We came in just before the restaurant closed, although we didn't realize it until afterward because the staff were so warm and attentive -- no sassy attitudes from the closers at La Cabaña! My crispy carnitas flautas were made perfectly to order, neither greasy nor heavy, and they came with a good ratio of rice to beans. As a bean enthusiast, any restaurant that uses Peruvians in lieu of Pintos has earned extra credit. Especially in a city with thousands of Mexican food restaurants. My husband and sister each ordered burritos...and let's just say no one walked out with any leftovers. We will definitely be back.

Came in for lunch after work today after I picked up a few things from Stater Bros. I usually look past this place because I came in here a few times years ago and hated everything about it. But it looked different today so I decided to try it. (Looks like new owners? management? name?) Who knows?Contrary to my past experiences, I was greeted by a friendly Gentleman immediately. I told him I was eating in, and he asked me to please have a seat and took my drink order while handing me a menu. Large Horchata is what I ordered. No buche or tripas served here. But Cabeza and Lengua are a go. Ordered a few different tacos, and some chips and salsa. Not free, but only 75-cents with refills included. Works for me.The chips are somewhat hard and a tad thick, but they are good , and the salsa is good as well. He even sprinled some extra chopped cilantro y cebolla on it like it was a taco itself. Good stuff. My tacos came out minutes later, with lime and radish slices which are always welcome on my plate. Fresh, thin, handmade corn tortillas are used, with a touch of char on them. Fantastic! All the tacos had salsa verde on them, which is usually good. But I take salsa rojo on red meat, but thats no big deal. I tried my Carne Asada Taco first, and liked it the best. The carne is legit here, great flavor, texture goes really well with the tortilla. Poured a bit of my salsa that came with the chips on it for that extra yum. Well done!I had a Carnitas Taco that looked like a shredded chicken taco. The Carnitas was good, but just a tad dry. I expect grease or tidbits of meatiness, this didnt have much of it. It was tasty enough to eat, but just standard carnitas to me.I also sampled two Tacos de Cabeza. These tacos were tasty enough, and a little fatty factor was there, but just a little. Great texture, good taste. Not bad at all.My Horchata came in a HUGE cup (Las Brisas brand) but it was delicious. It was cold without being a whole cup of ice. And the best part? Free refills with a smile! I was paying my bill, and he refilled my Horchata to-go for free! That is a rarity. Classy move. The bathrooms were immaculate, but you have to ask for a key. They keep them locked because of all the Riff-Raff that sometimes frequent the Staters parking lot. Place is a bit hard to find, but if you know where the Dry Cleaners are next to Staters (on the west side of it) you can find this place. I will be returning, because the Dude there was bragging on his Menudo. Challenge accepted!

This place deserves 0 stars after what happened to us. So we've gone here many times for their menudo which is very good. We order 4 menudos, bean and cheese burrito, sodas, chips and salsa. So out comes the menudos and they bring out a big plate with half onions and cilantro. I scoop out some onions and an uninvited guest comes out of the plate. My mother in law runs with the plate to tell the host and the owner comes out and apologizes, makes some excuses that it's not in the food and well we had to go after that. I was looking around for a their letter rating and there isn't one anywhere, go figure. Never again will I go here and I advise that you check your plates if you do. Good luck.

This would be a 5 star rating if it was based on food& service alone. The location is hard to see if just driving down the street& the area is not a friendly part of town.Food- tacos pastor are full of flavor& meat was moist and tender.Carnita torta- bomb, yum yumChicken taco- hard shell, perfect crema sauce that compliments the taco just right.Im coming back to try the enchiladas & chiliquiles (misspell)

Lies Lies!!! Yelp lied this place is not "Hot and New" the only thing 'Hot' about this place is the temperature because they don't have the AC on. There was nothing 'New' here at all even the tables were old and sharp underneath. As I slid out from the booth to leave the bottom of the table cut and scratched up my leg. My boyfriend bumped his arm against there counter to cancel our drink order and didn't see that it had a sharp metal sticking out of it and got cut by it. In the beginning sat and waited for a little over 10 min waiting for a server to come and at least give us water and ask for our drinks instead the older heavy set woman just kept walking past us. There wasn't many customers in there for them to ignore us and they could have at least acknowledge that we were there and say that they will be with us soon.

Came to try this place out today after reading all the positive reviews on here. I ordered a chicken quesadilla and a fish taco while by husband ordered the Carne Asada plate. As we waited for our food, they brought us handmade tortilla chips with salsa. I was impressed! Everything we ordered tasted great! Friendly staff too! We will definitely be coming back!
