What a great experience! We went at the end of the season for apple picking, so it was kinda hard to find an apple tree that was super full, but alas we found 3 close to the edge of the farm by the road. After picking the apples, we washed and pressed the apples for cider to take home. It was so fresh and sweet! It was a cute little date, and I'm sure we'll be back next year.

It's apple picking season again and this time I stopped by this relatively small orchard in the apple picking capital of California Oak Glen. Unfortunately the overall experience was less than ideal and not what I originally had expected.[Season]: U-Pick apples open on Labor Day to Thanksgiving (weekend only).[Parking]: Limited and free onsite parking is available (uneven dirt road), but I got lucky and took the last available spot. If the lot is full, then street parking is also an option (just more hassle).[Price]: Cash or card - $3 per pound for apple and pears & $5 for a basket of blackberries. $20 to press 1/2 gallon of apple cider and $30 for a gallon.[Locations]: Bartlett pears were located just across from the tent, but I didn't notice them until I asked about pears at the checkout. Apples were located in various parts of the ranch and they were mostly Gravensteins/Glen Seedlings/Crab Apples. Blackberries were also scattered across the ranch and most of them were not ripe.[Instruction]: I walked toward to the tent and the cashier guy gave me a plastic bag. He showed me where pickin' poles are located and also said come back here to weigh & pay. For u-pick apples, he said only pick green and not red apples (I also overheard from another conversation that leave green apples in a dark place for 3-4 days until they turn yellow before eating them). Lastly he told our party to walk south for apple picking and that was when everything began to go south ...[Experience]: Not only was the walk to apple trees resemble to a mini downhill trail, I was completely caught off-guard when a small creek showed up and I saw apple trees on the other side of the creek. Everyone had to hold onto a rope & helped each other out as there was no guardrail and rocks were slippery. After everyone was done with apple picking, all visitors had to re-visit the creek and ultimately made it across the creek in one piece (unfortunately a thorn punctured the skin of my index finger). The walk back to the check-in/check-out tent became an uphill walk and the pickin' pole I was holding also became a burden. Stick with Rileys At Los Rios Rancho or Willowbrook Apple Farm for a more convenient apple picking experience. Apples at Stone Pantry Orchard are on a sour side and this is not the best orchard to visit for anyone who has mobility issues.P.S. - One portable toilet was available for customers.

Really amazing experience here! it was exactly what I imagined my first Oak Glen apple-picking experience would be.Just before coming to this orchard, we stopped at the really large one next-door. There, we spent more time looking for a place to park than we did at the actual orchard: it was super busy, and had a county fair vibe to it (lots to do, but overwhelming). that one seem like a great place for kids (and parents as it truly is a great one-stop shop) but as it was just me and my boyfriend, we decided to come try this orchard instead.im so glad we did because this orchard was exactly as we imagined!! there's so much land to explore (well kept, but still very natural) very quaint. both workers were extremely nice and helpful. we opted to make our own cider too which was so fun.DEFINITELY come here if you're looking for a quaint, relaxing experience.

We came very early in the season, so we understand that there was not much variety, however there were several issues we encountered. First, the ground was covered with weeds--including thorny dandelions and some stinging nettle. With a four year old, it was a bit of a minefield. The paths were not very clearly laid out. Second, the person in charge mentioned that all apples taste pretty much the same and didn't give us much info about what the types of apples we would pick would taste like. (We didn't like the taste of either type we picked that much and plan to make them into apple butter because they had a mealy texture).

This orchard was wonderful for apple picking. It wasn't crowded and the workers were very friendly. They give you a bag and pole to use for picking. Highly recommend wearing pants as there are needly plants on the ground near the trees.

Went in mid October for some apple picking before heading over to Lavender Nights in Cherry Valley. Not super flashy as some of the the other farms down the road which gives it its nice old fashioned charm. Good pricing per pound for what we picked and the apples were so good we went back to pick some more! Highly recommend the apples close to yellow in color, as they were crisp and sweet. You can pick some of the lower hanging apples yourself or opt for long wooden pickers by the U-Press station, though you may have to wait until other parties are finished using theirs (a family was kind enough to give us their stick as they were leaving). Lots of trees to pick from and very fun! Would come back again next season :)

Nice place to spend a weekend day. It's large, quiet, and less expensive. There are apples, pears and blackberries. The owner is very kind and he plays banjo phone beautifully.

Went up to Oak Glen for the weekend to pick some berries... we decided to pull over to Stone Pantry because we seen a blackberry sign. Chuck was super kind and helpful. We found so many berries and pears as well. Definitely will be coming back for pumpkin season

Love love love this place. Came here today and totally not crowded like the other orchards. They keep it simple and we love it. It's just simple apple picking and a nice stroll around their 9 acre farm. It's family run and we just love the stories that come when the daughter was telling us how to navigate. We also saw several dears (including two baby ones). The kids had a blast. Will come back again- one of our favorite experiences so far apple picking

I never would have known about this orchard if not for yelp. We go to Oak Glen every year (except for the COVID years). We decided to try them out this year (October 2022) and loved it. Not crowded like the bigger ones. The owner was so friendly. And we didn't find ourselves limited to a certain area, we were free to wander around. Picked lots of apples, which were priced better than the other orchards. Delicious. We found some blackberry plants, though not an abundance, and asked about it. They said we could try to fill a basket if we thought we could. After about an hour, my granddaughter and the two of us grandparents filled the basket and agreed that it was so much fun hunting in the shaded area for them. This will be our go-to orchard from now on.
