Robert’s Jalapenos

Shocking that I am giving this place a 5 but it is deserved. I wasn't even planning on going here but was next door and saw the yelp reviews were good. Ordered a surf and turf (carne and shrimp) and was VERY IMPRESSED! My buddy got a Torta and has been back twice since to get more tortas. The state of mexican food, mainly burritos, in San Diego has been very dissapointing to me specifically because the carne 99% of the time is mostly tendons and unedible/chewy. Thats not the case here, the carne was legit. I seriously have PTSD from all the bad carne Ive had in this city but Roberts Jalapenos gave me hope. At least I know I can come here. The service and ambience are good too. Honestly you can feel SAFE coming here. Prices are fair too.

This little strip mall doesn't have the best food options, but Robert's Jalapenos is actually a solid spot. They've got all your favorites and the prices are reasonable. We ordered a California burrito. It was made pretty quickly and it was massive. They also have a nice salsa bar. While you can easily order take out, they actually have a good sit down space inside. There is a bar where they have games playing on the tv and beers on draft.

This place is just okay... three stars for the food. We had ordered to go; our first time getting food from here. I ordered the siete mares. Seven sea soup: consisted of shrimp, octopus, fish, clams, top shelf abalone with a side of corn tortilla and herbs. The soup was bland even when I used the herbs in it. The flavor was not there; it was a hefty price of $17.95. I would rate this dish a 5 out of 10. My friend ordered the carne sada burrito on the safe side and he was not impressed either. They gave us one hot sauce each of the green, red and chili oil sauce. I wish they could be more generous with the hot sauce. The hot sauces were not good either; it had no kick to it nor flavor. Pro: it was nice inside the restaurant. Very clean. Plenty of parking near by. Salsa bar for when you're dining in Overpriced for the food.

5 stars for late night food in mission valley!! We got to California burrito and chicken nachos and it hit the spot! The California burrito tasted fresh and some of the better in San Diego honestly! Has a small but fun bar with a couple beers on draft and a TV playing sports. Very casual vibes. People were very nice & accommodating, even late at night! Hidden gem for sure

Pozole is on point! Chunks of bone-in short rib pork, melt in your mouth, lots of hominy with everything else that goes in so delicious! This small, primarily to-go order Mexican food stop is better than most large restaurants.Fast service, concerned and personable staff, friendly patronsIn a simple, modest, store front community restaurant.

We took our food to go and it came out pretty fast! Service was friendly and fast! We were in line but we didn't wait too long. We ordered a California burrito, fish burrito, and a horchata. Total cost was around $30. The best part we liked was the tortilla. My partner really liked her fish burrito because it tasted fresh and it had a lot of fish in it. The horchata in a bottle was pretty good too! I just wish they had ice. The salsa bar had a good variety. The place was decent and clean.

I got a carne asada burrito to go but I would love to go back and enjoy their little bar. Padre game was on and it looked like a great spot for a game. Service was prompt and my burrito and the salsa bar were excellent.

The food was good but we did get delivery but we didn't have any complaints. I'm sure the food is way better if you eat at the restaurant. I'd definitely eat here again. I think we will go in to check it out in its full effect next time. I have a feeling I'd give it five stars then.

I called in my order and it was ready right on time when I arrived. Staff was very nice and the food was so delicious! I got the chile relleno burrito and I think it's my new obsession
