Great space. Extensive photography exhibit. It's nice and quiet, which provides the viewer with the space and mindset to appreciate and contemplate. My favorite exhibit were the old photographs framed in the intricate frame made of pine cones.

I was very fortunate to hear about UCR ARTS in a KCRW newsletter this past Spring. I visited this large and spacious museum in historic downtown Riverside during the "Facing Fire" exhibit that opened in late February 2020.Admission is only $6.00 per person and you have access to three floors: the basement which is houses a small collection, the main floor which houses the "Facing Fire" exhibition through August and many other works, and the third floor which with it's unique set up of walkway plank grating.Make your visit to UCR Arts part of an afternoon in downtown Riverside which offers much to explore and enjoy. Enjoy your visit!

Never knew this great space was in Riverside. The current exhibition on wildfires was very well displayed. Take a few minutes to watch the video, as well. Unbelievable images! Also really enjoyed the smaller collection of art works in the main gallery. Looking forward to future exhibitions.

Cute little museum showcasing a lot of the work of various artists. It's free for UCR students and $3 for seniors so it's nice to go in and just enjoy some quiet time form the hustle and bustle of Downtown Riverside but you will really get through this museum in no more than 30 minutes.

Awesome gallery. Lots of historical stuff, as well as contemporary, and everywhere in between. Favorites we're the stereoscopic photo station, and the large camera obscura upstairs. Must sees. Old camera collections were awesome too.Kind of small, but definitely would recommend checking it out.

Came here to complete a History of Photography class assignment and made a nice day trip out of it. I drove from Orange County in the early afternoon and got here at 4 pm with an hour to walk around and take notes on photographs. I appreciate the effort put into the building but it was a bit underwhelming. I expected more photographs but since I'm a student the $3 fee was waived. I completely ignored the sculpture room because I was disinterested in that part altogether. The photos take up about three stories. They have a Camera Obscura you can walk into and see the image of the trees and buildings from across the street. They also had a room with a video playing and I had no idea what was going on in there. Some of my favorite things to look at were the daguerreotypes, cartes-de-visites, and the Ansel Adams prints. Once that sun leaves the sky, I, too, leave Downtown Riverside. The place is open from 12-5 most days (check online). Got to see Larry Clark's Unruly Bodies and they were very captivating! Those took up most of my time and I didn't even write about those for my essay! I say time well spent, however.

This is a very nice museum that has been in Riverside for years. They have a good selection of old cameras that show the history of photography. They also have many different kinds of photo exhibits. Upstairs they have a real pinhole camera that is the size of a room. An image of the building across from this building is projected on the back wall of this dark room. Very interesting. They have some activities for kids as well. They have three stories of exhibits. The only thing that I was a little disappointed about was that they could fill this museum with so many more exhibits. On one story of the building there is a walkway that is void of anything. That whole walkway could be filled with more information about photography or more pictures. Besides needing more exhibits, if you are into photography, this is a place to go. I had a good time looking at everything here.

Interesting place. An new exhibit was being installed when I visited. Other galleries have different photographs from various artists. Documentary to artistic. Top floor has many different cameras. Certainly worth a visit for anyone that has an interest in photography.
