Wow! My friend had been requesting bbq while visiting Atlanta and I found this place after reading a few articles. The bbq was amazing and they had true Southern Hospitality. We had the big family platter with 4 cuts of of meat and sides. Everything was delicious. My favorite was the mac and cheese and the potato salad. LOVED the ribs - flavored just right and with great juicy meat. The chicken and pork shoulder was also superb. Wish they would've had brisket and burnt ends, but they ran out so go early. Corn bread was also flavorful. The manager was so polite. He checked on us multiple times and wishes us well after we left Tampa for Hurricane Milton. Just great service. The staff member at the front brought us some white sauce even though it isn't on the table and was very hospitable. Fully recommend!

I recently returned to Rodney Scott's BBQ and realized I never left a review, so here it goes! The atmosphere at Rodney Scott BBQ is lovely - very modern and spacious. I have always received great customer service, even during pickup orders. I appreciate how generous they are with their sauces, although I wish they were labeled. I particularly enjoyed the white sauce and used it for the onion rings. The other sauces were hit or miss for me.The onion rings were huge and crispy, almost like eating Captain Crunch back in the day..my gums were irritated. I wish they had a smaller option available. The wings were flavorful, although some were a bit tough. I would get them again but just the 6 count. I was tired of chewing. The rib and brisket combo was really good, and I didn't feel the need for extra sauce. The cornbread was delicious. I wanted more but $4 for cornbread when I only wanted one was too much for me. The greens were fantastic. I could eat them all day every day. The mac n cheese was different but tasty. The potato salad had potato skins and they used red potatoes, which gave me pause, but after picking out the peels, it was good. The banana pudding was a hit for me. I liked that the cookies were crumbled on top instead of inside, preventing them from getting soggy. mind.Overall, my experiences at Rodney Scott BBQ have been positive. It's been my go to for bbq.

Rodney brother Scott!!! I just went back again and bruh you gotta get this place back right. Last visit before this was not good, I chalked it up to just a bad day. Just went back for the first time in months and pretty much the same! The chicken use to be the absolute best and last two visits it's been so dry and smoky. Not moist and flavorful like it use to be. I know this place is good because we use to frequent all the time when coming into downtown. The wrong folk working for you can sometimes not get it right with the system you've established. The service is always on point hands down. However the quality in my opinion just isn't the same. Hopefully it gets fixed sooner than later. I promise I'm trying my best to hang on and support, but there's too many options in ATL to settle.

Highly recommend watching his NFLX special before coming here, or u won't appreciate the work it took to make it (Chef's Table: BBQ, episode 3). I was so surprised to find out Atl has a location! I was literally ready to drive to Charleston to try his whole hog BBQ. What a pleasant surprise to find out it's in town! Loved the whole hog plate w 2 sides. Mac n cheese and collard greens were on point. What a gem! Keep up your good work RS!

We're fans. We've made sure to eat at the one in Charleston every time we're there FOR YEARS. Happy to have one here. I forgot to take a pic of the 3 meat until we'd eaten half of it. Lol Brisket is AMAZING. Turkey is good. Sausage was okay. Not a fan of the peppers in it. If you like peppers, you will like this. Burnt ends are pork. Very good. Food took awhile so they gave us an extra skewer. Nice clean, restaurant. Good parking. We'll be back!

I enjoyed the ribs, but i will say that I think their pricing is pretty high considering the amount of food you get. I wasn't crazy about their bbq sauces but I enjoyed trying something different. I had ribs, brisket, catfish strips, Mac and cheese, collard greens and a sweet tea. I got my food to go but next time i might visit and eat there

3.5 overallAdmittedly my review of Rodney Scott's Whole Hog BBQ is a bit skewed. I've had food at this location twice, and both times were Uber eats orders on the weekend. Since the orders were pretty far apart, I'll focus on the last order I placed and what I ordered:2 meat combo plateBag of skinsWithin the 2 meat combo comes, two sides of your choice, and two meats. I ordered the Ribs and whole hog as my meats. For the sides I got the brisket chili and collard greens. So what did I think?First off, let's get the win right out of the way. The Bag of skins are great. They tasted freshly cooked, were nicely sized, plentiful in the bag, and they're tossed in Rodney's rib rub, giving a nice pop of flavor. Go ahead and order these for the table! The Ribs came as 3 bones and had no sauce on them, which is how I like my ribs. The flavor was nice! I devoured them and wish I'd gotten more than the 3 sample bones I got. If they have them available on the menu and you like ribs, it's a no brainer to buy these. The Whole hog, which is in the name of the restaurant, actually didn't hit me like the ribs did. Kinda mushy, kinda uninspired, kinda wished I'd sampled some other meat. At least in my opinion, I wouldn't recommend.Collard greens as a side was a great choice. They tasted freshly cooked and not from a can. The brisket chili needed a bit of touching up I thought. At the time I was on keto, so all you carb avoiders, there are a ton of kidney beans in here. You'll have to pick them out like I did. The actual flavor of the chili wasn't as seasoned as I would have liked and I had to add ingredients I liked to it to get it to taste how I wanted. So yea, I probably wont order this side again. If I hadn't ordered the whole hog or the brisket chili, this easily would have been a 4.5 star review...but since I can't pick and choose what I review, I'd go ahead and give Rodney Scott's a 3.5 stars overall, with plenty of room to round up to a 4 upon another visit/order of something different

Really enjoyed my visit. My buddy has become a regular and really raved about this place. It lived up to the hype.I went with their signature, barbecue plate, and two sides, and the pork was super succulent. I also really enjoyed all the different barbecue sauces they had on the table. My hush puppies were amazing and so fluffy and delicious. And the collard greens are a must!

I don't know where to start. We order a 2 meat rib and sausage meal and got pulled pork instead that was so dry it wasn't edible and potato salad and beans; the 2 sauces were also forgotten and the beans tasted like they were out of a can. The second 2 meat was brisket and chicken and the brisket was mainly fat and the meat was dry. The chicken was flavorful but dry as well; the 2 sauces were also forgotten. The Mac n cheese was decent at best. We ordered a kids grilled cheese and the bread was beyond burnt and there was not even noticeable cheese and couldn't even notice the cheese. I spent $55 on food that was mostly thrown away. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone even though it was recommended to me.
