The Asian American & Pacific Islander Night Market is the best celebration of AAPI Heritage Month in the Sacramento area! This once a year night market celebrates all Asian American and Pacific Islander culture with local food vendors, retail vendors, and other vendors that are either owned by AAPI small businesses or has a focus towards AAPI culture. This year, 2023, was the second year in a row that the AAPI Night Market took place. I was able to attend the AAPI Night Market both years (last year and this year) and each year has been a success! It's a fantastic way to celebrate and showcase the talents and flavors of the Asian & Pacific Islander culture! First, the ticket to enter the night market is $25 for general admission. You want to get a ticket early because they sell out. Second, the night market is located on Capitol Mall between 3rd and 6th street. There is street parking in the area (might need to walk a little) but you can also buy a parking spot (much closer) through park whiz. Third, you get a nice AAPI reusable bag with a few items inside upon entering. This year, the content of the bag differed from bag to bag. Fourth, the food vendors! There are sooo many delicious food options! Too many to list but here are some - Azayaka Japanese Fusion, Blue House Korean BBQ, Boba & Bites, Bubble Cone, Cafe Phe Ru, Fresh Off The Boat, Hella-Halo, Hanai, Kalani Kakes, Taiwan Best Mart, Oto's, Sugar Bar, Namaste Foods, and Kebab Guys. Fifth, the most charming retail vendors - Made by April-Lynn, Sun Kissed & Co., and many more! We got four glass cups and straws from Made by April-Lynn. There were also many booths where you could spin a wheel and win a prize. Sixth, the entertainment! With a focus on AAPI culture, there were bands and performances that were perfect for this event. I really enjoyed the cultural performances - taiko drums by Koyasan Spirit of Children Taiko, the dance by Sinag-tala Filipino Theater, and the lion dances by Honor Kung Fu. There were also performances by East Wind Band, Ru Areyou, Noodles, Audrey Nuna, and Joyce Wrice. This year's VIP section had food sponsored by Frank Fats, wine from Acheson Wine, beer and flavored sake, a whiskey tasting and chocolate pairing, as well as soda and water. Last year's VIP section had tuna sashimi from Kru! I definitely missed their presence this year. The AAPI Night Market celebrates 16 different Asian cultures and Pacific Island cultures. It's the biggest fundraiser for the Sacramento Asian Pacific Chamber of Commerce and they do a fantastic job of organizing this great cultural event for the Sacramento community. Thanks to all of the great sponsors that contribute to making this event so amazing and putting AAPI culture in the forefront. I would highly recommend supporting all of these local AAPI businesses.

complete rip off ! no parking!they charge me and my family to come visit a cultural market where i then have to pay more ! for food and asian crap ? i go to events in downtown Reno for free and i spend money as i see fit on food and other items plus parking is FREE! To be charged a steep entry fee is a waste of money! PARKING IS NOT AVAILABLE AND THERE IS PARKING FEES. Dont waste your money. it's a rip off and the food prices are ridiculously priced as well. just go to a nice restaurant like Mikuni and screw this event. a complete rip off !!! Organizers should be ashamed but they are slimy pigs like Gavin Grusom.
