Everyone please give this place a try. This restaurant specializes in authentic regional dishes not common in most Mexican restaurants. We were looking forward to trying their barbacoa but it's only available on the weekends. We tried some of their other specialties instead.FOOD : The salsas are fresh and very tasty. Spicy but not too much so you can enjoy the flavors of the food. My husband and I tried their flautas filled with chicken in a green mole sauce, flautas with chicharrón prensado and a fish taco. All full of flavor and perfectly balanced. The rice and beans were good. The food tastes like it was made in your Mom's kitchen. Portion sizes are normal except for the taco, that thing was huge.SERVICE : I can't say enough about the hospitality we received. Arthur was our server and he was very friendly and pleasant. He explained the menu to us and was very attentive to our needs. Really nice neighborhood restaurant and looking forward to trying their barbacoa next.

On a whim, we drove by for the 4th time in the past few months, just to see if we might ever find this new spot open. I had my doubts it was really in business because it never had been when we checked before. But surprise, surprise! This time it was.First impressions. It had a very lackluster, stark, colorless interior. There was some lively but loud Mexican music coming from speakers, and there were no customers whatsoever. It was hard to convince myself to stay, and there were so few reviews. But then, a shy, soft spoken young man came out from the kitchen and enthusiastically told us a little about their menu. We decided to stay and give them a chance. The first thing we found out was, this was a family run shop, mother and son I believe, and their cuisine was Hidalgo style, a state in Central Mexico. Mom was the chef. The menu was fairly predictable for these parts, and the prices were somewhat high for dinners, but more reasonable for other fare. I think, now, this was better justified once we saw the portion sizes.Hidalgo-style Lamb Barbacoa. I was unfamiliar with this dish, but hubby is a lamb lover. This is a slow cooked, fairly lean, shredded lamb dish that is served with a cup of consomme on the side. He found it to be delicious and very moist. To me, it was good, but I felt it was a little gamey for my tastes. It is served with rice and beans were rather bland and unremarkable. But their tortillas are handmade and delicious. This specialty dish is available on the weekends. My choice was the Steak Chilaquiles which he said was quite popular and is served with either a red or green sauce. My chips were smothered in their delicious, traditional verde sauce, sprinkled with white cheese, sour cream, and cilantro. The steak was asada style, and had a delicious lime marinade flavor. I was quite pleased and would definitely return for this.Their complimentary chips and salsa are very good. Their lamb is Halal and come from the halal market, Spice It Up, across from them. You will not find pork on the menu, but I am not sure if that is for religious reasons, or not. They are located in a small plaza, and unfortunately well hidden from the street. Worth finding.

I love Vega's! I originally came in on business, but fell in love with the food! I always order the shrimp enchiladas! It's my favorite!! I also love their chilaquiles and asada fries! Definitely a must try in Corona!! I know they recently relocated so their business hours may have changed!

Just had an early burrito for lunch, the food was not hot, so I had a few bites and tossed it. Im hoping it was just a fluke.

We found a gem restaurant tonight. A small family owned business. We have a lot of Mexican restaurants here in Corona. But this one is authentic and delicious. We had the molcajete and omg was it delicious! Everything freshly made including the salsas and tortillas! I'm a tough critic because i can cook hahaha! The cook came out to chat us up. They just opened a few months ago! Please support so they stay open!
