The Oak Glen Steakhouse & Saloon

Had a nice time and a tasty meal with friends, in the Bar area. Johnathan, our server, was excellent!The portions are big and great for sharing.

We just arrived to Oak Glen and dying to get a bite to eat. Just down the road from our stay, this sit down spot offered great food and plenty of space for any event. NFL playoff were displayed but the crowd was calm enough for conversation, a good mix. I thought prices were ok given it's a steakhouse but I honestly expected more from some of the orders. My Prime Rib steak was looking unappealing sear wise; color great on one side but other was a mean grey.Otherwise the drinks were delicious and I hope i can give it another shot in the future.

Diane and I returned here with another couple after a long layoff. We were seated in the bar area because we were told the restaurant space is now only opened on weekends. A Shrimp Cocktail and Half Caesar Salad were good, and my 7 oz. Filet medium rare as ordered, along with a tasty Grilled Shrimp Skewer.Unfortunately, a Giant Baked Potato was indeed very large but it looked better than it tasted; it was somewhat hard inside. Sauteed Mushrooms were good to add to the steak, and Bearnaise Sauce excellent. But service was slow, and our waitress made me finish a second glass of water to receive more Iced Tea in the same glass, after she had mistakenly filled a finished Iced Tea with water. At first I thought she was kidding about this, but she was not! Listed prices were on the level of a high-end, elegant steakhouse, which this pretentious place is decidedly not. XXX-1/2 stars overall on this latest and probably final visit.

We were craving the Nashville Chicken Sandwich so drove up from highland today. What a disappointment. Service and cleanliness great as usual, but I'm afraid the chef lost his recipe book! The chicken wasn't breaded and crisply fried as it always has been. The piece of chicken was small, silver skin not removed, very close to undercooked. There were no pickles or Cole slaw on the sandwich. The brioche was soggy, and there was a minimal splotch of the fabulous sriracha aioli sauce... I'm so glad we shared our sandwich rather than buying two ($24 each) as we were so grossed out. The prices seemed to have been increased on everything on the menu, and I overheard ladies in the restroom complaining about drinks costing $15! Applebees has a great chicken sandwich deal for $10. And they haven't lost their cookbook. I must give kudos to the waiter chasing us to the parking lot to return our sweaters which we had forgotten, and the manager took care of another customer who was having a medical emergency. Good people. But they need to have a chat with the chef...maybe have him read the menu descriptions before he blows another customer experience.

Hidden gem! From the parking lot you get a beautiful view of the mountain & from the restaurant even nicer views. The inside is very clean and comfortable. Great country music. Food was delicious! Menu has lots to choose from for anyone's taste. Service was slow - so I would rate 4.5 stars instead of 5 because of it

Omg the service was exceptional Stephanie are waitress was SO nice and a young man Casey who worked there stopped to talk to us he was so friendly. Now food was really good I had a burger my husband had the dip both awesome

Are food was perfectly cooked. My sones New York strip was beyond imagination. It squirted when bitten. I had a small section of a absolute monster chicken fried steak. My wife's prime rib was a larger cut than ordered and awesome. Service was on point. Black Angus wishes their food was half as good.

Usually I love to help a business out and debunk the bad reviews but...Presentation was nice, I ordered the filet mignon however; not sure what I was served, I turned it over and unfolded it, it was most definitely a flank cut and the green beans were greasy and bland, I never thought I'd say this but thank goodness for the A1 sauce, it saved the meal.The ribeye was good and well cooked however.Overall, would not recommend.

Best atmosphere and best service you can get. The food is nothing short of amazing. My personal favorite is the Mac and cheese. We ordered the half chicken and the Salmon, both were cooked perfectly. The mash potatoes were also delicious. Tip: expect to lose cell service up here. They do offer WiFi.

I think, (just my opinion) that the ambiance could have been better. For a touristy, mountain, resort I think it should look more like a rustic restaurant. Service was excellent. Our order was taken promptly, food quality and taste was ok. But for the price we paid we found it wasn't worth it. Sorry to say we won't be going back.
