Sabor A Oaxaca

This slept on restaurant has delicious food, amazing service, and a Southern Mexican aesthetic that gives off a very nice atmosphere and ambiance.They also have a fully loaded bar with a Happy Hour menu and they do Brunch on Sundays. Highly recommend!

Excellent service & great food! The Tlayuda was very tasty. Hostess and waiter were very friendly and helpful.

This place is very delicious and great service. I would give it 5 stars, but the promotion for Valentine's Day is misleading. We ordered from the regular menu and some margaritas thinking they were 2 for 1 based on the promotional flyer. However, you must purchase the entire three course meal to get the deal according to the server....FYI

We were there today (3/1/25). The restaurant is now called Sabor a Oaxaca; it's under new membership and the menu is centered around Oaxacan food. The food and drinks were delicious. I tried the amarillo de verduras, the empanadita with cheese and mushrooms, and sopa de frijol, as well as chips con guacamole. It was all very tasty - good quality ingredients and rich flavors. A member of our group grew up in Oaxaca and gave the food his enthusiastic stamp of approval. To drink I tried the house mezcalina, it was also very tasty. The service was prompt and friendly. It's a tad pricey, but then so are all sit-down restaurants these days. Overall, great meal, highly recommend!!

Didn't expect much at first but WOW! Super clean, friendly service, and the food they're amazing!Carve asada steak was soft and chicken fajita was soft - was a little upset on the shrimp. (Way to small)Salsa was delicious!

Amazing food !!! Wow . Finally found a Mexican food restaurant that has really good food . Conchinita Pibil so tasty . My father in law had it and I had a taste . I had the chicken enchiladas red and green . Blown away by how fresh and tasty they were . Don't sleep on the tortilla soup . Really tasty . My nephews had chicken strips and those were made fresh , not store bought . Topped off with Churros and ice cream . The happy hour nachos were also good and happy hour Mojito , Cantaritos and Paloma's for 8 bucks . Seriously I ate too dam much but the service and sazon was great !!!!

I had to come up with a plan B on the whim on Father's Day in 2021. This place came up as a suggestion, and decided to drive to it. The restaurant is inside a busy plaza (due to a nonsense s&s place). The restaurant reserves the front parking spots for their clients. We were a party of 6. When we arrived at the place, someone made a comment of how simple the outside looked. Well, have you heard of "Don't judge the book by its cover"? That applied to this hidden gem!!! We walked in, and everyone was wowed by the beautiful and colorful decor. We were greeted and seated. The servers were very friendly. Complimentary chips and salsa were brought out. Our drinks order was taken right away, followed by appetizer recommendations.That day we were pleased by our drinks, appetizers and entrees. Everything was delicious!! Sooo much that we have come back whenever we can, and our daughters come on their own from Whittier. We recently learned they have happy hour, so my daughters and I came to eat this past Saturday. We ordered the cantaritos, nachos, pork belly tacos, quesadilla, rajas dip and the delicious soup. Everything is always so delicious! This is authentic Mexican food. Sabor a mi is a must try restaurant!! Dare to open the book and read it - wink wink

We came here for Friday night dinner and were a group of 10. The restaurant's ambiance was very festive with live Mariachis playing popular Mexican music. The spot has a great bar and esthetically beautiful decor with attentive servers and friendly staff. We had our drink order taken and I had the Tamarind Margarita that was well crafted and delicious, it was also rimmed with Tajin. I had the Chicken Tortilla Soup and Shrimp Enchiladas in Almond Mole. Both dishes were very good, the soup was delicious and mole enchiladas were delectable with amazing flavors. We'll definitely be back when in the area!!

If the line at Soup 'n Fresh scares you, try this amazing jewel! Sabor a Mi... The delicious food is more from Central and Southern Mexico. Not like your typical Mexican chain restaurant. The service is very quick and pleasant. They have a full bar that serves great margaritas. It is clean and tastefully decorated.I highly recommend this hidden jewel in Rancho located on Foothill (north of Soup 'n Fresh)

The food is overpriced compared to the portion size. Rice and beans were the smallest portions I have ever had at any Mexican restaurant. A michelada $14.99 for a small size mug, really??? I should have asked for price before ordering. I was served 3 small taco size corn tortillas and had to ask for an extra order of 3 small tortillas to finish my meal for another fee. However, on a good note the carnitas and shrimp tacos had good flavor. The waitress was nice and attentive so thank you for that. But a meal for 2 at $79 at this type of restaurant I just cannot justify the value. Unfortunately I can't recommend this place and will not be returning.
