Rockie's Frozen Yogurt

New location next to Carnival Market! Which I am happy about because it's actually a little closer to me. My favorite is the açaí bowl or açaí smoothie. I love the smoothie because it is dairy free. The other drinks and fro-yo is great and they have very generous portions. I can't believe some people on here are complaining about the portion sizes being too big lol- that is what Rockies is known for! Service is always very helpful and friendly. This is my favorite place to get dessert in my area!!Edit: The new location is spacious and clean. I noticed they don't have their extensive menu posted in their new spot. I had to look online for their espresso bar menu, not a huge deal. The ambiance does feel different, I hope they can decorate it with their cute murals again and make it feel more like the charming Rockies the original location was! Also, it would be cool if they did something like a stamp card/rewards program for their regulars.

First thing to know is that the size is massive. This is a small size and it was way too much for 2. You can probably share a child size between 2. They don't have tart flavor.Also, I don't know if this makes sense, but this tasted more like yogurt that was frozen more than frozen yogurt...

So they are now located around the corner approximately 4-6 blocks north on Ashford 3546. They recently moved, and I was told 2 weeks prior. Still in transition, but there are tables available for indoor seating & 2 intimate tables outside. Parking plentiful. Handicap wheelchair accessible. They seem to still be setting up the inside but are open for business. I will say when I pulled up to the old spot that I had known them to be at for almost 40 yrs on Linda Vista rd, & saw their sign removed & papers on the window my daughter & I both gasped. We thought they had closed down. I'm glad to find that wasn't the case. The servers were pleasant & quick with their service. Although our server seemed annoyed with some of her coworkers. I noticed the change from the Styrofoam containers to paper containers. I read a review that said they no longer offer samples of the yogurt. I hope the comes back. It gives customers an idea based on the taste which to buy. I noticed the cups didn't seem to maintain the cold as well as before seemsto melt much faster. Our usual flavors strawberry tart wasn't as tasty as before. Tasted a less strawberry. I blamed the toppings, which I don't usually add. My daughter said gers was good. I should have done split with the blueberry pomegranate. Those two are always good together or alone. Treat yourself to the OG fro-yo spot. Where you get more for your dollar. And if you don't like a lot, ask for a top or a cone.

I came in because I was craving a sweet treat. And I was not disappointed! I got all of this froyo and toppings for like $10! The portion was huge! Super delicious, definitely recommend the cookies and cream flavor! Will definitely be back :)

Found this place on Yelp and decided to give it a try after dinner. They don't do samples here, so my wife and I just winged it. We ordered a medium to share. We went with the Reese's flavor along with the Strawberry Shortcake, which ended up being a great combo. It was very creamy and felt more like ice cream. The toppings are weird because they charge by the scoop size and not by weight, which is what we are used to. The smallest scoop for topping was 95 cents and I'm not sure if it's just our server, but he put the toppings on the bottom, which was actually kinda nice so it doesn't spill everywhere. Two scoops of toppings and a hefty medium sized froyo ended up being almost $11, which is not bad.

Yum!! Super friendly service, HUUUUGE portions and delicious yogurt--what more is there to say! We got the strawberry tart, blueberry, and Reese's peanut butter, loved all of them.

Update: the only flavor that's good but not wow is salted caramel. Skip the cake batter too. I felt the Froyo to be heavy and for $7 too expensive. We got bloated and the quantity and quality of our farts afterwards were no joke. I personally found it to be less satisfying and also on the heavier side, where I'd rather go for ice cream calories and satisfaction wise unless you crave Froyo. Very good creamy frozen yogurt that's more on a soft serve side. It's firm, it's creamy, it's not too heavy and delicious.What to skip: pistachio for sure!I'd skip the Reese one too (chocolate and peanutbutter swirl)What was great: caramel and cookies and creamThe smallest children size is huge but for $6.50 too expensive (feb 2024)

THEY MOVED!!!! New address is 3546 Ashford St San Diego CA! It's only 3 minuscule away from this address so don't worry! This was my first time going and I was very happy with both the flavor and the service! There are a lot of toppings to choose from and the staff will answer all your questions! They were even open on the 4th of July which was really helpful for a last minute BBQ treat!

Stopped in on a whim while in the area. Large selection of froyo and very friendly service. A cute mom and pop type of place. My daughter had Dole Whip and it tasted just like the one at Disney! I had pomegranate tart (I think?) it was good but not as tart as I usually like. Servings are large. I'd def recommend!
