Like the sign says, "Always Open, Always Good."Caesar the server at 6:00 in the morning was outstanding. The cooks were phenomenal and the food was amazing. The atmosphere is outstanding. Do yourself a favor. Come here early when the place is quiet and get to talk to your server. Get to reminisce about 75 years of History. You can't beat the price Denny's is more expensive between 8:00 a.m. And 11:00 a.m. check that between 6:00 a.m. And 11:00 a.m. They have three specials. Literally lost leaders...Living in San Diego for almost 30 years. I know a good product when I see it. I wish I could keep my business open for 75 years straight and for the 75th anniversary they have special t-shirts. Make sure to get one. I'm sure you'll be able to sell it on eBay in 25 years from now for a lot of money

Everytime I pickup or eat at Rudfords, I'm never dissatisfied with my orders. Whether it's breakfast, lunch, or dinner, the food always comes hot and how I ordered. Each waiter I've had has always been very nice and accommodating. The parking lot is small, so if it's the breakfast/dinner rush, it may take you longer to find parking.

First time here. Came around 1130pm on a Friday night tipsy. I found it to be slightly better than Denny's. Service was super quick. Not a ton of people here minus a few high school students and workers. Selection of food was not as big as the other diners. But their portions were a good size and I left pretty full. I ordered:Reuben sandwich with fries (you can select from a couple of different sides). The Reuben was a lot better than I expected from a diner. I might even consider coming back here again just for it. The fries were meh. Burger with bacon, lettuce, and tomatoes with half onion rings and half fries. The portion is what makes this plate good. The burger was average but it's pretty thick. The onion rings were much better than the fries. Perfect crisp to it. It has an old school / retro theme to it which adds to the ambiance. There's a parking lot attached to the business. You can get a few cars there. Otherwise you're looking at street parking which could be difficult since it's off a major street and there isn't much. You'll have to find yourself down one of the side streets in order to find street parking. You won't break the bank here which is great. Super affordable.

This is my go-to 24 hour diners spot at night when everything is closed and I don't want to go to a chain restaurant. I usually park on the street when going to this place. Usually there is also a little wait to get seated. I like some items better than others. Here I prefer more specialty dishes like burgers and the huevos rancheros over the basic classic breakfast items. I find the pancakes, eggs, etc just okay. The huevos rancheros are pretty bomb though. The ambiance is homey and the restaurant has a classic diner feel.

Haven't been in town for a little bit, but since I'm back, I decided to see how they are doing, and they seem to be doing pretty good. I'm happy to see that.The parking lot was full, so I was lucky enough to find some nearby street parking. It was pretty busy, but I was lucky enough to get a quick seat. I ordered the Patty Melt, medium rare with fries and o-ring mix. Also ordered a Michilada. The food came out in a decent amount of time considering how busy they were. When he brought it out and put it in front of me, I was taken aback by just how well my meat was done to order. Perfection! Holy crap, it was spot on. The first bite confirmed that this was the best patty melt I have ever had. The color was a perfect red, and it was juicy as all get out. Super happy about this. Oh, the fries and rings were good, but that medium rare Patty Melt!!!! Overall, this was an excellent meal.

It has been a long time since I've been here, but a close friend was visiting and I said let's meet here like old times! But by old, I meant 1:45 am after leaving the Pirahna Room (RIP). They use to have these old school waitresses in blue uniforms who called you "sweetie" and "hun" but they are long gone.We came for late breakfast, and they were pretty busy, and only getting busier. I ordered the chicken fried steak, eggs scrambled, with hash browns and extra gravy. This has been my go to here forever! Either for breakfast or dinner. I also got mozzarella sticks which were perfect!The guy taking care of us was great! Let us hang out for a while to catch up. There are some vegetarian options, but this place is far from vegan (my friend is), so please don't come here and think you'll be able to find something. She made it work! I'm glad it still has that diner charm!

Delicious burgers! Even though they were cooked well done, they were still flavorful & not dried out! The crinkle cuts fries were fried perfectly. They were crispy, yet soft on the inside. There was a like going out the door after I arrived, so you know the food is good! All the workers that I interacted with were very pleasant. Thanks for letting me take on your burger challenge!

Great little old school dinner, great food and good portions perfect for sharing. I got the liver plate the bf got a hamburger and my son got some wings. Prices are average, staff is nice and there is plenty of parking.Clean place and the sitting has been remodeled its a cute place.

Rudford's is a retro dining San Diego institution-sit at the counter or one of their massive booths for some old fashioned personal attention from a great wait staff. The coffee flows, sodas are refilled, and the milkshakes are delicious.Today it's their French Dip, made to order with piles of tender beef on a grilled bun, tasty au jus, and golden onion rings.All night, every night, all day, everyday.Parking lot and metered street parking.Bus stop one block.Cash or credit.

I cannot express how wonderful this establishment is! Despite passing by numerous times, I finally stopped and was thrilled I did. We indulged in breakfast - a delightful waffle and a scrumptious Benedict. The food was not only delicious but also reasonably priced. The service was exceptionally friendly, and although there was a slight wait, opting to sit at the bar alleviated any inconvenience. Highly recommend this gem of a place!
