Every detail of this place has been thoroughly thought out and practiced. The staff were friendly, trained, and efficient, but the food stole the show. Starting with the bread option with seaweed butter was wonderful. Then the pasta options were outstanding. Every flavor was carefully planned to accompany another one. Amazing!!Reservations a must and it is pricey for Italian, but well worth it.

All I can say is wow! You can tell from the moment you walk in that this is going to be refreshing and delicious food. We made a reservation and sat at the communal table. If you like your space I recommend requesting a dinning room table. We started off with a delicious bottle of wine. Their selection of European wines is excellent. Our waiter was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. This is a ever changing menu which makes Rolf and Daughters such a unique experience. We enjoyed the the sourdough and beef tartare as our starter. We moved into the delicious chicken and rigatoni. Just the right amount of spices and absolutely delightful. I would highly recommend coming here for a cozy evening and enjoy sometime by the patio. There is parking next to the restaurant and free street parking. You have to try it!

We had an absolutely fantastic meal at Rolf and Daughters! You'll need to find street parking which may take a little longer if you don't want to pay for parking. The outside of the restaurant is super cute and modern, and right when you walk in the dining room is so cute and inviting! Our waitress was so kind, and we had some lovely conversations with her. She was one of the most knowledgeable waitresses I've ever had, and had great recommendations and knew every detail of every dish! We had the dry aged beef tartare with spring onion, Parmesan, and potato, and it was phenomenal! All of the ingredients combined tasted great together. I decided to get the tonnarelli with crab and chili, and it was so flavorful with a nice lemon zest taste to the pasta as well. Plus, it was the perfect amount of pasta! My friend had the spaghetti with cherry tomato, basil, and breadcrumbs. While it may sound simple, it's far from that! The combination of flavors you get from the spaghetti and everyone on it is so unique and unlike anything I've ever had before. We had no room for dessert, but we will definitely be back!

Five stars for Rolf & Daughters! This James Beard Nominated chef is innovative and creative! Run, don't walk, here! The decoration is modern and welcoming. The bar area is simply classic! The ingredients are sourced using items found just a few short miles of the restaurant. Much of the items used to create the dishes are sustainable. You can taste the freshness. First, let's start with service. The amazing server Stephanie & GM Stevie were amazing. They were helpful throughout the meal and made it a five star experience. Please give these ladies a raise! Service Grade: A++We had 4 appetizers & 2 main dishes to share. Dry aged beef tartare, ramp, parmesan, new potato. What a fun dish beef tartar served on a baked warm new potato. Grade: A-Stracciatella, sungold tomato, prosciutto xo. They make their own Stracciatella cheese in house. Cheese stretched thin like noodles and topped with farm fresh tomatoes! Grade: A-Green tomato, fig, squash, celery, yuzu. A very creative & contrasting mix of local veggie gems! You can taste TN in this dish! Grade: B+Cucumber, peach, pine nut, basil, fish sauce. Creative dish, well prepared. Appreciated the effort. Honestly, this dish wasn't my favorite. Agnolotti, sweet corn, jalapeño, lime. This dish was one of the highlights of the meal! Fresh local corn made into sweet pillows of deliciousness! This is a must have dish! Grade: A++Heritage pork, blueberry, rossa di milano onion. Locally raised pork cooked to perfection. Flavorful pork paired with blueberries & onion. Delicious! Grade: A-We had two desserts:Plum Sorbet. Super refreshing and bright sorbet made with a local stone fruit. Great palate cleanser after an amazing. Grade: A-Peach amaretti ice cream with olive oil. This was a second highlight of the meal. I wanted to lick the plate! My eyes rolled backwards after the first bite! Served with a side of Heirloom apple Amaro. The perfect pairing, suggested by GM Stevie! Grade: A++We ended the coffee, that was served in local made Japanese tea cups!We were blown away at the customer service of Server Stephanie and GM Stevie. They went above and beyond to make it an amazing culinary experience. Thank you Ladies! The food here is creatively made, locally sourced and fun to eat! Overall impression: A

The menu changes a lot. We've here 3 times and all I have to say is, if they have the Agnolotti on the menu, you better get it!!! The patio is lovely if it's not too hot out and the inside is super vibey. The servers are always super friendly and willing to walk you through the menu! If you are celebrating something, I highly recommend coming here and they'll even customize the menu for you.

