I'm not as familiar with South Indian food as I am with the more ubiquitous curries/tikka masala/etc, but I really enjoy Ruchi. Prices are reasonable and the dosai is very good. The last time I ate here I tried the cherry nadu cauliflower dosai. There's so much flavor packed in and it's so filling that I didn't even remember it was vegetarian.

vegetable curry was not palatable. it tasted like they poured a glass of wine into the dish and, since that was unexpected, i could not get myself to finish my serving. it was really disappointing because i had previously visited on another trip out in AZ and i remembered it being tasty! the service was alright, a little awkward when ordering, but our food got out quick enough. the gobi was okay, but the curry really put a sour flavor in my mouth that lingered. overall, not sure if i would visit this restaurant again.

We have been coming here for years. The food is always delicious. Made fresh the owner personally weights on you and is more than happy and willing to explain the menu as well as gift suggestions based on your taste the restaurant is clean and they have a relatively new juice bar now.

Quantity does not equal quality, but Ruchi has it all going on. Their masala dosa arrive at the table far exceeding their comically undersized platters, despite being spacious for any other dish. The crisp yet tender flatbread, buttery but not greasy, conceals a treasure trove of spiced potato filling. I'd say it's a must order, no matter how hungry you are. Bring friends, bring an appetite, and plan for leftovers. It genuinely tastes even better the next day, if that's possible.

We had a great 1st experience! Food was so delicious and flavorful and fast. Customer service was also amazing. The owner was very nice and showed us how to eat certain dishes. It was a very welcoming atmosphere. We will be back!

Excellent south Indian restaurant. This is my second time here. It's so close I don't know why I've waited so long to come back. We were greeted by the owner when we arrived. We asked for help with the menu, he asked a few questions and then said he would take care of us! I really appreciate having my dishes spicy. It's cooked when ordered so my meal was prepared how I wanted it! We had a complete experience in terms of great food, cleanliness, hospitality and a decent price for the food. We will definitely be back! * Keep in mind they are closed from 3-5:00.

Went with my family and as an Indian here are my thoughts ..Food - Ordered few different things for the entire family. Food - was bland, Chana was without much flavor (like someone else said). Naan was dry(as someone else said). Asked for some butter or ghee on the Naan. Was told it's a vegan place so they didn't put it on. I thought the restaurant name has vegetarian in it and not vegan. No onions or lemons with Chana. Asked for it. Tummy went bad later in the day probably due to bad oil used for the Bhatura. Service - was decent and quick but had to literally ask for every item. Water glasses, plates, napkins were no existent. Ambiance - is spacious and decent but normal for Indian restaurant. They couldn't figure where to let a part of six sit cos their tables were in a 4 seater configuration. Honestly will be long time before I visit it again.

Pros- portions are good size and they were quick with making food Cons - the food was bland/no salt, garlic naan was stale and lacking any butter/did not pull apart. We are a South Indian family who has lots of experience with this cuisine and this restaurant did not meet the standards expected. We would not dine here again.

Delicious South Indian spot in Chandler with huge portions. We came on a Saturday night and there was no wait - seemed like there were some regulars there.Who I assumed to be the owner took our order and he was super friendly, kinda funny, and happy to make recommendations to us who don't get Indian food often. We got a dosai (crepe-like) filled with spinach and potatoes. It came with some sauces to eat it with which he taught us how to eat. It was huge and so delicious and filling! We also got a gobi manchurian, paneer masala curry, garlic naan, and mango lassi. The gobi manchurian was fried cauliflower with a sweet and sour sauce. Came with rice. A little spicy which my husband enjoyed.Paneer masala curry was yummy. I love paneer bc I love cheese - my husband initially thought it was tofu and he liked it too. Great with the garlic naan which was on the thinner side.Mango lassi was a little too sweet but as expected. They kindly put it in a to-go cup at our request while we were dining in!We had enough food for a whole other meal for 2 at home with leftovers.Only issue was ambiance - we were seated right behind a flickering light bulb that flickered throughout our whole dinner which was a bit jarring. In addition it was quite warm inside - wish they turned on AC. Otherwise the food and service was great, we'll definitely return. You won't miss eating meat coming here!
