Soup dumplings were OUTTA THIS WORLD! This isn't fancy, it's a walk up and order and take your number to your table. That said, LOVE that the kitchen is glassed so you can see your order being made fresh. The pork soup dumplings were packed with flavor, and were well priced, the bbq bun was a little wetter than I preferred but we finished those too. The pan fried pork dumplings were small and ok. Not sure I'd get those again.Easy to dine with small kids, will be back when I'm the hood looking for an easy bite.

I liked that the restaurant was clean, service was quick, and ordering was easy at the self-serve kiosk. The dim sum itself though was not comparable to the dim sum I've had in south sac or anywhere else unfortunately. We ordered the siu mai (pork and shrimp dumplings), shrimp dumplings, and chicken chow mein. The dumplings were small and not flavorful. However, the sauces they provide at the table are good, so that helped make the shrimp dumplings bearable. I didn't like the chicken chow mein either. If you come here, I recommend coming in groups of 4+ if you can, because you can only order the dumplings in quantities of 8 or so (and the price reflects that). I wish we were able to do small orders of 3 dumplings like at other dim sum restaurants, that way we could have tried more things.

Returning back a year later to change my rating because they put regular pork xiao long bao back on the menu, instead of only the shrimp/pork. This place has the best pork xiao long bao I've ever tasted, so that was a long year for me considering I would order them at least once a week. But seriously, whatever sauce they use for the dumplings is amazing, no other place has anything like it. I'm very glad to return to my favorite dumpling place

Wonderful experience! 88 Bao Bao in Rancho Cordova opened just about 2 years ago. The restaurant is right next to Pets Mart on Olson Drive which has many epicurean choices but Bao Bao is unique in that it has relaxing background music with a big screen tv with tranquil calm ambiance adding to the relaxing atmosphere. The kitchen wall is glass so that you can watch as your meal is prepared- a unique experience! Orders are brought to your table hot and freshly prepared, and there are pictures so you can get an idea of what you may want. Personnel are professional, polite and hospitable. Take out orders are freshly made so calling ahead would save some time. This was a great find on YELP and we will be returning!

First time to restaurant. Ordered chicken chow mien, barbecue pork buns and gyoza. All the dishes were very good. Lots of chicken in the dish. The steamed buns and gyoza very very tasty. The sauces that went with the dishes were excellent. Very busy traffic area and not too much parking available. I will definitely be going to this restaurant again.

This is a cute place in the Olsen Dr area beside Ramen 101. Icame here to try their menu a few times and all the staffs here are always so sweet and kind. Their menu selection has some Taiwanese dishes and their Shanghai meat roll was so good too. The Xiao long bag soup dumplings were so cute and nice flavor with their dipping sauce of soy sauce and vinegar. Their other steamed dumplings were all good too. This place is a cute date spot as its small and intimate setting. II would definitely come again. ^-^

Yay! So happy to have a dim sum place nearby! 88 Bao Bao is a small shop with a few tables. Can order dim sum, noodle soups, pork buns etc from a kiosk or at the register. Didn't wait too long for our orders. Beef noodle soup had good flavor and was nice and hot for a cold day! Har gow and pork shumai are my usual faves which were fresh and hot to our table. I didn't enjoy the chili won ton as much as the other dim sum. Not sure, but it tasted a little bit like peanut sauce was added into the chili sauce. Also ordered steam pork buns which were also hot and fresh! Happy to grab some dim sum on a Sunday afternoon. Will definitely go back and try other things. I'm already craving more shumai and har gow!

Craving dim sum, we stopped into 88 Bao Bao for dinner. Restaurant has take out as well as dine in options. We ordered during our visit-Bbq pork buns Fried shrimpShumai Pork lumpia Pork potstickers If you're looking for authentic dim sum then I wouldn't recommend dining here. Food was okay but a bit pricey. Servers were helpful and the restaurant itself was very clean.

The dishes we ordered were just okay. The noodles weren't the best. We added chicken but there was hardly any when the dish came out. The wontons were in a weird sauce I couldn't figure out. It tasted somewhat peanut buttery with chili oil, maybe. The soup dumplings were probably the best thing we ordered. We also got the sesame balls (not pictured) and that was good too - an order came with 8 minis. The garlic sauce they have at the table was tasty! Overall, it was worth a try.
