The "chicken" tamale. More like cafeteria mystery meal.
I've never seen nor tasted anything like this "chicken" tamale. I wish I had two more arms so I could give it 4 thumbs down.

I found this place by mistake, and it was pretty much just that, A Mistake. This place is in a crappy area of Moreno Valley, it's stuck in the middle of a spanish shopping center. After thinking about this place and the review I'm writing, it's pretty easy to keep it short. The Tacos. $.89 cents each, this was the only plus about this place.I ordered 3 tacos, carnitas, chicken, asada and a beef and bean tostada. It all tasted the same, nothing special about any of the tacos, just over cooked meat with some cilantro, onions and a mild red sauce. The tostada was a little better, not by much but it was OK.If you live in the area then it maybe worth the try, if not, don't waste your time.

Ok.. so in all fairness, thus place is not a luxurious restaurant by any means BUT I do feel that they are underrated. While they are by no means the best tacos ever.. they do have quite tasty and cheap tacos.I would much rather eat at a place that has tasty food with ok service than a place that has fantastic service and poor food. Don't come here expecting smiles and warm service while you're paying for a $.99 cent taco. I think the taste definitely trumps the service. CHEAP AND TASTY...bottom line.

I had one of the best carnitas tacos here today. The meat was nice, tender and flavourful. I also had the fish taco, which was ok but I think they are a little better at Senor Baja's although I liked the cabbage stuff better here. My husband had the Cabeza (pig head) taco and the birria taco. He said the birria taco was ok but he really enjoyed the Cabeza taco, he said it was nice and tender. We will definitely be coming here again.

The food is good. Have been a regular customer. But...after asking to use the bathroom for my child, we had to walk by the kitchen. The pathway to the bathroom was narrow that I had to tell my son to keep his hands to his sides. The stove was extremely hot with pots of menudo uncovered. When I turned on the bathroom lights, cockroaches scattered away. Have not returned since.

Ordered the SUPER mini 98 cent tacos. They weren't bad but they aren't great either. I had 2 carne asada tacos (comes with cilantro and onions), a fish taco (comes with cabbage pico de gallo and sauce), and a chicken tamale. Now that's where things really went south. I received a "meat" that I guess was supposed to be chicken and I can't say what it was because the was next to no meat. The meat the was there was black and the tamale was burnt which I didn't know was possible. On top of that it was old and it was dry. Maybe they happened to have a bad day today but you only get one chance to make a 1st impression. However I don't believe that I'll be back.

Got the carne asada fries. Came with half a serving of fries compared to what most other places offer. The meat was tender and tastey. Green sauce which was like watery avocado and tamatillo sauce was...overall taste was edible but not enjoyable. If you're looking for great service with even greater food (carne asada for sure), try Aldebertos on Alessandro.
