My husband and I went to Tartan this Valentine's Day, and we had such amazing time! They had a special menu for this event, and the staff were so good with their service. They helped with our food needs and made sure everything was perfect They had a violinist perform songs for Valentine's Day, so the ambiance perfectly matched the event! We will definitely come back soon

Maybe it was my expectations beforehand, but overall, I feel this restaurant is just okay. The service was amazing at first but then they got busy. We understand this and it only bothered us at the end when we were wanting to get a box for my leftovers and pay and leave. The food, in my opinion, is a little overpriced but it was good. Not amazing but good. There aren't a ton of options either... when I was deciding against a steak (which is what I originally went for), nothing else sounded good and there wasn't a lot to choose from. Still enjoyed a night out overall but would not be back myself.

My friend and I just went here for dinner on Sunday, Dec 22. The outside of this place isn't much to look at. However, the inside was decorated very nicely for Christmas and was warm and welcoming. We were seated right away. Our female server was terrific. Not overly at tentative, but just enough! :)The prices are reasonable and the screw job we have all been getting at other comparable restaurants. They had a special the night we were there which was a filet mignon with two sides for $49.95. This is under heard of! Of course I ordered it. It did not disappoint! Truly delicious! Every bite was tender and flavorful. The mashed potatoes were good as well and so was the garlic bread. My only note for them would be to stop using an ice cream scoop to serve the mashed potatoes. It makes the plate presentation look like a school cafeteria. I also ordered a martini. It was made perfectly! All in all, my experience was definitely something I wanted to share with all of you. This location does take reservations and is family friendly. If you find yourself in the area, please give them a try. You won't be sorry!

I came here on a date with my fiancé, it was our first time. We ordered the peppercorn New York and the flat iron steaks both cooked medium. Out of the two I love the tenderness of the flat iron, the Prime grade really makes all the difference and is my go to steak now at this restaurant. The broccoli and mashed potatoes we ordered as sides were also good. The Caesar salad that came with the entree was a bit soggy like the dressing has mixed in the greens for a while. Overall it was a pleasant visit and we will be back. I recommend this place compared to other steak houses in the area.

Tartan of Redlands is very old school looking when you walk in. Dark and lamps on each table. Old school looking bar. The food is excellent. Their burgers are delicious. Juicy and cooked to perfection.. I have had their steaks too at Tartans, but their burgers are pretty perfect. Highly recommend this restaurant.

Had a great dinner. We came in for an early Valentine's Day dinner Feb 13th around 7pm and there was a group of gentlemen sitting in a booth behind us wearing Red sweatshirts with a company logo on them (we couldn't read it). When they were in their way out, they said "we got you something, Happy Valentines Day". They ended up covering our check!??!? So generous and unexpected. We would like to find out who they are or the company they work for to thank them for the thoughtful and generous gesture. Thanks again Tartan for another great dinner! That frenched Porkchop is AMAZING!!!

Being close to 70 now, I reflect back on the old school restaurants I grew up going to with my parents and grandparents. My fellow baby boomers will understand. They're very few left in the Inland Empire, two very much stand out to me. One is 'Tartan of Redlands.' Their food and cocktails remind me of a bygone era. Nothing like a good 'old fashion,' which they make the second best one I have ever had. Their food is very good too, their burgers are top shelf. The other best old school dinner house is 'Ye Olde Lamplighter' in San Bernardino. To my fellow baby boomers, please continue to support our old school dinner houses.

I've been coming to the tartan for twenty years and I have not been more disappointed in the food as I have now. Their quality of beef I terrible. I don't mind paying the higher prices for steak, however I could get a more tender cut of steak at Sizzler. Very disappointed. What happened?

I'm conflicted. I would highly recommend this place, but selfishly I want to keep all to myself. The Tartan is a time honored tradition and it shows. Like many, I claim this place as my go to place. It's my home. When you walk in, it's like jumping into a 1960's classic car that has been well taken care of. It's clean, and comfortable. Expect it will be busy. Steaks, chops, daily specials and a well appointed menu. Bring money. It's not a discount place. It's a place to impress, and you will get every dimes worth. Food is well prepared and tasty. Bar staff prepares great cocktails, and is some of the best around. Service is great. The wait crew is top notch. Kevin is the best, along with Sam, Matt, and Marco. Lee Ann, Tammy, Shannah, and Annie will make you feel right at home too. The staff is genuine and are not just tip hounds - they go the extra mile. Hugs are free. Owner Jeffrey treats this place like it's his baby and it shows. Best chefs and cooks who crank out amazing quality snd expediantly. Once you've ordered, it's only minutes before you get your food. Sometimes it can get a bit noisy because they are so busy. Parking can be a bit of a challenge because it's in downtown Redlands. Deserts are available, but not a lot of selections. Make reservations on the weekend. Live Entertainment is free, but changes the crowd on the patio depending on whose playing - but it's always safe, and I've never once seen a problem.I'm a customer who keeps going back year after year. It's always a treat.
