Rockin Baja Lobster

When I took a breather from the bustle of comic con and jokingly suggested to get lobster as a reward, I didn't think it would be possible. Located down the street from the SDCC in the Gaslamp quarter was this place, with a short wait to boot. Comic Con policy meant no happy hour prices, so our appetizers ended up being a bit pricey. In addition, there was a 40 minute time limit on the table from when our food was served, which rushed us a bit. Regardless, our server was super friendly and gave us reminders of our time limit when she checked in on us. The big bucket was more like a platter, but 4 lobster tails, 12 shrimp, corn, chicken AND carne asada along with sides of rice, beans, and tortillas filled 3 people up for $79. The seafood was the clear winner, while the chicken and carne asada were dryer and tougher. The corn was perfectly juicy and grilled as well. If there wasn't a time limit, I would have had the opportunity to digest and eaten without rushing, so I will have to come back on a non CC weekend to assess once more. (Preferably during happy hour)

This is a shout out to Ryan. We were in town working and he opened up 15 minutes early for us so we could get a quick bite to eat. The food specifically the california burrito was great! The server that helped was very attentive. It was so good we went in a couple more times. Thanks Ryan with a silent B (Ryan) LOL for a good experience. He is 100%prime example of what and how hospitality should be. The main reason we came back hats of to Ryan....

Went here for happy hour.Our server was great! We ordered a bunch of appetizers to sample- rolled tacos (very cheesy), and chips and guac.They have a great beer selection on tap and did a great job mixing up my dirty martini. We will definitely be back!

My dad's face says it all pre comicon shenanigans with family ! Came here for dinner in a Monday and had their family bucket special and it was a lot of food good food that is ! It came with 4 lobster tails meat and sides ! Def hit this place spot up in gaslamp !

Our server, Luke was excellent! Very happy with the service, not so much with the food. The only thing we liked here were the chicken taquitos and the fact that they have a pet friendly patio. Our tacos were okay, nothing great. Location is great as this is located in heart of Gaslamp. Prices can be steep!

My son and I were starving. Went to the Union. A hostess said it would be 15 min wait and food wood take 30 min to arrive. Asked if My Son and I could sit on the bar and eat she said absolutely. Mind you my son is 13 . we went to the bar sat down got comfortable and the bartender told us we couldn't sit here only 21 and older. Went back to the hostess, and she just laughed it off. We walked across to rockin Baja Lobster. these two girls were so sweet, got us a table right away and got our food super fast. It was delicious. I rather go with friendly atmosphere people . thank you Kim and Kimberlyn you guys were awesome.

First time visit server was awesome. Recommendations for food and drinks were on point. Portions were large. I have a small complaint. The shrimp quesadilla had about 8 very small shrimp. The cheese was delicious and plentiful but I expected at least a shrimp or 2 in each slice. I also ordered a frozen margarita and it came out not frozen the server returned it I saw the bartender sorted jerked it from her hand put ice in the blender with the contents on my glass pour it back in the glass and she brought it back to me sticky with the contents running down the side of the glass I didn't say anything I just sipped on it out of the paper straws that kept collapsing. Finally I gave up. lol. Overall I nice place to grab a bite to eat.

I heard they moved, but around the same location, still Gaslamp. So we went and checked, and they didnt move that far, they only moved 2 doors down ;) I like their new location, their layout looks bigger than their old location. We came at Lunch time, the moment they open for the day. Before we entered their restaurant, we asked if they are Pet Friendly 'coz we have our dog Bambam with us, and they said they are Pet Friendly ! They even provided water right away for our Dog Bambam :) Our server named Karryna came and she was very energetic and friendly. She gave us a Menu list, but we said we were already very Familiar with their food and that there was no need of a Menu.We ordered right away and got: *GOLDEN SOMBRERO FEAST - lobster tails , prime skirt steak , shrimp , grilled chicken breast, alaskan King crab legs . corn , beans , rice , tortilla , 2 salads , and fried ice cream to share * FAJITAS FANTASTICO - Lobster , grilled shrimp , carne asada , black beans , rice , sour cream, cheddar cheese . * LA PALETA - ghost Tequila , mezcal , Watermelon puree sweet & sour , lime juice As always, their GOLDEN SOMBRERO FEAST - was good , but the Portions (Especially the Lobster) have completely changed. A few years back their Golden Sobrero Feast have a Full Lobsters with the head and claws, now it's just Lobster Tails. It's still alright, as long it has Seafood and I enjoy eating them, then I'm okay with it. This bucket has Shrimps, Crab legs, Corn, Beans, Rice, Steak, and Chicken. All the Seafood in this Bucket are so yummmy, and their Steak is so Tender and well seasoned, as well as the chicken. Also their Golden Sombrero includes Salad and Fried ice cream The FAJITAS FANTASTICO were so good too, but I hope there's more meats to it. For my Drink I got The PALETA watermelon , its a big drink and delicious . For the dessert we got the FRIED ICE CREAM which is included in our GOLDEN SOBRERO FEAST , I think their ice cream had sprinkles of frosted flakes 'coz that what was what it tasted like, and it was very good. The food was good, they are pet Friendly, the staff were cool , and the ambiance is nice.

Food was really good, but the service was terrible. Our server (P) never came back after we ordered. She posted up at the bar and just stood there checking her watch. Pet peeve when servers just stand there and don't even check on you/your food, fill up water, etc. I getit if she was busy, but nope - just didn't feel like working

my waiter Angie was super amazing ! the service was a 10/10, super friendly. food was good and would definitely recommend to friends. the environment was great as well, honestly never had a better experience like this anywhere.
