I've been there 3 times now and I can say this is a decent American style comfort food diner spot, with kind expedient staff. Inside looks cool with a lot of nice random stuff going on all over the walls and ceiling. It's also fantastic that you can reserve your spot on yelp so you don't arrive waiting in line. My main issue is the food quality you're getting for the price. I'm not getting anywhere near diner price, especially for the "good, not great" quality of food. My half stack banana pancake, feta omelette, and French toast was $57 before tip and nothing about it (aside possibly the French toast) was great.Staff is always friendly, and Katie was my kind server this time. Girlfriend and I reserved our spot on a Sunday early afternoon while we were 25 min away and our seats were ready when we got there, which was awesome. We ordered the feta scramble, banana walnut pancakes and French toast. The food came surprisingly fast, like less than 10min, which is impressive since it was fairly busy on Sunday afternoon. After trying the food, however, I would've appreciated more time in making the food better. The pancakes were absolutely drenched in whatever sauce it came in, there was no need for the syrup since this thing was drowning in the other liquid. It was also exceedingly sweet, so I could only stomach 4 bites and take the rest home. That may be the norm for their pancakes, but it's a first for me. The potatoes were bland, no flavor whatsoever. Just a crispy texture, that's it. The feta scramble was bland too, with the cheese only thing giving it flavor. The red sauce didn't help either. I've always liked their French toast and it didn't disappoint my girlfriend's first experience trying it. So that was nice. Overall, it's a "decent, not terrible" spot that offers cool decor and kind staff, consistently expedient service, and "ok" food. Again, this is after 3 visits, so I'd ultimately say some of their other food is worth a try at least. Again, their downside is quality of some of their food vs price. I understand the egg shortage is influencing the price but that doesn't excuse bland potatoes and scramble, with drenched up pancakes for the high price.

First time trying this place with friends. We put ourselves on waitlist on Saturday around 10am, got seated around 11am. Suggest you to go early or put yourself on waitlist ahead of time. Due to the shortage of eggs, they charge you extra for any dish that has eggs in it. (Literally almost everything has eggs in it. I believe it's $1 per egg)I ordered the following: - Loaded avocado toast: Its good for the first few bites, then bread gets saggy and not as great anymore. - Marie's magic mocha (more hot cocoa and didn't taste any coffee...)- Kids pancakes with scramble egg and bacon - Kids grilled cheese with french friesOverall good portion, and taste good. The place has all sorts of random decors. Servers are friendly.

Let's start with the positives, it's great that you can check in advance via yelp's waitlist. Most of the servers were very friendly and helpful (which is why this is a 2 star not a 1 star) except for this one in particular that I will speak about later. Food (but not the main reason yet) - I've been here in the past and the food has always been pretty decent, but not today. The chilaquiles were "gray" and disappointing. Maybe 5 half pieces of chicken for an extra $4.99 charge and just mainly some beans and cheese on there. The Spanish frittata was basically half cheese. The layer of cheese was so thick and even as a cheese lover, that was too much. **But these aren't even the negatives that warranted such a low review. It was the action of one of the waitresses (I'm going to say she might be the owner). From the moment we sat down until the moment we got the check, the time that passed was exactly 22 minutes. Yes, I checked because I was in shock. She handed us the check saying "no rush", but that saying doesn't negate the action, the action has already been done. I get it, it's busy, but you can't even let me enjoy a nice brunch with my family on a holiday for more than 10 minutes? And yes it was about 10 minutes because there was the menu time, order time, water time, then food arriving time. Don't you think that's ridiculous? You got what you wanted, mission accomplished. I'm shocked at myself for even leaving a decent tip.**Also, there needs to be a better line-up system. You can't have 15 people standing inside and if you're the closest table to the door, having literally people sighing and look and the surrounding tables and constantly asking the workers how long the wait will be.

Met some friends for an early breakfast to catch up on this MLK Day holiday. Seated immediately and had a cup of coffee in minutes. Our waitress was knowledgeable about the menu and service was fast (my coffee cup was never empty). This is a great place to chill and chat with friends over a large tasty breakfast. Five stars all the way.

Violent Rooster is the perfect place to go for brunch. We got the breakfast burrito with chorizo, homestyle potatoes, and country fried steak. Everything was so good. My favorite was the breakfast burrito. I've had so many different breakfast burritos in my life but never with chorizo. It was truly a game changer and I feel like I'll probably get chorizo every time in my burrito now. The restaurant has a very unique vibe inside but I really enjoyed it. Everyone was so friendly and I highly recommend coming here for brunch.

I'll be honest, we came with no high expectations of this place other than it looked like a typical diner with fun and quirky decor. I was so wrong. First and foremost the wait time was not bad at all, they told us 45 and it felt less than that. Our server was great and thorough and prompt! Thank you Trevor! The coffee. Was so good. It looks like your normal diner coffee in a mug from a coffee pot but the taste was so strong and delicious I regret not taking some to go and the refills were free! All our orders came out perfectly and together. I love when they serve everyone at the same time. I ordered the Fetta Me Betta scramble, (the names of the food on the menu were hilarious and I loved the quirkiness of this place overall) I LOVED it and inhaled everything, they have this spicy ghost pepper ketchup at the table that went perfectly with the homestyle potatoes. The salsa that comes with the egg scramble was even better and the rye toast was perfectly buttered. That plate was so delicious!!! I can't believe I ate everything in general the portions are huge!!I'm sitting here writing this and literally can't believe how incredible this little spot is, it's everything you want out of a traditional diner but with flavor and character!! I can't wait to comeback.

Too loud! Music is great but so loud that guest are shouting to speak to each other. This is our first time here. It's a nice breakfast Sunday morning, not a dance party.Update: requested to lower music sound "a notch". Yay they did! Thank you. Now to evaluate the rest. Waiting to be seated. It's a 30-40 minute wait.Up update: Now that our meal time complete, it was an excellent experience. Great food, great service; kindness in the air. The eggs Benedict (original) are the best in CHino Hills!

Let me start off by saying that I really wanted to like this place. Ambience: 5/5Service: 2/5. The hostess needs to know that she gives the first impression for the restaurant. Maybe she was having a bad day but a simple hello and smile would have went a long way. The waitress with the red hair who got us our drinks was really great. She was friendly and you can tell hard working. Our waiter was friendly enough but he never came back after taking our order. He never checked to see if we needed anything or refill our drinks. He showed up at the end when we had to ask another waiter for the check. Food:I had the big country breakfast. The potatoes were tasty, eggs under seasoned, and the sausage was good. My only criticism would be the biscuit and gravy. It was very dense and dry. I couldn't take more than a few bites. The sauce lacked flavor. 4/5Fabulous French toast- Dry. My son ate only half of it even though he was still hungry. 2/4Robbie's Real Deal Chilaquiles- we added chicken which was over cooked and dry. It lacked adequate amount of sauce. 2/5I liked the vibe of the place but I don't think we will be back.
