For Dine-in: The inside (like near the windows where booths are next to) can be cleaner. The food is authentic and delicious and service is good. I would recommend for take out

A year later and we're back for Chinese New year lunch this time. The service was much better this time. There's only one lady. She is always there. She is not the nicest or the friendliest. She was more accommodating to our party of 14 than she was last year. When we asked for something she brought it. One thing, she can only split the check 2 ways. Oh well. The food this time was better. The serving sizes were big and the prices were reasonable. Hence the 4 star. My favorite dish was the fish porridge. I also liked the fish in black bean sauce. The XO beef was always a favorite of mine. I would skip the Kung pao chicken.

I ordered the frog legs and shrimp fired rice. I've eaten frog legs all over the country, and these were by far the biggest and most flavored Ive had to date. Highly recommend this place if you looking for them. They were a little pricey compared to the other places I've went to but the size of the dish explains the price. Customer service could use some improvements. I waited at the front for my order to be taken for about 5 mins before even being acknowledged, but I will give them the benefit of doubt that they were busy.

Don't let the boxes by the door turn you off. If you're looking for a fine dining experience, this isn't the place for you. But if you're looking for good food, then stay for the food. Looks can be deceiving.. The place is not as grand as anyone wanted it to be, the lady manning the front and taking orders might come off as rude, but that could be how she is. But don't let that turn you off. When it comes to food, my favorite is the West Lake Beef soup, shrimp in scrambled eggs and the crispy noodles. I tried the fried rice with scallop and eggs. I have tried that somewhere else but this will do in a pinch plus it's much more affordable. The portion size is not too shabby, you may have plenty to bring it home. We're regular patrons so this is one of our favorite places to go to.

To be honest, I gave this restaurant another try because the food was good and delicious, but I was surprised when my hot sour soup came with a piece of wire. The source of it could be a cleaning pad made of steel wool. I understand that it wasn't deliberate, but additional safeguards, such as quality control, should be taken to ensure safety measures.

I only come here for the food. The one person there makes it very difficult for me to want to come back.My suggestion is to buy to go only, or eat there and be treated rudely.

Unfortunately, this place has been a victim of the economy and poor management, when this place first opened, it was full of potential, it had several servers, good food was quick to come out and the place was clean, but with slower-than-expected business, they had resorted to having only 1 person running the whole front and probably 1 or 2 people at the back kitchen, I don't think they turn on the Air Conditioning anymore. It's a cycle, not being able to afford help results in not as good service and the rating went down, which in turn made business worse, the food, as far as I know, is still good, but with 1 person running the show, it's hard not to be worn down, they're pretty much on a "survival mode" as some say, just creating a job for themselves, I highly doubt it's a profitable business at this point

I really wanted to love this place because I have lived in the area for almost 3 years now and have been DYING to find my go-to Chinese place with hong kong style noodles. The food was just okay for me. Nothing to write home about unfortunately. I picked up our food to go, and it was still piping hot when I got back home. But everything seemed to be lacking something, i couldn't put my finger on it. When i got there, there were only two tables of people. Luckily the food was ready when i got there. The gentleman was nice that helped me.
