We were influenced to stop by this place, with grand hopes for some delicious ramen. My group ordered: spicy miso ramen, black garlic ramen, and both versions of the Jiro ramen. FOOD: Sadly we were ALL disappointed with our ramen. The Jiro ramens tasted watered down, and the other two seemed to lack salt or something - we couldn't put our finger on it. The chashu pork was not melt in your mouth like other places. That said, the apps were probably the highlight - possibly because we were starving (karaage and edamame). SERVICE: our waitress was fine but wow, the food took forever to come out. Mind you there was only one other table! Each of our ramen bowls came out at different times such that by the time the 4th bowl came out, the 1st person to get their bowl was already done. It was incredibly slow and poor pacing. There are so many other ramen spots in EG, I really needed to write an honest review so that others didn't experience what we did.

8 hours is a new ramen spot in the same plaza as Walmart, T4, coconut Elk Grove, and Fuji sushi buffet. It's a small restaurant with a small menu with ramen, appetizers, and more. I started off with the chicken karaage. I like the salad that comes with it and love how the karaage is crunchy. For the ramen, you get to slightly customize your noodles (thin ramen, normal ramen, udon) and broth (normal, half-half, one and half). I got my black garlic ramen with normal ramen, and normal broth. It had great flavor, although it was slightly oily. The service was great, and I like that the restaurant is clean. This place is a solid 3.5 imo.

Newly opened in the Walmart plaza right off of the Elk Grove Blvd exit. They have a small, yet customizable menu. Instructions to order are at the bottom from how thick of noodles you want to how thick you want your broth to be. I find this helpful as many people have different taste profiles/preferences.The area and ambiance is small and cozy. Great for solo diners or lunch dates. The food itself is simple and satisfying. I wasn't able to try any of the deep fried food at this time as their deep fryer was broken, but I'll come back to give it a try next time.

Wanted ramen since we had just gotten back from Japan and we were craving it! This place not only is located off 99 it had lots of parking available. This spot is new and we were excited to try it. The food was great we got a spicy miso and a Regular miso ramen along with some gyozas my fav! Price was good but I will say the portions felt a little small I was a little hungry still after. The place was clean and had really cute decor! I'll be back to try a different ramen for sure!

We had their ramen bowls. The noodles were great. Their Chicken is really impressive. They sous vide the chicken so it stays juicy instead of dry. The broth was delicious, not too salty for my preference. My hubby and I really enjoyed our bowls. The restaurant is small, but you can go to their place when it's not rush time. We will come back again. The plaza is always with lots of parking. The staffs here were friendly.

Love places that are near my house & 8 hrs Ramen popped up today. This Ramen spot is one of the newest to open on EG Blvd. Before coming, I've read good reviews so we made that hike of 3 miles from the house....long trip! It's a remake of another Chinese restaurant that didn't last long. Interior is small but cozy with about (5-6 booths , 3-4 tables).Menu had their own unique Ramen names, we opted for the Yokohama Ramen, veggie Miso: Both were tasty with rich broth, toppings were good but the size of the Bowl was on the smaller size for $18/Yokohama RamenOverall, I would come back but not as the first choice. Service was good with lots of parking spots.Bon appetit

Stumbled across 8 Hours Ramen while in the area and realized that it was fairly new and wanted to give it a try. The location is fairly large with a good amount of seating and luckily it was not as busy so we were able to get seating immediately (we went on a Sunday at 3pm). The menu is not overly filled with options but has a good variety of items to choose from. We ordered the Spicy Miso along with an order of gyoza's. The service was good and the food came out quickly. The location is very clean and they have a large bathroom in the back available to use as well. I look forward to going back soon.

My husband haven't stop talking about trying 8 Hours Ramen. It's not a big place but we came early enough that there are still tables. It looks like a family run, mom and pop shop. I'm baffled by the options for soup base flavor level. How do you determine half, normal and one & a half? I guess it's my fault for not asking the waiter upfront but we each purposely selected different options and we can't tell the difference. Overall the ramen was just okay. The soup based was bland. Nothing memorable except that it was $18 each bowl. To be fair, I've had really really good ramen in my lifetime living in NYC previously and traveling around the world. The appetizers were better than I expect. The squid leg and chicken karaage was nicely deep fried and not overly battered. I would skip the fried oysters. My husband showed our waiter the 15% off promotional discount for soft/grand opening, even though he suspect that might have been expired. Can't hurt to ask. The waiter checked with the manager or boss and said it was okay and they will honor it. When we got the check at the end, the discount wasn't applied. We just pay and left. No point in mentioning it again.

If you're a ramen lover, 8 Hour Ramen in Elk Grove is an absolute must-try! This cozy little spot has quickly become one of my favorite places to indulge in a steaming bowl of comfort food. The star of the show here is, of course, their broth. You can taste the dedication and care in every sip--rich, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. It's no wonder it takes 8 hours to prepare! I ordered the Tonkotsu Black Garlic Ramen, and the depth of flavor was incredible. The noodles had just the right amount of chew, and the toppings--melt-in-your-mouth chashu pork, creamy ajitama egg, and crispy garlic chips--were on point. The service was just as impressive as the food. The staff was friendly, attentive, and genuinely seemed to care about ensuring every customer left satisfied. They even took the time to explain the menu and make recommendations. The ambiance is modern and inviting, with a clean, minimalist vibe that makes you feel comfortable while you enjoy your meal. It's a great spot for a casual lunch or dinner, whether you're dining solo or with friends. One small tip: it can get busy during peak hours, so either come early or be prepared to wait a bit. Trust me, it's worth it!8 Hour Ramen is a true gem in Elk Grove, and I'll definitely be coming back to try more of their menu. If you love ramen, don't sleep on this place--you'll be dreaming about that broth for days!
