Myung Dong Tofu & BBQ

A no frills Korean tofu soup and more restaurant tucked away in the corner of the 99 Ranch Plaza, I genuinely don't understand why this place has mid ratings on Yelp. Taste is very authentic, portion sizes are reasonable, service was very friendly and quick, and price is on the lower end. Comparatively to nearby Korean restaurants, Myungdong is around 2-5 dollars cheaper per dish. Everything was flavorful and well seasoned. The only thing different than some other sundubu places is that you don't get an egg with the tofu soup, but that could be due to the current egg shortage (I'm not 100% sure). The galbi tang was warm and comforting, I asked for the dipping sauce with soy sauce/jalepeno/onions on the side and it was delicious. Kimchi pork was packed with flavor and not overly fatty. Would return when craving Korean food next time!

The food here is so good! The flavor and quality are on point. Best fish cake banchan I've ever had. I don't think I've ever had anything bad here. Korean comfort food at it's best. Don't expect cutesy, warm and fuzzy ambience or service. If that's important to you then order to go. But do expect to stuff your face with yumminess regardless!

Came here to get some dishes for dinner. They now have a few menu, printed on regular printer paper. The dishes are now not the same as before.I ordered their Topboki (rice stick) and spicy pork.The spicy pork had very little onions and the portions are a bit smaller. The side dishes are smaller as well.The owner lady is still nice and she took my order fast. Overall, I hope they get their quality back to before. I'll come here again ... hope business will return to normal

I have gone to this place since I've moved to Rancho, although I haven't visited for a couple of years. Nice quaint restaurant. Prices have gone up significant (what hasn't). I got the chicken combo which was about 23 dollars, it was big enough for my wife and I to share. Decent amount of protein included in the tofu soup, chicken was juicy and flavorful. I remember that they use to provide about 5-6 side dishes, this time they only gave us 4 l, but all of them were pretty good. Try it out if you are in the area

I ate all of Korean food because of reminder my old memory and homecooking.. this is best Korean food!! Good serve and work well!!

Service is great. Very kind staff. But the food... please do better. Everything was not seasoned correctly. Flavorless kimchi, salty sookjoo namul (type of banchan), soondooboo was so salty too (worst soondoonboo) I've ever had in SoCal. The dolsot bulgogi bibimbap had meat, pickled onions???, and a sprinkle of raw spinach. First of all, bulgogi was overly sweet, second- the ingredients in the bibimbap... pickled onions??? Not even a fried egg. As a Korean... I am so disappointed and leaving with a bad taste in my mouth.

This place has always been my favorite. My family and I would come here often and now that I live across the way, I take my daughter here twice a month, if not more. The ladies that work here have always been amazing! Also they have these cute little to-go trays for the fish cake and kimchi. My favorite.

Ambiance: keep perspective; interior is datedService: staff is friendly and helpful Food: my wife and I dined in and ordered - beef bulgogi, kimchi and pork, and seafood pancake. All met/exceeded our expectations and loved the flavors, portion size, and sizzling hot when arrived at our table.Conclusion: great neighborhood K-food restaurant if you're looking for something local and authentic. They ain't fancy, but oh hail ya, they fulfilled our K-food craving and we didn't have to drive far and deal with traffic. They are our new local K-food restaurant!

Authentic best tasting Korean dishes served by friendly staff . We have been looking for a place that seeves dishes that we always seemin K dramas and we found this gem. We will surely come back.
