This is a nice pizza and bar spot. The upstairs has a retractable roof that we loved! On a hot and breezy day this would be perfect. The food was good. We ordered the mozzarella sticks, highly recommend, a pepperoni pizza, a kids macaroni and spaghetti which were very large portions. Plenty of seating, good staff, Definitely check them out

Trivia night is super fun!!! Service was alright since it was busy.The pizza is just okay. We had the garden pizza.We also had the spinach artichoke dip which was very good! I'll definitely be going back for another trivia night but maybe hold off on the pizza and just order apps!

We found this spot to be relaxing and yet vibrant with a fun atmosphere, lots of booths and tables as well as cozy nooks. The interior lighting made it seem like a fairyland or outside patio, and the view of the city was fun out of the myriad of windows.The menu is varied and the salads are actually amazing (which is to say other things were too but this surprised me). We had a Not a Carrot in Sight Salad and a 12 inch veggie pizza. The dough is indeed chewy and has the flavor of malt making it rather unique. The salad was unique as well and a large portion, so we split it and even had some to take home. The dressing was also amazing and lifted the flavors to a tangy and sweet note. Yum!Highly recommend this spot and given the hotel we were using had a discount here it was an even better deal. We will go back on our next visit!

I attended event held on the second floor that was executed flawlessly.130 people with a pizza, salads & pasta buffet. Everything I had was very good, but especially the pizzas. The bar was open serving delicious cocktails, especially old fashioned.Parking is off street free, or nearby parking garage for a fee. The area felt safe. The servers were extremely attentive and friendly. I would recommend them for your event.

Roots was interesting. I loved the upstairs main dining room with the retractable glass roof, where dining under the stars can occur despite the weather. Staff is a bit quirky but friendly and attentive nevertheless. There was a sweetness to the crispy Margarita crust, which was cooked to perfection. The oven could have used a bit of top heat because the thickly sliced fresh mozzarella cheese hadn't melted. It's pizza not that other pizza-esque concoction that Chicagoans call "deep dish". Seems like a great place for after work drinks/bite. Nice ambience, esp if the roof is open on a nice summer day. Very spacious. Cocktails were reasonably priced, garlic mushroom pizza was really good. Elote dip was good but just a bit too cheesy for me. The staff was so friendly as well- def will be back.

I really liked this location! First time at the South Loop spot but I've been to other locations. They have very different vibes. The cranberry mule cocktail I got was pretty good and they had a nice beer selection. Our server was pretty on top of making sure our huge group wasn't thirsty. We were here for a rehearsal dinner but I would love to come back for brunch sometime. The appetizers were to die for and the pizza was great too.
