first time here with girl friends. taco Tuesday. a little crowded but service was fast. food was a unique south west flare. smoked chilis in the salsa, yum. There are also some chief specials that were a complete surprise to me. the Peanut butter Habanero jelly wings, outstanding. I even took some home to my husband and now he wants to try Sonora Grill. The Ambiance is casual a mix of a micro brew/ and taco shop. see yelp photos. very clean and well staffed. Speaking of micro brews, they have a great selection of beers on tap. I had 2 Mother Earths. I am not a big street taco fan but I had one of each. yum. my friends and I out stayed our welcome sitting at the table but the staff was friendly and kept checking to see if we needed anything. Bathrooms have a code lock to get in and it was nice and clean, even smelled good. I live in Colton but it was worth the drive for a change on the regular so so Mexican restaurants. sorry no photos

I always heard about this place from people and social media. In fact, I think it's one of the most viral Burrito spots in the IE. So I was glad I finally got to try it. I seriously wanted to love the viral bacon wrapped burrito but it was sort of mediocre. The service was great. Everyone was nice and the ambiance was awesome I really loved the look. Those 2 alone I'd give 5 stars.I feel like I need to give it another chance soon but I felt my burrito wasn't up to par. It felt colder then it should. The rice felt stale. Even the cheese on top was still not melted. I did love that it has whole avocado in it. I want to say it's because I went in as soon as it opened. If I went in the middle of the day, everything might have been fresher? I don't know but I'm willing to try it again and see.Oh I almost forgot, I took a Bean and Cheese Burrito to go and ate it later and that was delicious.

I had a carne asada burrito, and this place isn't it! It was edible but the meat seasoning tasted weird and beef looks like ground beef and not carne asada! Fry's were soggy: this place is over rated

* FYI- $1 charge for cards *Ordered chili relleno burrito with asada and no pico. Hubby ordered Cali burrito and 5 piece bbq wings. Jamaica to drink. My burrito was sssooo good!! There was a smokiness to it that was amazing. Green salsa had a nice little kick to it. Burrito was filled with meat and relleno at every bite! They stuffed this one good!!Hubby LOVED the bbq wings! The burrit was just ok to him. He got the Cali burrito. Overall, very tasty food. Give it a try!

This place is a great spot for a big delicious burrito. I've had their California burritos, which is really tasty, but I always come back for their basic chorizo and egg burrito. It's massive. It's heavy. It will put you in a food coma, that being said, there are a few things that bug me about this restaurant. For starters, it's expensive. On top of it being expensive, they charge you an additional dollar to use your card. To me that is such a turn off to any restaurant if they charge you to use your card. I don't really care how good the food is if you charge me to use my card I'm not a fan already. So my recommendation if you come to Sonora Grill is to bring cash and a lot of it because if you order more than just one burrito you're gonna be paying over $20. Stop by and give it a shot at least one time.

Regional Mexican cooking has arrived in Riverside County. While sister County - San Bernardino - has hosted a legion of niche Mexican restaurants, with its ever flowing streams of Foothill Blvd and Arrow Hwy, SBC has had a more interesting dining scene. But lately, Riverside Co has been catching up. The Jalisco style birrieria in Jurupa Valley is one. Another is Sonora Grill, in Moreno Valley. The interior is this counter service spot is fully loaded. Corrugated metal and L.A. Rams memorabilia compete for dominance. There's a near religious shrine to Eric Dickerson. A statuette of the running back perches high above the bar. I was informed of this place from the blog Eat the World L.A. and have been wanting to visit ever since. I admit I allowed myself to be dissuaded when a coworker - a woman from Sonora - told me the food wasn't very good. But on a recent trip to Palm Springs, I decided to give it a shot anyway. I had two dishes on my mind. A Sonoran dog being one and the other being some configuration of flour tortilla and carne asada. The hotdog is legendary. And, of course, Northern Mexico is the land of beef cooked over an open fire. And, Sonora is one the only estados who prefer flour tortillas over corn. So there's the gameplan. With the menu printed outside, I saw the first item listed was a burrito and I was disappointed to see that it described a San Francisco, Mission style burrito. Yet, I had hope after reading that the bolillo type bun used for their hotdogs are made in house. Having then approached the register, I asked the cajero if their tortillas are also made in house. He responded in the affirmative. Perfect. I should have asked for burrito with only asada and beans, but I ordered a quesadilla instead. The previous few days had been long and taxing and I wasn't the sharpest glochid in the nopal during my visit to Sonora Grill. I figured the quesadilla would provide me a more pure delivery of asada and homemade tortilla than a burrito loaded with too many extras. The hotdog arrived first. The buns are baked ahead of time and steamed to order. The steaming obviously softens them, but the chew is still very much there. The frankfurter itself was of a low variety. It has a rubbery texture and not much meaty flavor. It is wrapped in bacon and further accompanied by grilled onions tomato concasse, frijoles de la hoya, yellow mustard and mayo. It is fun to eat. And the idea that it's transporting you to either Sonora or Tucson is even more fun. But the bad quality of the hotdog is impossible to ignore. Where I put down the hotdog, I will extoll the quesadilla. The tortillas are, in fact, made in house. They are sturdy and flavorful, but you wish they arrived at your table more blistered and crackly. The asada, it may be the best asada in the entire county, is minced up. It is without all the citrus, achiote, paprika, garlic etc., he heavy marinade that a lot of California asada comes with. It tastes like beef and mesquite smoke. Perfecting simplicity is one of the most difficult things to do in any area of life, the kitchen is no exception. This is a perfectly simple carne asada quesadilla.

Ordered El Chapo Burrito. Good sized burrito. Good service & atmosphere. Only reason I didn't give 5 stars is due to the portion of meat in the burrito. There should definitely be a bit more meat inside the burrito for $20. There should not be more rice & beans than meat in the burrito. Nevertheless I'd still come back once every month or so.
