In the 18th century, breakfast was a modest affair--perhaps a bowl of porridge or a slice of bread with cheese, sufficient to sustain one until the midday meal. Imagine my astonishment upon entering Red Hill Coffee Shop in Rancho Cucamonga, where the morning repast is elevated to a veritable feast, with portions that would make even the heartiest of my contemporaries blanch. The establishment exudes a quaint charm, its walls adorned with autographed photographs, evoking a sense of nostalgia. The menu, however, is a testament to modern indulgence, offering a plethora of options that would bewilder any 18th-century diner. I was particularly drawn to the pancakes, described by patrons as "the size of your plate" . In my time, such a description would be cause for alarm, as plates were often used as shields in times of conflict.Undeterred, I ordered a stack of these prodigious pancakes, accompanied by a side of hash browns and bacon. When the platter arrived, I was confronted with a mountain of golden-brown discs, each one nearly eclipsing the plate upon which it rested. The aroma was intoxicating, a symphony of butter and maple that beckoned me to indulge. As I delved into this carb-laden edifice, I marveled at the fluffiness of the pancakes, their texture akin to the finest sponge cake. The hash browns were crisp and savory, providing a delightful contrast to the sweetness of the syrup-drenched pancakes. The bacon, cooked to perfection, added a smoky richness that elevated the entire ensemble. However, as I continued to partake in this bounteous meal, I felt a heaviness descend upon me--not just in body, but in spirit. The sheer volume of food began to exact its toll, and I found myself yearning for the simplicity of a modest bowl of gruel. By the time I had conquered half of the stack, I was overcome with a profound drowsiness, the likes of which I had not experienced since the harvest festivals of my youth.Unable to resist the siren call of slumber, I requested a "to-go" container--a marvel of modern convenience--and retired to my quarters, where I succumbed to a food-induced coma that lasted well into the afternoon. In my dreams, I was pursued by giant pancakes, their syrupy tendrils ensnaring me as I fled through fields of hash browns.Upon awakening, I reflected upon my experience at Red Hill Coffee Shop. The fare is undeniably delicious, and the portions are generous to a fault. Yet, I caution fellow travelers from the past to approach these modern feasts with restraint, lest they find themselves overwhelmed by the abundance.Four out of five stars--for the delectable offerings, the charming ambiance, and the invaluable lesson that even the most delightful indulgences are best enjoyed in moderation.

This is a place my wife and I had passed by several times at the wrong time of the day and wanted to try. I took her over here for breakfast. It is a historic style Route 66 diner. I loved the ambiance. Let me start this off with we both want to go back to try something different. Portions were good and prices reasonable.I was disappointed in the steak. It was a low quality cut of beef. It was tough even ordered medium rare. I also would have preferred it seasoned with salt and pepper rather than a little cup or A1. My wife said she would prefer an omelette next time. She didn't care for the hash browns. I prefer them crisper than they were. I asked for crispy. We both loved the biscuits and gravy. They had a very pleasant peppery flavor. My wife never likes biscuits and gravy so this was high praise coming from her.Service was great! Very attentive and friendly. Ask about the history of the place.I look forward to my next meal to raise my review to 5 stars.

It's been more than 20 years since my last visit but it was as just as good as I remembered. Good food and great old school diner vibe. The pancake size has decreased slightly as they used to hang over the edges of the plates back the day, but they're still plenty big! The ham was delicious, nice thick slab and not too salty. My friend loved the French Toast. Super sweet and attentive servers. Will be back soon.

Very underwhelming, and wouldn't go back for sure. Service was ok, they forgot a few things and we were so hungry we didn't mention it or send it back. The salsa is awful, just large chunks of tomatoes, peppers and onions. The coffee was very watered down and it was fairly pricey, above $90 including tax and tip for four.

I love coming here with my son. It is pretty small inside but has a lot of charm and great service. Their pancakes are huge and oh so flavorful and buttery. My top spot for a stack of pancakes for sure. Classic family diner and a staple in Rancho.

This place has no flavor. Country fried steak was bland. Even the salt was bland . The coffee was not strong taste like water. I only like the polish sausage. The lady server was a witch. She was rude. Never going back. And small inside.

Such a cute little breakfast place. Friendly service and the food was delicious. I got the Rancho omelette and it was incredible. The meat was well seasoned and tender. Will definitely be back!

Nestled along the historic Route 66, Red Hill Coffee Shop is a homage to the classic Midwest small-town diners we all love. When you walk in, you're treated like family by attentive owners, who have created a welcoming atmosphere. The menu is what you want from a cozy roadside diner. The pancakes are delicious--fluffy and golden brown--paired with fresh eggs and savory meats. The coffee flows freely, just as it should, with the friendly waitstaff ensuring your cup is never empty. The staff checks on you multiple times throughout your meal, making sure everything is right. Despite the good food and service, the prices are unexpectedly reasonable. When you're passing through, stop here on Route 66. It's a slice of classic Americana where you can enjoy a delicious meal in a warm, family owned and family-friendly setting without breaking the bank.

From the generous portions to the smiling staff, we thoroughly enjoyed our breakfast here. The menu was expansive and our waitress and waiter were both super helpful and super nice. The atmosphere was great and we even sang 'Happy Birthday' to a stranger! This is a good one!
