Favorite close-to-home Mexican restaurant. BIG (and good) drinks, BIG (and tasty) portions of food, great service. It's worth eating in the restaurant... er, we needed three refills of chips the other night... and did I mention the huge drinks? This is classic Mexican comfort food at its best; it will fill you up, you will be content, and the prices are reasonable for location. Came here on a Wednesday night and most of the tables were full. There's also a small bar in back with sports and drinks, as well as a number of tables in the front.

Outstanding food, far above the standard Tex-Mex found in typical "Mexican" restaurants. I had Mayan pork (excellent) with accompanying whole beans w/ condiments, and very tasty. Rice was simple but well-prepared. Service was prompt and friendly. The chips, dips, ( both red and bean) were very tasty, fresh, and appetizing. I've eaten there several times and never been disappointed. Highly recommend.

Our family gave a 2nd chance to this place and The food was ok, not the best but just ok, but the SERVICE was HORRIBLE, HORRENDOUS. Server was aggressive, condescending. My wife asked something from the menu and the server she replies " I don't know and I don't care, look at the menu and I only take orders from the menu, I just work here, if it is not on the menu just figure out yourself" We were so shocked, now thinking back we should just walked out from the restaurant and/or tell the manager. " The question was if the carne asada comes with a grilled jalapeño or if that can be order on the side"We will never come back there and I will tell all our friends and neighbors in Mercer island not to go there.

Riviera Maya is a Mexican restaurant on the south end of Mercer Island, and it's a pretty good one, too. There was a lot to choose from, with its large menu and margaritas the size of your face! My friend and I had a good time here for some post-tennis lunch. We visited Riviera Maya on a Sunday afternoon for lunch and the place was quiet, with just one other party dining in, which was nice. Located in a small business strip next to QFC, there was plenty of parking. We were able to be seated immediately soon after we arrived. My friend and I shared the nachos, which was solid. It was the perfect kind of food for after working up a sweat. I also had a jamaica, while my friend had a margarita, which was gigantic. The menu had a lot to choose from, with different, classic Mexican dishes. The portions were large, and we were also given complimentary chips, salsa and bean dip. Lots of food to be had here. Now I know where to eat at after my tennis lesson on Mercer Island. Riviera Maya was a good spot for some Mexican food, with very friendly staff. Portions were large and there is something for everyone here.

Service was excellent, food delicious, and huge margaritas. The picadillo was particularly tasty. They even had a variety of tasty hot sauces at the table. Definitely will be back.

Shhhh. This is a Mercer Island secret. Some of the best Mexican food can be found in a sleepy south end MI strip mall. You will be amazed at the selection of tasty quality dishes that awaits you. The lamb shanks are a savory sensation. Recently had the Cochinita pibil, an outstanding delicious pork dish with generous portions that will leave you satisfied and then some. Sure the prices are a little high (this is MI), but the portion sizes, quality, and taste are great. The service has always been friendly from the hard working staff. The restaurant can get busy and bustling during peak weekend times but I've never had to wait too long.

For one we only went here because we were waiting for our niece at the dance studio next door. Two we weren't even super hungry we got a meal to share and just the whole time it seemed like they were eyeing us after that. Once we finished our meal i got up to go pay upfront and one of the workers came up to us immediately (pretty sure they thought we were going to dip on our tab).. told them that i needed to use apple pay. After we paid we went to use the restroom and as we're washing our hands we see that the woman came to check the bathroom.. as if using the bathroom is out the ordinary. Anyways definitely didn't feel welcomed there and won't be coming back lol.

My family has decided to boycott this restaurant indefinitely. Despite being regular patrons, our recent experiences have been nothing short of disappointing. While the food was passable on previous visits, the glaring issue lies in the appalling treatment we received from the owner, Juan, and his staff. On one occasion, on cinqo de mayo, we were seated outside on the patio despite having minors with us, even though there was a sign posted that said "no minors". It was obvious they wanted to seat as many people as possible. On another visit, a member of the wait staff placed us in the bar area with our minor child, only for Juan to approach us and demand we leave the premises. We explained we were confused because despite their sign saying "No Minors" in the patio and bar, they still seated us in both areas. We did not ask to be seated in the bar area. Despite our attempts to explain the situation, he showed no willingness to accommodate us elsewhere in the restaurant and instead asked us to leave.Months later, hoping for a better experience, we reluctantly returned, only to be met with the same discourteous demeanor from Juan. Our attempt to address the previous incident was met with a dismissive attitude and an attempt to shift the blame onto us. It was abundantly clear that customer satisfaction was not a priority for him.Given the multitude of Mexican restaurants in the area offering better food, service, and treatment of their patrons, it's evident that this restaurant is undeserving of our business. We will not be back!
