Lovely little spot if you're playing tennis at the court or just in the Balboa Park area.There's a good amount of seating, all shaded, and there are restrooms nearby.Order freshly made food and drinks, or opt for packaged snacks and drinks. Can't go wrong either way.Service was friendly and efficient.

TENNIS AND SMOOTHIES(5 stars)I've been to both Route 6 locations (Balboa Tennis Club and Barnes Tennis Club). I will say, through the years, this place gets better and better with more tastier options. It's right at our club house at Balboa Tennis Club. It's convenient, amazing staff, and affordable.When I have matches, I usually bring my own snacks and water for hydration but afterwards when I want to hang out at the clubhouse or with my tennis buddies and here the latest tennis club gossip I will make purchases here. My dearest friend Gino was the one who put me up to their smoothies. Now, in his memory I buy a smoothie on Sunday mornings after hitting - just like how we use to do.SUNNY SAN DIEGO ($7 small) - be my new pick. Before it was a different one and it was just okay but this one is SO GOOD! It's mango, orange, banana, pineapple. So refreshing and not too sweet or flat either. HIGHLY RECOMMENDAlthough I haven't gone through the menu like a hungry person, they do offer good stuff. My tennis buddies like to grab a hot cup coffee here. I haven't gotten a chance to grab food here except for chips but will consider next time - sandwiches look delicious. As for the Barnes Tennis Club, I was there watching to watch the Women's Tennis Tournament and only grab drinks and snacks. So can't speak too much about the one at that tennis club. JABA APPROVED. Until the next smoothie!

They make everything fresh and to order! I have a weird egg allergy so requested a breakfast burrito without egg and with additional veggies it came out hot and delicious! My husband loved the açaí bowl. My only complaint is they don't serve decaf espresso/coffee!!

Had been here before just to enjoy some smoothies with my boys, but my goodness came in today for a hot sandwich and the Barnes chipotle outstanding what a great assortment of flavor and cheese I love cheese! Nestled alongside Balboa Tennis Club you would normally miss it driving by. Do yourself a favor and enjoy it be of their sandwiches, smoothies, coffee or açaí!

Got a green smoothie and it was surprisingly not bad!! Nice location at the park and right inside a tennis facility.

Had a delightful latte and açaí bowl on the patio while watching people play tennis. The spot is quiet, and relaxing. Seating is outdoors but on a nice day nothing is better! Good place to read/study.

This is a hidden gem! The coffee and food are both excellent, and the location is quiet and relaxing. The staff are incredibly sweet and kind. I'm surprised this place isn't packed every day!

This place is amazing. Some of the breakfast food around. Nice vibes at the tennis courts too. The breakfast sandwich, burritos, and quesadillas are amazing and cheap. Highly recommend.

This place rocks!!They are located in the clubhouse on the ground of the Balboa Tennis Club, with an easy to access counter window for quick service.They make an assortment of various breakfast, lunch and snack items, all fresh to order.I've had egg sandwiches, turkey sandwiches, smoothies, and they've all been great.Their prices are way too low, and I've told them to raise their sandwich prices by at least $1. Today I ordered their turkey sandwich on toasted whole wheat bread, which comes with avocado, tomato, cheese and spinach, and price is only $5!!! I asked for no cheese, and extra turkey, and they charged me $5.50. I told them it should be $7, and they need to raise their prices.So glad they're here, and I hope they make it to stay. I'll be back!!!
