional Italian style and flavor. Unexpected "ethnic" food in a small gold town known for hanging people during the gold rush! We recommend eating dinner there!

All I can say is WOW! This beautiful, little family owned bistro is tucked in the back of a small "mall" of shops along Main Street. Not to be confused with the "other" Italian restaurant whose big sign is so readily seen from Highway 50. We were looking for an authentic Italian restaurant to celebrate a birthday and originally mixed the two up. But after reading the reviews and having Guy Fieri's stamp of approval on it - we were anxious to try it. The Caprese was fresh and tasty with the perfect mix of oil and vinegar. Next, we tried the bignets di carciof fritti con ripieno cremoso, which was just the right amount of cheese in an appetizer. For our meals, I had the farfalle pesto pistacchio e gamberi (which was to die for) - I loved the sauce, and my co-diner had the maccheroni a carbonara. This was the best carbonara they had ever tasted - and in their words, you can tell the quality and authenticity of an Italian restaurant by their carbonara. (I agree)Anyway, Amore Mio's freshly baked bread is amazing, the service superb and the ambiance is unforgettable. The cannoli I had for dessert was fresh, had a medium firmness, perfect texture and truly imported shells, straight from Rome! The owner, Simona, has only been in the US for three years and has taught herself English to adapt and become one of the most successful female entrepreneurs I've known. The server, Sierra, is passionate about her job and loves to share Simona's heartwarming story. This is definitely a place to come for a romantic date, a celebration or a high quality family meal. I will absolutely come back and try other things on the menu, because there were so many choices and everything looked amazing. Next time you're in the mood for authentic Italian cuisine, please give Simona and her staff a try... You won't regret it.

We dropped by after skiing at Tahoe and it was the best decision ever! It's a small, cute restaurant tucked away in the back of a little alleyway. The staff was so friendly and accommodating, even setting up an extra table for us even though we didn't have a reservation. The food was delicious too! The bread was warm and super soft with a crunchy crust. I highly recommend the cioppino!
