Love love love the way this place looks as you approach. My wife and I definitely felt like we had been here before. Upon entering we loved the red seats and booths, the great brick and eaves over the host table, bar and other areas. The fire place pit was fabulous like a time warp especially with my man Howie singing in his tux.If you like an old place with style and charm you will love this place. There are people out there who do not appreciate history and classics, they should probably stick to predictable chain restaurants. This place has fabulous drinks, giant steaks, loaded potatoes and a fancy bread basket( warm up the butter).By the way we recognized it for a reason, originally designed by John Clearman of the North Wood Inns and steak n stein, a few of my favorites!

I had taken my wife here a couple of years ago for Valentines Dinner, and that experience was not the best. They overbooked the evening and many folks had their original reservation time slip by over 30 minutes. The place is under new management, and I took my wife there again this year for Valentines....and boy what a difference. The reservations were very well managed, you could see the flow of folks coming in and going out was very well balanced. We got to our table on time. Dinner was delicious, drinks were great...no complaints. Highly recommend...!!

We drove from Los Angeles just to see this vintage masterpiece. It was so much better than we ever imagined. The restaurant has been immaculately restored and kept every inch of vintage character in place. If you appreciate Madonna inn or Tam O Shanters you absolutely must see this place. The food and service were top notch. We went on Valentine's Day, the 3 course meal was so delicious and cooked to perfection. The food and entertainment created a wonderful night to be remembered.

I came here on a Saturday night with my husband. We had a reservation and were seated quickly. We sat with a view of the live entertainment but we were also in the corner. They brought out bread and this veggie app that was free. The food did take some time to arrive. My chicken was good it had a nice mushroom sauce. My husbands lab was overcooked. We also got lobster Mac and cheese that was just okay and I didn't like the brussel sprouts. The server also forgot about our 2nd order of drinks, which is not a big deal we didn't need it. Overall for the price of the food I didn't feel like it was worth it. I did like the inside design and lights on the tree. Probably won't be coming back. Also, we had leftovers. On the way home the bag broke from the side and the leftovers fell out. How cheap is the bag to break that easily.

I came across The Magic Lamp Inn on Instagram and I jumped at the opportunity to come here! Our Anniversary was around the corner, I requested my lover to bring me here to celebrate our Anniversary. We made a reservation through Yelp. I understand the history of this iconic place, and I'm SO beyond excited they are open again. I understand they closed during covid (or something). We arrived (1/11/25 at 5pm ish) we sat at the bar and waited for our table, first we sat on the side by the piano player. I ordered a cocktail- it was a berry martini (don't recall the exact name) and it was delicious. The bar is super cute with a live piano player and I love the old hollywood feel. We also enjoyed the live singer in the other room next to the fire place. I love the old hollywood details like the live singer who was dressed like she was from the old Marlilyn Monroe days, it was super cute , she was singing on an old fashioned microphone and it was so nice to listen to her, very relaxing and nice touch. The fireplace was nice to sit next to, it was a cold evening. The entire ambiance is so nice, I can't articulate how nice it was, I felt good being there. It made me SO HAPPY!!!After a little while, (it didn't seem long at all) we were seated. We were seated in the back room away from the live music which was nice and private feeling (I love that). Even the chair I sat on felt important, it was big with a big high back, very nice touch. Our server was really nice and promptly greeted us. We ordered some appetizers- bone marrow and beet salad. Both were very YUMMY and came out promptly. Meals - I got the airport chicken (or whatever it's called) OMG it was so tender and fell off the bone- it was seasoned to perfection and melted in my mouth. Hubby got the filet and we shared a loaded baked potato and asparagus. The baked potato was huge and yummy and the asparagus was tender and had a hint of lemon. His filet was so tender and also flavored to the perfect salt and temperature. We were beyond pleased with our food so far. We also ordered the cheesecake and the chocolate cake (both delicious) and during dessert we were delighted to have a magician come to our table. He did some cool magic tricks that left us baffled and intrigued. So between the history of this place, the ambiance, live music, wonderful service and yummy delicious food - cocktails - and overall wonderful experience I highly recommend this place. I cannot wait to come back. Also side note I really appreciate the dress code here, it so nice to come to a place with standards and class. I also love to dress up and it was nice to go out and have a cocktail and listen to music and wear a nice dress and high heels .The live music and magician were also such a nice touch. All the staff we encountered were all great from when we walked in- the hostess to the bartender to the waitress, to the live musicians, and the cool magician (wowza). Everyone was very attentive and friendly and pleasant. Thankyou again it was a nice memorable, special anniversary dinner. We will definitely come back.

