Ryan Bros City Heights

This place has coffee flights! I love that. Very date-like experience to split one with your love (or your friends I guess haha). At $16, it's pretty steep though, because the portion sizes are very small. In the flight today (from left to right in my photo) we had an affogato with a haagen-dazs milk chocolate almond bar, a Mexican-inspired latte with horchata and cinnamon, a passionfruit espresso tonic, and a strawberry latte. My ranking from best to worst: affogato, horchata latte, strawberry latte, passionfruit tonic (which tasted pretty awful like medicine). Service was friendly and the space inside was nice, but they really need to turn up the AC as it was a little stuffy and hot in there! One other thing, we came ~2 hours before they were about to close, but it smelled STRONGLY of cleaner (reminiscent of pine sol)-- I really don't like when extremely strong smells are in the air when I'm about to enjoy something aromatic like coffee. Maybe they can reserve using such strong cleaning products closer to closing time.

Let me start by saying, I'm going to give Ryan Bros another try because there was enough to like about it to go again and update my review.So I sent in a mobile order a little before 10am on a Sunday (understandably a busy time for a coffee joint) and headed on down. Parking is tough (street parking in the neighborhood) but I managed to get lucky.When I got in, the line was to the door. Again, 10am on a Sunday. I was a little surprised that there was no indication of where one might grab a mobile order, so I waited in line (first world problem, I know). As I waited I had a nagging fear that my order was done and sitting somewhere losing steam. After a not unreasonable 10 minute wait I get to the front and the very polite and very busy staff collected my order and I was out the door.The coffee wasn't hot anymore, but nothing a microwave couldn't fix and my breakfast sandwich (Jack's pig) was missing the egg I was charged for. There may be a way to request a refund, like when your Door Dash order is missing food, but I can't figure it out for the life of me.The coffee and food was definitely tasty, just wish it was correct to order and still hot. Next time we'll probably go and dine in versus order online.

Our barista did a wonderful job making the drinks and explaining them to me. Best coffee flight experience I've ever had. 1 shot of espresso in each drink.

Decided to stop by here to study and it was great. They don't have a huge space but enough where I could sit and study. It does get a little loud in here but not a huge deal. I ordered an horchata latte and their $3 burrito. It was more of a quesadilla bc it was so tiny... I've been here once before to get their iced coffee flight and definitely recommend. I know right now they aren't offering it but it'll start back up on February 1st! Only reason it loses a star is because parking can be a little chaotic! Besides that everything else was great!

Came here for the first time and I really enjoyed the coffee! The only reason I wouldn't give it five stars is because the location deters me from going again. It's a little south of the SDSU area where I never really go.Our coffees were really good and I loved that it was on the sweeter side. Definitely would be wary if you're someone who enjoys more bitter and straight espresso drinks, but if you like a silly little specialty drinks like me I definitely recommend!It's so cozy inside too, it wasn't crowded at all. Kind of wish I discovered this place during my college days to study at.

When my boyfriend and I walked in, we weren't greeted right away despite being seen, and had to wait several minutes before our order was taken at the counter. Other than that, everything else was great.I was here for the seasonal flight. It was yummy with a nice variety of winter holiday coffee drinks. I'm still bummed that I missed the Halloween flight, but I now plan to be here whenever a new flight comes out. Service was friendly with the barista explaining what each drink was. I shared the flight with my boyfriend, but I enjoyed it so much, that I'll most likely get my own from here on.The flight: Egg Nog Latte, Peppermint Mocha, Gingerbread Latte, and Peppermint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream Affogato.We were hungry too, so we each had a turkey sandwich (which comes with your choice of potato chips or side salad). I will note, and it's not a bad thing really, but if getting sourdough bread, don't expect Boudin-level sourdough. The turkey sandwich was delicious with highlights being the chipotle mayo and hearty slices of bacon.Ambience: This place is super cute and clean. Nice, pleasing decor. Great place to enjoy on your own or with one other person, not so much with a big group. We easily found parking one block south on Highland and Wightman.

THIS PLACE IS DOG FRIENDLY!Had to plug that at the top for my fellow pet parents. They gave my pup, Charlie, a pup cup too! It was great to have an indoor spot with AC to bring my dog. It's not a huge place to please be mindful of your pet and it's leash - we don't want any trip hazards or dog incidents to ruin this great pet friendly option!This is a cute coffee shop nestled in City Heights and is a perfect place to get some homework done. It's right off El Cajon Blvd so you'll need to find side street parking.You may have seen their Coffee Flight trending on Instagram - which is exactly why I chose to come here. Their seasonal coffee flight offers 4 different drinks that are sure to give your taste buds a good buzz. The Summer menu is geared more on the sweet side, but they were all so refreshing. I can't wait to see what they offer in the Fall!I also ordered a croissant sandwich to soak up all of that espresso I downed and it was the perfect sized portion to fill me up but not make me bloated. Their breakfast options come with either a bagel or croissant, which is a great touch. I saw multiple people come in to get a fresh pastry out of the case. Not seeing many left, I'm presuming that they are delicious. Swing by this cute little coffee shop and be greeted by kind staff and delicious food & drink!

Great food and drinks. The sunshine sandwich was good. Ordered a chai with an added shot and horchata latte. Recommend for sure for a morning go to!

I've been to the ryan bros location in barrio Logan & was surprised that this location had different drinks. I liked that this location offers a seasonal flight so you can try multiple drinks. We got the summer espresso flight which has a horchata latte, raspberry latte, summer espresso, & a neopolitan affogato. All of drinks tasted great, my favorites were the horchata latte & the neopolitan affogato. Also parking can be kinda tough, don't park in the red zone, even if it's going to be quick. There was someone driving around giving parking citations. There were a couple customers who parked in the red zone right in front & ended up getting tickets.

really really cute space to study! lots of tables and they keep the place super clean the coffee is good and the workers all seem really sweet and seem like they genuinely enjoy working there !! one of the girls was explaining the menu items to customers and it was just nice to see such good customer service/that she cares wifi is also great would go again !!
