I found Head's using the iExit app today and since it was rated high on Yelp, decided to give it a try. Good decision! First, if you realize as I do that some of the best BBQ is found in out-of-the-way, hole in-the-wall places, then you'll understand why I felt sure I should visit when I saw the pics of the place. Good news here - "out of the way" is less than a mile off the interstate on a little side street that starts with a few houses and quickly becomes small farms - down home people but very convenient for travelers like me. Then, when I walked in and asked about some of the sides and the lady at the counter said, "Well, I make the white beans myself and cut the potatoes for the hash brown casserole by hand", I knew what to order with the ribs and pork. My to-go order was brought to the counter about two minutes after I finished paying (literally!)...quicker than most fast food restaurants...by a gentleman that I assumed is the lady's husband. Obviously, those two are the owners. Hands-on, A+ service always makes me want to go back...if the food is good. And things just kept getting better from there! The half rack of ribs were cooked nicely and were very tasty. I ordered to go but was still a bit surprised the ribs weren't cut, so I'll know to ask for that next time unless I'm planning to take them home with me. The pork was chopped pretty fine, more than I prefer, but had a really nice smoky flavor and was just a little dry but not much (the only reason for my 4 rating rather than a 5). And like all good BBQ places (in my opinion!), they put the tasty, spicy vinegar-based sauce in a small container where you can take it or leave it, depending on your preference. Trust me - if you like good BBQ and homemade sides served by people who really appreciate your business, give Head's a try. You won't be disappointed! The sides were terrific! The white beans were well cooked and had a nice flavor. And the hash brown casserole - wow! Exceptional cheesy texture, fresh and obviously the lady wasn't kidding that they are homemade - that was apparent! I'd go back just for it! They also include a fresh homemade cornbread "hoecake" (fried light brown) with every plate - good texture and fitting complement with the meat and entire meal. If you can't tell by now - I'll be back the next time I'm traveling on I-24 through the Clarksville area!!

Best bbq I've had in a long time. The cornbread pancakes were to die for. The pie was soooo good and everything was very reasonably priced. Came all the way from Indiana and we're leaving satisfied

This is a true to life, honest to gosh, real BBQ Joint! About 8 years ago ole' man Head built a small metal building in front of the pit he's been cooking on for years. Cooking for himself, church groups, neighbors and anyone that had occasion to feed a group of people all those years he got real good at it. The little metal building houses a small prep kitchen, cash register, bread rack and 2 tables. I'm thinking that about 3 years ago he added on to the little building adding 3 more tables and a metal 599 carport with picnic tables. Pulled pork, ribs and chicken halves along with the standard sides and homemade fried pies are the menu. all made right there and you can tatse the love. Opens Thursdays, Fridays and Saturday for lunch and close a little before 7PM except for Saturday, until he sales out which usally is no later than 5 but usally closer to 3. Please be advised that Mr.Head is an ole country farmer and he feeds alot of the other farmers in the area, so thats a brunch of his clientele AND it also means you can get there a little before 10 and expect someone to be eating lunch!! You might need to understand that ole BBQ Pit he built that small metal building in front of is out to the side of his house and infront of one of his barns. So, A country BBQ joint really in the country, serving real pit BBQ by family members, in a building they built in there own yard! Good.. Real Good!!! The only reason he doesn't get 5 stars is..... well, I cook BBQ too (of course ya can't buy mine) so youll just have to take my word for the fact that umm... mine's better!!

We love this place! We've never eaten at the restaurant, we've only done take out. The ribs are excellent. The pulled pork is also good. We've had their white beans which are good. Their slaw isn't my favorite kind- it's sweet mayonnaise based (I prefer vinegar based). I only wish they had Mac and cheese-my favorite BBQ side! Overall, a great place for BBQ. Highly recommend!

Yuck, rather give no stars...Hash browns were horrible, white beans had no seasoning, the Cole Slaw was tasteless, and the BBQ was not pulled but ground and was mediocre

Lovely people-good, hot food. The barbecue is very tasty, tho at times the slightest bit dry. The dining area is cute with red and white checked tablecloths-plenty of room. My husband adores their bbq ribs! We are attempting to try everything on their menu-haven't been disappointed yet!

Pitiful BBQ. I think reviewer, Dr. P. was simply being kind. We've been passing the Head's BBQ sign for a couple of months and decided to check it out. The place was easy to find and had plenty of parking. Inside it was very cute and looked well cared for. We were so happy it smelled clean-but thankfully didn't smell of disinfectant. The kitchen was clean; floors and kitchen countertops all clean. Now we're really getting our hopes up!So we look at he menu. Standardly priced BBQ, not a lot of choices - but there's BBQ pork, chicken and ribs, so that sounds promising. The woman at the counter took our order- but was surprisingly unfriendly. "Whatever", we thought, maybe she's had a bad morning. A couple of minutes later, the ribs are packed in foil and the half chicken (a tiny, little-bitty chicken, mind you) in a little half box, and off we go home to try out the food.Oh, what a disappointment! The rib meat was so dried out and tough, we had to throw half of it away as it could not be chewed! The chicken was worse. Had that awful flavor of being a few days old. Completely inedible. We called over and spoke with the woman whom we presume was Mrs. Head to express our disappointment. She offered no kind words, no apologies nor any attempt to build customer relations with a new potential customer. Instead, said only that we could drive it all back and get a refund. Then I asked her, "Are you happy with the quality of the food you served us?" Without a pause, she said "Yes. People like it". Which leaves me with this: 1.) either these "people" she refers to are not accustomed to the flavor and texture that fresh, well-cooked food tastes like, or, 2.) this woman knew the food was old and decided to sell her soul to the devil for a buck. I won't be back, but if you go- I hope you have better luck!

Awesome little hole-in-the wall BBQ spot. Appears to be family-run and attracts the locals. Great prices. Picnic-table style atmosphere.
