This new Indian grocery store is a welcome addition to Riverside, offering a spacious and airy shopping experience. With two established locations in Little India, Artesia, their expansion to Riverside brings much-needed access to authentic Indian groceries in the area.Upon entering, you're greeted by a friendly security person who hands you a shopping cart, adding a nice personal touch to the experience. The layout is inviting, with fresh vegetables on the left. While the selection of fruits is small at the moment, the vegetable offerings are a mix of standard items like onions, carrots, and potatoes, alongside authentic Indian produce such as Karela (bitter melon), Okra, and Baingan (eggplant). The store also boasts an impressive frozen section filled with convenience foods, Indian ice creams, and fresh dairy options like Indian-style yogurt, paneer, and butter. For those who love Indian cuisine, there's an endless array of pickles, roti, and spices to stock your pantry with all the essentials. The shopping experience is excellent overall. The only way to elevate it further would be to add live pani puri and pan stations, like some stores in the Bay Area. That might be a stretch given Riverside's smaller Indian population, but one can dream! In terms of areas for improvement, I noticed that some of the vegetables weren't as fresh as I'd hoped, and the fruit selection is currently quite limited. Hopefully, this will change with the seasons. Also, it would be fantastic if they could bring Alphonso mangoes to the area--fingers crossed for that! All in all, a great addition to the Riverside area for anyone looking for authentic Indian ingredients.

We have been shopping at Pioneer Cash and Carry at Artesia store for years. However, recently we have been noticing there are a lot of Halal certified products including dairy products. As a Hindu, I read all labels to make sure I did not buy any Halal products. By mistake, we bought "Gopi" brand Paneer, yogurt and Malai which have Halal certification. I drove 25 miles to return Gopi Paneer. But the store would not take any responsibility of selling Halal products without separating them. I was introduced to a girl name Payal. I have never met such a rude business person in my life. She has no respect for customers and was very disrespectful and obnoxious. I pledged to never shop at this store since they do not have any respect for Hindu customers. ATTENTION all Hindus be very careful and read all labels to make sure they are buying products that do not violate your religious beliefs. I have no problem if a business wants to sell any certified product they wish. But they should separate these products so all religions are respected. I would give this store minus 10 if the rating allowed. I know 99.9% of customers at this store and Hindus. I hope they will either pay attention or move their business where Hindu religion is respected.
