The Upper House

3.5 stars. A Thursday in mid-December is when I tried this place for the first time. I got takeout. Overall, I liked the food and would go there again.chicken fried rice - I asked them to make it using brown rice which they did and it was goodchicken lo mein - tastymushroom chicken - good and a lot of chicken, but hardly any mushroomscucumber salad - not as vinegary as I likevegetable egg rolls - got free with my my order and they tasted ordinarycoconut pineapple smoothie - I asked to make it using (non-dairy) coconut milk, but I think that confused the employee, so I don't know if they used coconut milk instead of regular milk, but there was no pineapple flavor at all

Our go-to place when we want cook to order meals for pick-up. Our family enjoys their sweet and sour pork, shrimp with broccoli and sweet pea & popcorn chicken. The place is cute and cozy. They also own the Mongolian restaurant in Claremont that I have yet to try.

Prices are way too expensive. Use to be decent priced but order string bean chicken dish and it was $18.56 for light amount of chicken and green beans. Plus this dish comes with no side rice compared to other local Chinese restaurants that give you a small side white rice.

The staff were friendly, the food was hot. I really liked the selection on the lunch menu, and the hot and sour soup! The Thai tea with boba was also yummy. I highly recommend!

I must admit I don't know why I waited so long to take that trip to Flavortown! I missed it so much. The food is as fresh and tasty as it was when I first came several years ago. They consistently prepare and cook good delicious quality food! I am so happy they are still around for us. Everything is delicious! Takes care of your cravings! Service is friendly and quick. I highly recommend.

The food was expensive but in seeing how many stars and remarks thought I would try. I have always tried to fine sour and sour pork in so many places like The House of Louie before it changed. The House of Bennie was closed. I have found nothing but crap.... The food from this place is not worth your money!!!Also The Great Wall Restaurant was the best !!!

We LOVE the Upper House! The food is always fresh and ready quickly. The people here are very hard-working and nice. Food and drinks are always delicious too! This is our new go to spot for lunch and dinner.

Upper house had been our stable for Chinese food for 10 years. It was arguably the only authentic Chinese food within Claremont city limit. We've always kept one of their menu in our drawer when we crave for Chinese food but didn't want to drive to Chino Hills or Rowland Heights. But it has gone down hill since pandemic. First, major price hike, but that's understandable. Everybody raised their price. We started going out less and less. But the most recent trip to Upper House not only 3 dishes cost me $50 but they tasted so blend. It felt like they changed chef or something. Pineapple chicken, shredded pork with sweet sauce all taste the same! Shredded pork supposed to have this unique sweet and tangy spicy taste! All I can taste was salt and starch. What happened to them??

This place is a local gem. The food is delicious and fresh. They are open on Mondays, too, when I somehow get my craving for their dumplings and soup. Try their walnut shrimp if you like shrimp. It is our favorite.

they are a small walk in restaurant. Well maintained and comfortable seating with excellent service. The food is outstanding! gourmet style and excellent plating! delicious! all kimds of different dishes to get and it's all made to order and fresh! They have great lunch specials for under 20 bucks! wow! I found a great place for lunch and dinner!
