The bread is always soft like a fluffy cloud melting in your mouth. They try to get you in and out as soon as you get in which is good because the line to this place can get very long.Let's be real you aren't going for the ambience just the bread

The bread is delicious. I went around lunch time and you can taste the freshness.I also ordered a carne asada taco, it had no flavor whatsoever. Customer service id say is 1 star. I ordered a cafe de olla and the lady off to the side didn't even look at me, all she said was not today. So I ordered a coffee. When the guy taking my order asked for a cup she slammed it on the counter as if I was bothering her. The coffee cup must have messed up or something because it was dripping the whole way back to work.Needless to say, I will not be returning there. Guess it was a first and last.

I been a costumer for years, came back just this month NOV 2025. Look like the prices spike due to renovation. They push the bill to the costumers. Bread lowered its quality in size, conchitas were 50c now are 90c a piece, which is crazy. I remember it being a lot cheaper than what it is today.

I bought pork with red chili sauce tamales and a few chicken with green chili sauce tamales. They were a good size and tasty tamales. They need more help serving the customers. Long line waiting to get sweet bread. One person helping customer select the Mexican sweet beads, then they set the tray on a counter near the register. Then the customer has to stand in that line to pay. In that same line they are taking orders for the food to go and online food orders. Everyone's tray with the bread they selected is sitting on this glass display case right in front of all the customers that are standing in line. I just kept thinking please don't let anyone sneeze or cough on these people orders. The other thing I didn't like was I saw this male employee preparing those round raspberry balls that have coconut sprinkled on the outside. He had trays if the baked breads and he was spreading the red raspberry sauce around the balls with his bare hands, no gloves on.

One of my co-workers recommended Spike's Cake Shop for their delightful conchas. Thank you my friend. What's a concha you ask? Well, it's basically a simple Mexican sweet bread with sugar on top. Sugar comes in different colors... white, chocolate, and pink.My work was having a Hispanic themed potluck. I wanted to bring some conchas so here I am. My first time visiting. It's located in a small plaza. Parking may be limited.I didn't know the flow, but there is a flow after you walk in LOL. I walked up to a gentleman who was an employee here and asked him where are the conchas. There were a few people who were in front of me and they were already in line. I didn't know there was a line. They were gracious to allow me to go ahead of them. Thank you all! Here's the flow... after you walk in, get in the ordering line that is in front of the pastries that are behind door windows. A staff member will assist you in getting what you want to order. They'll get the pastries, put them on a tray, and after all is requested, they'll place the tray on the counter. Then you need to go to the paying line. There's one line for credit card and one line for cash only. Once you're up at the counter, you'll have to tell them which tray is yours. They'll start ringing up your order.I ended up with 2 dozens of conchas... 8 white, 8 chocolate, and 8 pink. I like a variety. Honestly, I thought they would taste a little bit different based on the color, but they all tasted exactly the same. They just have a colorful sugary top appeal to them. However, the gentleman said the white ones are their best seller. Each concha is $0.90. If you want a box for your pastries, they charge $2.00 + tax per box. Otherwise, they will put them in a white paper bag. I didn't know until after they boxed them. It's all good... they are more presentable in a box for potlucks or parties. Otherwise, paper bag is fine.Staff was okay. Service was decent. They get very busy in the morning so do expect some wait time. They do have a lot of different pastries. I'll have to come back and try the others.

My husband had read in the Walnut Buzz that this was the place to get good tamales. He surprised me yesterday and stopped by to get me a cheese and a pork tamale. My favorite tamale is cheese and jalapeno. Unfortunately, this tamale wasn't as good as I had hoped. The pork tamale was better than the cheese. Since we had just gone to a tamale festival a few days before, these tamales just didn't compare.

They made a mistake and missed adding two of my breads that I paid for and when I called them to let them know of the mistake I was told it was my fault. Very disappointed, my family and I go to this place all the time. Today they were not organized even though there weren't a lot of people. The employee made the mistake, customers are not allowed to grab the bread.

The fresh pastry is just that! Fresh!!!! They offer tamales and hot food that is cooked right in the back, but my only problem is that no one speaks English that works there! There should be one person that is bi-lingual that works there! During the holidays, the tamales go VERY fast so if you are in need of some, get there EARLy! And bring cash! They don't take cards!

Giving a one star for my experience with customer service here today. The bread itself is great which is a shame to have rude workers to ruin the experience and rating of this Bakery. Myself and my partner walked into today initially to purchase a fresh juice. My partner decided he wanted some bread so we waited in line. He is an only English speaking white male. A short stocky woman with glasses assisted us with serving the Bread but was extremely rude because he did not speak Spanish, giving him and I both dirty looks and laughing when I told her he didn't speak Spanish. I am not fluent in Spanish but I know enough to get around. None of these breads are labeled and she looked at us as if we should know the name and if they come in pairs. Overall it was a bad experience with the way we were treated for not being fluent in Spanish. I would get 0 stars if I could for the way she made us feel. Shame on that woman and I hope the owner talks to their staff and hires people who are more respectful and understanding that not everyone who enters the bakery will be fluent in Spanish.

The tamales are not that great. I don't know what all the hype is about overpriced and a little bit of meat will not be returning.
