The Axe Lair

This was such an amazing experience! Went for a date night and didn't know what to expect. We were checked in by Matt who gave tips on how to throw each item- we got all the items. He was super kind and super helpful, though I was still struggling at first to get anything to land. I was really feeling defeated, but Cori came by and helped me fix my throw. I was killing it with the axe! We also did the rage room, and it was so much fun. My date and I left laughing and so glad we did it! The team constantly checked in on us and made sure we knew how much time we had left. I honestly can't wait to go back!

Book in advance if you want to do more than an hour session/ combo. I tried booking day of online and they didn't have spots available, I called and they said they had plenty of 1 hr sessions of both axe throwing and knives, I found it silly that they couldn't accommodate both. They seem relatively new and still figuring things out. I got there a half hour early and they allowed us to start our hour early, which worked out for our diner reservations after. They mention that alcohol would be available in the next coming weeks or so but I'd be happy without it in this place Great fun place to let some steam off and assortment of games to play on the targets.

No food just snacks and drinksService self serves but need reservations to get in. Waiver is required before the game . It's pretty full but enough space. It is located in warehouse. Has limited parking . The light outside was not enough kids dark. It's a good place for a new hobby. Just scary

Axe throwing is underrated. Nothing like launching a steelBlade into a 2x4 for stress relief & friendly competition. The venue is what you would imagine it looks like: a metal hanger, concrete flooring, cool decor, cages & wooden targets. They use a projector system to provide a variety of games including tic-tac-toe, zombie head hunter & a classic bulls-eye target. The atmosphere is friendly. The folks who work there are happy to give you pointers on how perform better. Axe throwing itself is $25ish, knife throwing is an additional $5. You have the choice of hatchets & longer tomahawks. It's one of my favorite activities to do, especially in the winter months. Definitely worth a try.

We really had a good time here, but that was more the result of my crew than the business. No pressing complaints, but I was surprised by how laissez-faire the staff was considering we were throwing real-ass weapons against a wall, having them bounce off, having them fly back at us - it was harrowing and totally unexpected, I thought we'd have had significantly more oversight. The staff were themselves throwing axes on a different alley, distracted by practicing their own throwing skills, and not paying us hardly any mind. Now, for candor, I have not been a patron to other, comparable businesses, so I am going against what FEELS like the way it should be and not what is precedent for the axe-throwing industry. But we were a bunch of buzzed adults hurling things that could absolutely murder/decapitate other humans, so I expected more babysitting, training, hovering, etc. I felt rather uneasy the entire time, so I won't likely be back to this business.

If you are a novice or a pro, The Axe Lair is the place for everyone. I unfortunately can not comment of the food, but the service & location were amazing. I had made an appointment for two late evening on a Thursday, unfortunately we were running late, so I called hoping to see if we could be pushed back or if I could buy a different hour if possible. Since there were no other large parties, the staff let us know that we would still be able to show up without worrying (we got super lucky). As for the location, it's a very cool vibe, the games are quite simple but still fun. The staff will go through a simple axe throwing lesson & then let you & your party go. Loved my whole experience there, I can't wait until they get their alcohol license (was not allowed to sell when I went).

Ok.. came on the perfect day today.. only my date and I in the facility.. made a reservation online.. had a couple brewskies.. failed horribly at throwing the axes.. but was such a great time.. and it's a short drive over to DT Upland.. win win!

I have been to this axe throwing spot when it used to be located inside of a warehouse next to a CrossFit gym. I got to check out its new location on Sunday while out on a date. There is much more room and many more bays at this new location. The best part: they have AC! At least when I went in, it did. I read reviews prior stating that there was no AC, but that was not the case when I went in. Each bay has several different games you can play and you are shown by a staff member how to throw the axe. Upgrading to a different sized axe, a knife, and shovel is free. Again, it was at least when I went in. Could be different t on different days or depending on how busy it is. They have a few picnic tables inside that I assume can be used if you want to bring food or drinks. They do sell drinks at their establishment and also have a few board games and giant Jenga. Overall, I really like this new location and the staff were all friendly and helpful. I'd come back again.

The Axe Lair was an awesome experience! This place is fantastic for fun with friends, date nights, work parties and celebrating birthdays! My boyfriend and I did an hour of Axe throwing and the staff was very attentive and informative about how to accurately throw! Lots of games to choose from! Our projection screen was a bit hard to see on some of the more advanced games because our wood target was pretty butchered, but our favorite was Tic Tac Toe! After we finished Axe Throwing, I booked the rage room! This was probably our favorite part! The staff informed me upon asking over the phone about their services that you can bring your own items for the rage room (no electronics), but we enjoyed the 15 item selection they had to choose from! We just wanted smash more things and keep raging lol! We will definitely be coming back and bringing our own items for the rage room, I highly recommended The Axe Lair to my friends and community!