A Cali friend and a local friend highly recommended this spot; it was my first stop in Nashville. It is a little hard to find and does not have signage outside. It is definitely worth the hype. The service was super friendly and on point. Everyone working here seems to genuinely care and happy to work here. The food, decor, and drinks were awesome. The Mojito was refreshing. The sourdough with seaweed butter, bluefin tuna and rigatoni was excellent. My favorite dish was the agnolotti. I was expecting it to be very rich but it ended up being light and bursting with flavor. The only down note for me was dessert. I had high hopes after the food and it ended up being middle of the road. The peach with ice cream and the seaweed ice cream were meh. I was still super impressed and will happily recommend this spot to everyone.

Had reservations, but walk ins are available. We opted to sit at the bar. We had reservations on a Tuesday evening. We wanted to start off enjoying a cocktail and then order food. However, our server told us that since it took time to prep the food (30 minutes to be exact), we should order at that time. Mind you, there were plenty of open tables. We reluctantly ordered and to our surprise, our food came out almost immediately (before 30 minutes was up). The pastas were good, but i would choose the pork over the snail next time. Personally, I prefer snails in garlic and butter. Overall, the setting was lovely with brick and wood. The food was good, but the service was not as I would have expected. I felt rushed with my food and drinks rather than being able to enjoy the experience. To conclude, when we left, there were still plenty of tables available. Food: 4Service: 3Ambience: 4

If you're reading this in the summertime ... let it be your sign to go to Rolf & Daughters ASAP for their mesmerizing Agnolotti. I saw the photos of this sweet corn pasta masterpiece on Instagram, and knew I had to experience it firsthand. This dish is only available for a limited time ... but I feel it's my duty to recommend it so as many people as possible get to enjoy the perfect flavor combo of sweet, creamy, and a little spicy. This was our first visit to R&D, and it won't be our last. We arrived on Friday evening right when they opened, and were happy to grab a pair of seats at the bar. Their website states that they do save a few seats for walk-in's each night, at either the bar or their community tables. We even found FREE street parking right across from the restaurant - which is always a win in Germantown. One of my favorite parts of sitting at the bar is that you get your drinks before everyone else. We sampled our way through a few cocktails, and most enjoyed the Farm Stand. The Smoky Eye was fun as well, albeit a little strong for my taste. R&D's menu is small, but it rotates daily, so you'll want to taste as much as you can during your meal. We kicked things off with an order of Sourdough Bread and Seaweed Butter, which was a fun, green-tinged salty spread. The bread was warm and crusty, perfect for an appetizer. We also ordered the Stracciatella, which was topped with juicy tomatoes and crispy prosciutto. I almost wished we'd had some extra bread to dip in this dish ... but it was great on its own too.For our entree, we ordered off-menu. Our bartender/server Tanner let us know that the chef had a few extra halibut collars that evening, and if we liked fish, this was a can't-miss dish. We couldn't agree more. The portion size was HUGE, and the fish was tender, flakey, and full of flavor. If you get the chance to enjoy this unique cut, take it! And speaking of the service - Tanner and the rest of the bar staff took great care of us through our meal. You already know how I feel about the Sweet Corn Agnolotti ... so I'll skip to dessert. We split the Amaretti, which was some vanilla ice cream topped with an almond cookie topped with a cooked peach. This may just be the perfect dessert. It's not too sweet, and offers all sorts of fun textures, making each bite a bit different. We also sipped on the Flintlock Pistol cocktail during dessert, which was a fun, fruit-forward pairing. I am already planning a return trip to R&D before Agnolotti season ends ... and if you've made it all the way through my review, I suggest you do the same!

This was a very lovely restaurant. It had a great atmosphere, and I loved how it was decorated. The food here is so, so tasty. We had the scallops and a couple of pasta dishes. I would recommend getting the Fusilli dish if it's available. I had the rigatoni, which I didn't love. To be fair, I did ask for tweaks to the dish due to dietary restrictions, so maybe that's my fault. While this is a fine dining restaurant, my only other gripe is that I found the portions to be on the small side for the prices. The service was fantastic and the staff was very polite. They gave good recommendations and were very good about coming to check on us. Overall I would give it more like 4.5 stars rather than a solid 4, and I would visit again. Do note that you will want a reservation ahead of time (probably a couple weeks out) if you don't want the communal seating.