Really enjoyed the live music, old school cool ambience, and delicious classic appetizers and steaks! Service was also top-notch love the variety of bread and pickled vegetable platter that was served before the meal. We highly recommend for a fun date night , birthday, or family get together.

The lamp has been relit, but some of the magic was missing on a Saturday night visit. I chalk this up to some reopening pains, and I hope they get their mojo back soon. The place looks great since it was reopened. I love the light up menus- I wish more restaurants had those. The atmosphere was upscale with a nod to the past. The magician that goes to table to table adds a nice touch, and our entire party is still trying to figure out his tricks. The service seemed disjointed and did not flow as expected. We later learned that their entire ticketing system had gone down - what a disaster for a Saturday night. All of us ordered prime rib and unfortunately the requested temperature was not right for all 3 orders. The sides were also cold - garlic mashed potatoes and creamed corn. The food was tasty , just not at the top of the class for this historic restaurant. A manager came by and did apologize for the difficulty that evening. He appreciated the feedback we provided him about our dinner and offered a complimentary dessert which we declined. Great potential - we will give it another try in 6 months to see if they worked the kinks out. We have great memories of this restaurant in the past and we hope it returns to its glory days.

Hi everyone, I always wanted to come to the Magic Lamp Inn. They were on a hiatus for a while, but they are back! Old classic style and charm of historic route 66. You step inside and you are immediately immersed in the fine architecture of the 1950's.The hostess will warmly greet you and escort you to a grand fire place with a spectacular copper hood and on the weekends live music singing songs of the period while your table is prepared. Our server was fabulous explaining and answering all questions. There's a full bar and we ordered a cosmo and an old fashion. Excellent. There's a magician walking around performing at table side. Fabulous. The food menu is just enough to satisfy meat lovers, seafood and vegetarian. As with most fine steakhouses the sides are extra, but enough to share. I ordered the wedge salad and the server recommended to split it between the two of us and I gotta tell you, the shares we received each would've been a single serving elsewhere. The French onion soup was delicious. They were out of prime rib, but we went on a Sunday and they are closed on Monday and Tuesday, so it makes sense. So instead, I ordered the linguini and Lisa ordered the salmon. I will have to go back for the prime rib and chocolate cake. They were out of that too. Must've been a busy weekend. With that said, I think it is recommended to make reservations if you're planning on a Friday or Saturday visit. It was a Sunday night when we went and it was still quite busy. The chef came out to say hi and asked us how our meal was. He apologized for not having any more prime rib, but I said that we will return. The bar/lounge area is grand with wonderful wood working and pictures and memorabilia from their past. We will be going here when the bar at the Sycamore across the street is packed. There's plenty of parking around the restaurant and the parking lot is big. There's a dress code but I guess as long as you don't show up in torn jeans and a t shirt you should be fine. You just don't see this kind of architecture in a restaurant that much anymore. I recommend a visit. It's gonna cost a pretty penny but I feel is worth it. Please help support your local favorite small businesses.

The staff, the food and the service was top notch. And the ambiance is great. Not to mention the decor. They had a live lounge singer and a magician. Both were great. In the bar area they had a pianist that was also great. This place reminds me of the days I spent with my dad. Great place, I definitely recommend it.

just came from having dinner at the newly re-opened Magic Lamp Inn and it was spectacular! Not only was the staff over the top with genuine hospitality, but thefood was delicious! the Chilean Sea Bass was the best I'ever had , and the Filet Migon, cooked to perfection! Back in the day, if you ever went to Frank & Mussos in Hollywood, it has that same nostaigic feeling and beautiful decor. Willdefinitely be coming back for Valentine's Day and referring this restaurant to all my friends and family. Thank you for making my evening one I'll never forget. Thanks, Blake A.
