What is wrong with management that they hire waiters that don't care? Are they going for an indifferent vibe? Two times in a row we have had the same exact experience. Maybe they have more business than they know what to do with.If it wasn't for the beautiful outdoor setting, and solid food and cocktails, this place would get a 1.

A Mercer Island STAPLE! I first visited here many years ago. This is the place to go for a good beer and decent food. I will admit I had a bit of sticker shock on the burger prices, but the food here is good. The servers and bar tenders are super pleasant and willing to offer beer suggestions. There is outdoor seating, but hard to come by on a beautiful day in Seattle!

My wife and I stopped by and we were thoroughly impressed with every aspect. This establishment offers an extensive menu of delicious food, making it a fantastic place to stop. The consistent bustling activity speaks to the undeniable appeal of this place. The service is always excellent which is why we keep coming back.

Husband and I stopped in for a bite to eat on a Sunday evening. There was plenty of seating, it was cozy and warm inside, and the music was great. The Roanoke has a very nice atmosphere.Ollie made wonderful drinks and was very attentive to us despite being busy at the bar. This was our first time visiting the Roanoke, and I already can't wait to go back!The food was good, but the prices were a bit high, which was the only drawback for me.

Love this local gem! Mercer Island has a prime location between Seattle and bellevue. However, unless you live there, there aren't many reasons to stop anywhere on Mercer Island. Roanoake definitely is one though. This timeless bar and pub has a family run feel to it. Is one of the longest running pubs in king county, and just feels like you're in on a secret when you stop by. The inside is fun and timeless. The porch is classic. The outdoor gazebos and seating out back is a lot of fun on a summer night ! Staff is friendly and prices are reasonable. Great place to go for a summer evening after work

Came here for dinner last week with my wife. The vibe of the bar is great for drinks but the meal I had didn't 'spark joy'. In the future, I think I'd rather go somewhere else for the meal, and then come to Roanoke for a drink. Will probably try something else off the menu at least once more before ruling out coming here for dinner. They were busy, but service was good.

This place has been around for over 100 yrs. It's a nice little local place. The food is ok. They have a regular bar menu. It's the place for drinking and eating, if you're hungry. The beer is cold and the drinks are made well. They are understaffed when the place gets busy but the staff runs around and does their best. They are always nice and attentive.

We have been here over the years and have always enjoyed the atmosphere, food and service. Tonight we waited 10 min to be acknowledged. Thank god for Dez'mon who came to the rescue when other servers turned a blind eye. He quickly wiped down our table and took our drink order. They must have e been busy as and another 5 min passed to receive our drinks. Our order was taken buy the gentleman who dropped off our drinks and again thank god for Dez'mon who checked on us only to find that whom ever took our order ignored it and never placed the order. Food can quickly and was super delicious. Had it not been for Dez'mon the stop tonight would have been a disaster. Dez'mon is a lifesaver 5 stars all day as well as the food and drinks. All other interactions dropped this encounter to a 3 sorry but please find more staff like Dez'mon.

We recently decided to try this place after visiting Luther Burbank Park on the Island, and it was super close by. I had read that it's somewhat of a tradition for natives to come here to celebrate their 21st birthday, and I was intrigued. The restaurant is pretty small but super cozy. We loved the chill vibe and friendly servers. I can imagine during winter it's even more cozy since it has a cottage feel. If you have a big(ish) group (4+) and the weather is nice, I'd recommend you sit by their bay view window towards the back of the restaurant to the left of the bar as they had somewhat of a view compared to the other seating. Others mentioned this, but the music was really good. If you're looking for a casual and cozy vibe, this is definitely the place. We only tried the chili, but we will be back to try some of their other dishes and grab more drinks.

Boy, what a downhill run. I ordered the ribeye steak meal and between the skimpy steak, there was a super small salad. The baked potato was fine. But it's a baked potato for gods sake. Most importantly the service was sub-par for what I would always have expected to be very good. Ok, it was busy. But not that busy. The waiter basically had no idea how to be in the spot with my drink order which took like 15 minutes. Then, I finally got to order my meal. Never asked me how I wanted my salad until I asked him. Lame. Not a bad price, but so average. Reminded me of Sizzler about 20 years ago. Not a compliment. Completely average food. And sub-standard service. You don't want that experience. I'll just order a sandwich next time. Hard to screw that up. Definitely a poorly-trained waiter. Used to love this place. But they certainly have a captive client base. What a pity.
