Loved this gym, just a little too far for me. Owner is so nice! Helpful and welcoming. Kickboxing kicked my behind but it was great!

Jujitsu, classes don't start when they say they're going to they start about 15 minutes after 7, and they usually stop before 8, so you're not even getting a full hour of class. Most of the time, it's a blue belt teaching the classes. Once I realized that the classes didn't go as advertised.I tried to cancel, but was told that it has to be 30 days.Or something along those lines? Which then kept me there for another month? I tried contacting somebody to cancel. They took my information. Said that somebody would call me back. Nobody did which then went into another month. I tried doing it again. It is now going on the 4th month and I'm still trying to get them to cancel instead of canceling. They harass you wanting call records from months ago, which is Redundant and has nothing to do with the fact that I'm canceling, so please cancel my membership. This place is more for Zumba or cardio kickboxing, and the gym. Maybe a little bit of racquetball, or some karate classes, but jiu, jitsu, u shouldnt waste ur money

I've been a member here for about a dozen of years so I think it's finally time to Yelp review them. I'm torn. If I let the secret out about this gem of a gym then I risk it getting overcrowded but then again, maybe there's someone out there looking for a place as low-key as this. Full disclosure - this gym is old. The parking lot and the building have "seen things" if you know what I mean. There's no pool and the locker room spa has never worked since I've been here. Same can be said for the elevator. There's no bright paint on the walls and there's advertisements as old as I am I'm sure. That being said why 5 stars? Because this gym is a gym! The weights are all here, the equipment, treadmills, ellipticals, stairmaster etc etc. The people here? No showmanship, we mind our business, and we work out. There's all sorts of ages, weights, and fitness levels here and no one cares. They have a smattering of classes led by instructors throughout the week. There's karate and jujitsu for kids(separate but hosted here so how cool to workout while your kiddo is in class). During normal "work hours" you'll see a lot more of the senior 60+ crew and there also is a group of special needs individuals that show up. In the evenings I've seen racquetball going on and there's a small lounge area where people can watch the people playing. I can't stress enough how normal this place is, it's not rush rush get out of the way for others and it's just a good vide all around. This is a gym for the locals!

Solid group of people to learn some martial arts from! The scheduling is very organized and the facility has plenty of space for whatever activities you are doing! I highly recommend this gym over any others in the area.

My daughter loves it. Her self esteem is improving and she's 16. She is not like when she first started coming here. Her body is getting fit, she's making better food choices and drinks lots more water. Her cardio has improved. We thank Matt for his passion for the sport and coaching. Definitely the best of the best. The entire staff is outstanding, we feel so welcomed and like we are family can't say enough about Matt and his hard work. Thank you.

Great place for competition! There are a lot of great players that come to this gym for racquetball and paddleball. The only thing that I would complain about is that people put chewed gum in the back corners of the court.... but that's not the gyms fault, just gross people.

Signed up with tournament house because it's super close to my house. All was fine and dandy until I realized I didn't want to pay for a gym that wasn't well maintained. When I signed up I asked specifically if it was contract and I was told no it is month to month and you can cancel anytime. Went in to cancel my membership (after 2 months) told by another worker that my fiancée and I were indeed on either a 6 month or year contract and I'd have to call a number to talk to billing. That day I had also asked to see if my parents still had an account with me on it. Only to find out 2 days later that I have 2 memberships with them and he failed to tell me. I pay one account and my family apparently pays for the other one. I called again to explain my situation since I have waited 2 weeks and never received a call back from the accounting lady. The gentleman on the phone said I'd have to call her again on Wednesday. So I explained why I was calling and he told me that I needed to talk to someone different on Monday. It took a total of 5 different calls just to be told my fiancée cannot cancel because he signed a contract. As a BUSINESS, if someone tells you there is no contract, why should I question them? They reviewed the two accounts that I had (a process that took 3 days) and did refund the money for the second account that I was paying for but now refuse to let my fiancée cancel. This gym is not well maintained either, for 25 or so dollars a month , LA Fitness can give you a similar price with Better equipment. Not entirely sure why it is so hard to get things done with them, but I do not recommend. Also if you do indeed have to talk to Anyone about billing etc she can be a bit condescending when you don't agree with her. She also interrupted me several times on the phone. The whole situation was not handled very well...two stars instead of one for actually having wi-fi.

I was a member of Tournament House for the past two years. For the last 18 months, I have been actively thinking about cancelling my membership and finally did this week. The Good:1) Some of the trainers are excellent, especially Jack2) It has some great, solid, old school weight training equipment not easy to find in some of the newer gyms3) There is a good camaraderie amongst the people using the weight-training equipment. The Bad:1) The place is a dilapidated wreck. 2) The elevator has not worked in years. 3) The men's locker room has a hot tub that has been covered over with plywood because it does not work. 4) The floors in the weight-training area had originally been designed for racquetball courts. Rubber matting was thrown over the wooden floors, but they are steadily breaking down under the wear and tear of weights been dropped on them. Holes and soft spots have appeared everywhere, masked by the rubber mats. I have twisted my ankle more than once, and finally told my trainer that there were certain exercises that I simply would not do out of concern for injuring myself seriously if I were to step in one of the holes while carrying weights. 5) The place is often overrun with kids. My trainer repeatedly has had to chase underage minors out of the weight-training area, since they were using the weight equipment as jungle gyms.6) The parking lot is so poorly maintained that the concrete curbs are crumbling and rusty rebar is exposed, creating a real health hazard. The Ugly:Everything looks like it is in a state of decay. Huge signs for businesses that have long since gone dark hang on the walls. The walls are scuffed and stained and need a thorough painting. There have been half-hearted attempts to paint some areas in a different color in the past, but none of those painting jobs were ever finished, creating a real sense that the business owner simply doesn't care about his business or his clientele. Finally, while most of the staff have been great to work with, one particularly obnoxious staff member named Tony has been so insufferable that multiple members have quit over his treatment of them. On three separate occasions, when the computer check-in system hiccuped, he barked out at me that my membership had been cancelled because my credit card had been declined. In every one of those cases, I had been billed as normal and had paid off my credit card those months. Instead of simply asking me if he could make sure my credit card expiration date had been updated and other information was correct, he turned what could have been a perfectly routine customer service interaction into a false accusation. The place has some good bones, but it is falling apart. For my safety and self-respect, I had to leave.

I'm new to Riverside. The staff is friendly. The weightlifting crowd has a cool relaxed tone. It's not full of loud obnoxious people. It offers a variety of martial arts and fitness programs. You can't get bored here. It's not for the uppity trendy individual that's there for appearances but If you are focused on making some healthy progress then this is a good place to start. It even has a physical therapist on-site that helped me through some pulled muscles.
