Taco Shack

One the few spots open New Year's Eve for dine in or to-go. Decided to try their menudo, street taco trio for Taco Tuesday, and a few of their Baja style tacos. Service was prompt and quick at the counter. I waited outside until my order was ready. They have a self serve area for salsa and sides like pickled veggies (escabeche). Menudo came with all the fixings plus lots of hominy. Delicious! Less thick than most menudos yet still very hearty. The birria street taco was the most flavorful, while the pastor and carnitas street tacos were just ok. They needed a bit of salsa. The Baja shrimp taco includes the tail fried on, so for those who have texture issues, it may be unexpected. The real surprise for me was that my fish tacos tasted metallic, almost like a catfish taste. I'm not opposed to catfish at all but did not expect it to be used in fish tacos since the flavor is really strong for some people. Note: The tacos are stuffed with shredded green cabbage first, then the piping hot fried fish/shrimp, and pico de gallo. Maybe it's because of the hot fish my pico de gallo looked discolored with sad cilantro.The crispy tacos looked interesting enough to come back and try. If I am need is some menudo, I'm definitely returning. I'm not sure if I'll be back for the Baja style tacos in the near future.

The food was disappointing. I ordered a carne asada taco and carnitas taco. The meat was dry and didn't have much flavor. It could definitely use more salt. I appreciate that they loaded the tacos with meat and served grilled onions on the side though.Parking is easy to find. There is a private lot and street parking available. They also have a spacious outdoor patio with plenty of seating.

Super super super disappointed Just got my door dash. I paid $5.37 for a bottled coke and never got it. I got 2 crunchy shredded beef tacos and they were super cold. Pastor taco and Lengua taco both cold and dry. Not to mention the soggy fish taco. $36What upset me the most is how could you not put at least 2/3 salsa? Everything was super dry. I'm sorry I don't usually write bad reviews. But this was not cool!!!!

Great hiding gem. It's small but has a nice size patio area. The 2 ladies working the register were friendly, food was served pretty quick. No complaints. Would definitely recommend!

Great location, parking is easy whether you find a street spot or park in the private lot. I grew up eating at taco stands in Baja California, Mexico so finding this spot reminded me of just that. The carne asada tacos & fish tacos were delicious!Customer service is great! The outdoor patio is great for summer evenings and they even have a DJ that comes out on Friday nights. Love!

I took one bite and knew... the guacamole tasted old and I don't know what was in the sour cream but it was not sour cream. The way to tell if a Mexican restaurant is good is by their chips and salsa. Their chips were not good.

So I forgot to take photos of my food... because I couldn't wait to dig in!I ordered the al pastor burrito. Every ingredient in this burrito was fresh. Fluffy rice, smooth bean filling, and plenty of al pastor.I didn't order this personally, but I tried some of the menudo that my parents ordered. THAT was the dish that hooked me. Not everyone is a fan of cow stomach, but this dish might change your mind! Well-cooked cow stomach in a bright red broth that is absorbed by each piece of cow belly . I'd recommend getting limes on the side because the soup is even more delicious with a squeeze of lime juice. Customer service: fantastic. Esperanza was really nice and she went above and beyond with her customer service. She even gave my brother a free bowl of fruit since he was celebrating his graduation this weekend.The majority of seating is outside the restaurant. Soak in all that sun while eating some bomb-ass tacos and burritos.

I moved to Redlands about two years ago and had often passed by this restaurant without trying it. However, this year I finally decided to give it a go, and so far, I have returned twice. What has impressed me the most about this restaurant is the friendly and welcoming staff. The food is delicious, and the prices are reasonable for what you get. I highly recommend this restaurant--give it a try, and you won't be disappointed!

Yum! My husband and dad found Taco Shack this past weekend while we were in the area, and it's delicious! I enjoyed a carne asada taco and a carnitas taco. Love that you can get flour tortillas instead of corn if you want. My husband enjoyed the queso-taco. I also enjoyed the green salsas. Service is great, the owner is super friendly and had a nice conversation with my dad! Ambiance is your typical mom and pop taco shop. I would recommend!

Shrimp taco, Fish Taco, shrimp ceviche, Cali Burrito and a side enchilada. All excellent. I live more than 50 miles away and would do the drive again. Prices are great as well as the service. Thank you!
