I love rochambeau and find myself going back often. I have lost count of how many times I have gone. I've brought friends and they all seem to like it too. First off, if it was based on the food alone this would probably be 5 stars. I've never been disappointed and the food is always good. But for service it's not always consistent. I've spoken to a manager once before too and they were entirely unhelpful and not nice and kept not addressing the issue. I let them know something that occurred with a server and they kept saying well you should have let us know. And I kept saying I am letting you know. Right now. And they just kept saying oh well next time. Didn't mention anything about retraining the servers or making sure this gets communicated. I was pretty frustrated. I also had a birthday brunch here this past year and when one of my friends arrived she was just told to go and pointed in a vague direction and not given full directions or walked to the stairs or the elevator when we were upstairs. It might not seem like a big deal but if you've been here you'd know that's very confusing and not helpful. I didn't appreciate this either. There are also times they're very nice and attentive but there are times like these that make me not enjoy dining at rochambeau.4 stars overall for 2-3 star service and 4.5-5 star food

Steak frites does not live up to the hype and service was okay. Sauce is not good and salty (yuck). Location and ambience is great. Overall the experience is mediocre and will not return. I'm glad I did not pay an expensive meal for this. You can go elsewhere for better steak.

I love the atmosphere, ambiance, lighting, and decor of this restaurant. The servers are nice and friendly. The portions are on the smaller side for some of the dishes (the mussels were actually quite a hearty portion), but this is a slightly more expensive French restaurant. I recommend sitting on the second floor, as the decor is more grand. Great date spot, or fancy catch-up spot with friends.

I went to the steak room with friends and it was a great experienced. Service was great and it was exactly as promised. Steak was cooked to our requests and accompaniments such as salad, fries, and bread were all plentiful. I will say the fries were way too salty on the de vid round but would definitely still return. Also the martini was only 12 bucks and that's a steal in Boston. I would definitely recommend overall. We left very full and satisfied!

I've been to Rochambeau a few times to get drinks at the bar, and it was my first time eating there! I've always seen their steak room deal, which is about $36 for an 8 ounce steak, unlimited fries, a salad, and a baguette. It's a great deal because you definitely won't be hungry after. The steak was surprisingly cooked very well for a strip steak. Great sear, great flavor. Fries are solid, salad is nothing special, just lettuce. The best thing about this restaurant is the ambiance and the service. Sitting at the bar, we got to talk to some of the bartenders and they're always so accommodating! Sometimes, I just tell them what kind of ingredients I like and they create something based off of that. It's also so beautiful inside and located conveniently at the Prudential Center.I would love to try some of their main menu stuff. Amazing vibes!

Beautiful restaurant! We came for brunch and all enjoyed our meals. Drinks not pictured but we had a cappuccino with oat milk and a couple mimosas which were lovely. Overall nice experience with a really kind waitress :)

Rochambeau offers a distinct menu from their normal, involving steak frites with bottomless fries, salad, and bread for $36/person. This so-called Steak Room gets packed at night, so I recommend a reservation. The steak itself, an 8oz strip steak, comes with a pan sauce - simple, savory, tender, and effective. The salad, romaine with sherry vinaigrette, seemed straightforward but fresh and well-seasoned. The thin, crisped fries arrived liberally salted (to my perfect taste). The bread, small-sized baguettes, arrived warm and fluffy. The butter did not arrive refrigerator-cold, a plus. All come in unlimited quantities.

I Had the ultimate girls' brunch last weekend in Boston and it was nothing short of fabulous! Nestled right beside the Prudential Center and the vibrant Eataly at 900 Boylston St, Boston, MA 02115, this gem is a must-visit! Kicked things off with their cocktails, and let me tell you, the French Exit stole my heart! A divine mix of guava, Cointreau, Lillet Blanc, and lemon - simply a 9/10 on my taste scale. For starters, we indulged in their Marseille-style mussels , accompanied by a toasted baguette . The sauce? Bursting with flavor and even had a few calamari surprises - a solid 8/10 from us. Then came the French onion soup gratinée - oh la la! Truly one of the best I've savored outside of France. The oxtail broth was decadently rich, and that cheese ... heavenly. Easily one of best french onion soups in the city, rating it a 9/10. Moving on to the main courses: The crispy chicken sandwich on a potato bun with sweet pickles was a delightful 8/10. And the steak frites ? The sauce was packed with flavor and cooked medium rare, a definite 9/10. Plus, those McDonald's-style fries ? Thin, crispy, and utterly addictive. This spot's prime location makes it a fantastic find, and the vibe was just perfect for our brunch. Can't wait to return in the evening to explore their nighttime offerings! Ratings Recap:Food: 9/10 Ambiance: 7/10 Affordability: 5/10 Whether you're planning a day out with the girls or just in the mood for some exquisite dining, this place is definitely worth checking out!

This review of Rochambeau is only for their steak room. They have an amazing deal for steak frites where you get skirt steak, bread, greens and unlimited fries for $36 a person. We came on Wednesday night and had no issues getting a reservation just two days prior. While the claim to fame of the steak room is their steak frites meal, they also have a few items you can order like steak tartare and french onion soup. They also have an extensive wine list that is available. We each ordered the steak frites meal which starts off with a bowl of dressed lettuce for each person and then a single baguette for the table. You can ask for additional bread for no additional cost. The second course was a 6 ounce skirt steak with a small portion of fries. I ordered my steak rare and it came out closer to medium rare but it wasn't a large enough deal to send back. The steak comes with a very delicious steak sauce drizzled on top and a separate cup for dipping your fries into. The y came around about 10 minutes later with extra fries. They were very very generous with the secondary portion of fries. Note that if you are interested, the $36 includes a secondary portion of steak (3 ounces). They came around a 3rd time asking to refill fries and we were STUFFED. Overall, I really enjoyed the meal and would recommend it to anyone looking for a semi casual experience!
