I liked this place! It's such a fun small restaurant. Not many seatings but I like the food here. We order tacos and menudo (not pictured) the menudo was good and had lots of flavor. The tortillas also were a hit. Specially on the tacos.. the meats where cooked perfectly and also with flavor to the lengua tacos The service was good you order at the front and they'll bring your plate over to you. I like that they had a fridge and carried Caguamas. They have parking outside it's located in a shopping area

Tacos here are sooo good! Great salsa selection and fast service! The restaurant itself is not very big, but has a great cozy feel to it.

10/10 food, service, and vibe. The chips came out fresh and HOT. Literally cooked right then and there. The salsa bar was amazing (just wish it had limes but the hostess/server/bartender was so friendly and nice when we asked for a side of them:) Tacos and Cheeto burrito were soooo good. Coming back asap.

SoCal Taqueria is a real deal Mexican Taqueria! We first came here about a year ago and have been back twice since. They make incredibly tasty, "No Scratch That", delicious food!!Everything is made fresh, in front of your eyes (video). The food has a wonderful layer of flavors, that makes you want to come back and order more. LOL, we have done this after eating, to take home some more food for later. The family that runs this taqueria, also goes all out. They are friendly and very personable. You order at the Cashier Station and they bring your food out to your table. They even have nerve (LOL) to come by your table and check how everything tastes and if they can get you anything else. Their checkin process is sincere and friendly. Wow!I cannot say enough nice things about the food and service here. We've have tried almost everything... from their Nachos, Burritos, Street Tacos, Protein Bowls, Quesadillas and Muffuletta, with either their fresh Carne Asada, Chicken or Al Pastor and everything is great. See photos. Tonight our meal for three ran us $53, before taxes and gratuities which btw, we happily paid!

This review is solely based on their tacos alone -- came in for Taco Tuesday after seeing that they had an amazing deal for street tacos 5 for $10, with plenty of meat options. Unfortunately, the meat lacked flavor, seasoning, salt, it was just so bland -- which was honestly surprising. We had to dress it up with the salsa to finish it. I'm used to bomb ass street tacos from south SD, and this ain't it. The cashier was friendly though! Also, agree with other fellow Yelpers that the music is pretty loud. Wouldn't come in with young kids. Didn't bother us tooo much. Unfortunately, will have to pass on this taco shop. It was worth a shot!

I love the carne asada burrito here! It's absolute perfection. They re-did the inside and it looks cools pretty cool. They have cold beer on tap, so you can enjoy a cold one while they prepare your order. The woman who helped me Saturday evening was really nice too. Thanks!

Great on the run, with lots to choose from at great prices!I especially liked their daily specials, they can not be beat!

Mediocre at best. I ordered 4 carne asada street tacos, rice, and beans. The meat was dry and bland. The tortillas were hard. My husband felt sorry for me and traded a chicken taco for my last carne asada but after one bite I quickly traded it back because somehow the chicken was worse. Rice and beans are fine, nothing special. I had high hopes but this place isn't it. They were friendly and the place is cool maybe I just ordered the wrong item ‍

Another visit, another tasty experience.We ate at So Cal Tacos & Beer a few times and every time was equally satisfying. This small place offers good, authentic Mexican food and service. The variety of dishes is big enough for anyone to find something to order. You can opt for burritos, street tacos, protein bowls, menudo, birria, quesadillas, nachos, you name it. All dishes we tried were very consistent when it comes to flavours and textures. Ex. meat used for birria soup and tacos was cooked for a long time as it melted in our mouths and the seasoning was spot on. I enjoyed my bowl with rice, beans, pico de gallo, guacamole, and chicken. All ingredients blended well and tested good.The same goes for the street tacos. Make sure to try a few different options. This place is also known for their micheladas. They come in a form of aguachile michelada too. Worth trying! Next time you crave Mexican food and you are in their neighbourhood, make sure to stop by for some delicious treats.

This was my second visit, and to my surprise I found a phenomenal item on their menu that I crave quite often! Crispy Birria Tacos with Cheese! They are beyond my taste buds expectations, and are absolutely delicious! Offered with the traditional Birra broth to dunk your bites; but I choose to further crisp-up mine in an air fryer and then eat with the pickled onions, jalapenos, hot sauce, and a salad on the side. Complete heaven!Be warned that they offer a set of three, but I suggest only a pair because these babies are PACKED with meat! To the point that one is probably enough for the average person, and two will have you stuffed!Highly worth the price of $5 each, and totally satisfying.
