The Roanoke is a beautiful and cozy restaurant in downtown Chicago with an expansive menu. To start, service is amazing: the host and our waitress were both just wonderful and made it a great experience.I appreciate the variety on the menu. To drink, the Timeshare and French Alexander are nice (stay away from the Lafayette - we did not like this so luckily our waitress switched it out for us!). To eat, we split quite a few things. I highly suggest the Campanelle which was a generous portion and the perfect vegetarian entree with a load of hearty mushrooms, spots of ricotta, and delicious truffle flavor. The Buffalo Cauliflower was perfectly crispy, and the Cheddar Biscuits are not to be missed with their incredible honey butter. The Brussels sprouts were good but would be even better if they were fried. For dessert, the cookie skillet and cobbler are solid but nothing to write home about.I'd skip the Cheese Curds (kind of bland and over-fried) and the espresso martini, which was too milky and watery.3.5 stars for food/drink but rounding up for excellent service!

Me and wife were in town and asked the hotel what they recommend for dinner. This place is what they recommended. We arrived and were greeted by a very friendly host. He seated us right away. The wife and I really liked the atmosphere. It was done really well inside. On to the food. We got the meatballs as an app. We both liked them. They were very solid. For mains I got the steak frites with fries and wife got the rotisserie chicken with garlic mashed potatoes and Brussels sprouts. I got the cookie and ice cream for desert and was extremely happy I did. I also felt the old fashioned I got was of good quality. The wife also like her wine. The steak was cooked really well. It was also seasoned really good. The fries were also delicious. For the price I was really impressed with the taste and quality. The wife's chicken may have been the best chicken I've had. It was fantastic. The mashed potatoes were also amazing. They were very garlic forward which for me was great but if not a garlic fan may not be for you. Brussel sprouts were also good. The host and waitress came by numerous times. The food was amazing and the price for the quality was terrific. All in all this was an amazing dinner and considering price, quality and service I have to say this is a 5 star location. This is one of the few times I have given a 5 star but for reasons above I believe it's well deserved.

A friend and I met for lunch on 3/22/24. We decided to go to Cardozo's. Unfortunately, no one ever came to tend to us and so we left and decided to come here. We both were pleasantly surprised when we walked in how nice it is inside. Cozy atmosphere. My friend ordered the steak pizza and I ordered the reuben sandwich and substituted the rye bread for brioche bread. It came with delicious fries. Wonderful food and service was awesome! Hearty portions (see pics)! We had a male waitstaff and we really enjoyed his attention to detail along with being friendly.I'm anxious to come back here again! I promise it will be soon. A+++!!

This place has fast service and big portions! As a mushroom lover, I really liked the Campanelle though it does become too mushroomy after a bit and I'd recommend sharing it instead. The breadcrumbs on top add EVERYTHING to the pasta. The cauliflower, on the other hand, was not my personal favorite. I usually love all things cauliflower, but I found this one hard to finish. The flavors were way too strong. Overall, a good dining experience but nothing too special.

The ambiance in this place is great. There's definitely lots to see and watch. The place is a vibe. The food was just as good. Our table sampled the fries, steak and chicken parm. Everything was great. The steak was flavorful, but did arrive a bit cool to the touch. Nothing so horrible that I didn't gobble it up.

Out of all the corporate lunch spots in the loop, this one was the best I've been to by far!! The service was great, the menu is huge, and the food was delicious!!!!We started with the cheddar biscuits served with salty honey butter and they were quite literally perfect. The best salty-sweet balance. Must get!!The power salad with salmon was the perfect entree. This salad was huge!! So many good textures from the kale, chickpeas, and apricots. The salmon was perfectly seasoned, fresh, and flavorful. I would love to come back here!!

Nice ambiance, quick and attentive service. We celebrated father's day here . The kids got burgers , I got poke bowl meh , my husband got the shakshuka ( eggs in tomato sauce) and mom got the fried chicken sandwich. I also had the grapefruit mimosa. Will definitely come back if in the area.

3.5/5Rotisserie Chicken was a great deal. The amount of chicken is generous. Brussels sprouts could have been flavored/cooked better, but eating it with the potatoes made up for the lack of flavor. Burger was disappointing. The bun couldn't handle the ingredients so it was extremely messy and not enjoyable to eat. However the fries were delicious. Service was nice, but lacking.

Usually, lying about the wine you served me even after I question it is an automatic 1-star. But they earn one back on the delicious cheese curds. But don't lie to people about the wine they're drinking!! I ordered the Taylor Fladgate 20-year Tawny Port. I was obviously served a Ruby Port instead. When our server came back, I pointed out the mistake, but he assured me that I had been poured the correct wine, so I asked to see the bottle. He came back with two bottles of Ports that were neither Taylor Fladgate nor tawny and said those were the only Ports they had. Then why did you lie and tell me it was Taylor Fladgate 20-year Tawny?!! That is not okay! I don't care if you're out of the wine I ordered. I don't care if I was accidentally served the wrong wine. I very much DO care if you lie to me about what I was served even AFTER I question it. People who don't know much about wines deserve the chance to learn. They deserve to be served what they actually ordered. Anyone who didn't know better would have thought that the Port they were served was a 20-year tawny, even though it tastes nothing like a 20-year tawny. That is not acceptable. If you want great cheese curds, this is your place. If you want to trust that you're actually drinking the wine you ordered, stay away.

What a great spot with great service and food offerings. We watched the wnba all star game Saturday night and the bartender was very engaging and added to the fun of our experience. The variety of food and drink offerings do not disappoint. The hostess with the dress vest and braids was very accommodating and checked on us often which was an extra surprise. We later learned it was the manager and we were impressed with the humble hospitality she provided. Thank you Roanoke. We will be back.
