I LOVE this place! & it's great because it's 21 and up. More mature crowd compared to 18 and up clubs.

Montanas is the best place for line dancing / country swing in southern california. They actually play country music (a few other venues plays a mix of country and rap). The set up is that they will do a few line dances in a row (maybe ~5), then maybe 2 partner dances (like texas time), and then like 5 swing dancing songs. So it's a really good mix if you like all of them. like most other venues, easier songs in the beginning of the night, more advanced line dances at night. i will say though, the songs they play are VERY repetitive if you come every week. however it can be a positive if you're trying to learn some dances , you consistently can practice week after week.the staff really makes sure that everyone is safe, they're constantly walking around patrolling things. and they're good about not letting people with drinks on the floor. there's an upper and bottom floor. the upper floor you can swing dance during line dances which is nice. oh they don't sell food. parking is easy and plentiful.

I honestly don't think they should charge to get in- seating is very limited. What l liked about it was the different age groups.. it was fun trying to learn a few steps. I might give t another try.

I've been coming here on and off for years, but after last night, I won't be back. My son, a respectful Marine veteran, was treated rudely by a bartender as soon as he walked in. My nephew, also a veteran, was shoved by an older man on his way to his seat. The vibe just felt unwelcoming, and the security was way too aggressive for no reason. Really disappointing experience. Do better.

Poor customer service. First time I was there I had a great time however they are very strict about the tables. I tried to make a reservation for a large party today and unfortunately the corral was already booked. I inquired about the possibility of getting there early and getting the "first come first serve" tables and was told there is a 2 table per party max and all parties must be present as you cannot hold tables. They are not very accommodating and it seems as though they don't care to keep business.

I was there on a Saturday night and the DJ played so many couple dances. I became so bored after a couple of hours. This place is not a good if you want real line dancing. The DJ seems to have his own agenda on what he wants to play, rather than take requests. I don't come very often, and that's the reason. Even when in live a couple miles away. I'd rather drive to Anaheim or Irvine for real line dancing and a more equal amount of time on the Dance floor.

I came here on a Friday night (along with my mom) for dancing. Crowd seemed to be all ages - some young adult, some middle aged, and also a number of older folks too. Lots of partner dances, two step, and then sets of 5-6 line dances.Bar had a three drink minimum and if you want water you have to pay for it. Lots of seating areas outside of the dance floor. There was the main dance floor and then a stage which was also used for dancing. I was told the stage holds a band when they do live music. They had a good mix of songs - not just country for the line dancing. Most of the pure country was during the two step. I liked the mix! Overall a good spot! I witnessed so many more partner dances (so many cha chas!) that I had no idea existed.

I've changed my mind about this place. They simply don't play enough good music. It's the same worn out playlist every week. Too much couples dancing not enough line dancing. By the time they play the popular songs I actually know the dances for it's time for me to leave. Also hearing loss is irreversible. Your music is way too loud even with hearing protection. I drive an hour and half to get here, I stand around for hours waiting for a song I can dance to, I'm lucky if I get to dance twice and the I make the super far drive home. And my ears ring for two weeks.I'm not losing my hearing over your dumb ,tired worn out playlist. You guys just lost another star again! Now I've discovered that the DJ is a self righteous jerk who has a policy against taking song requests! My friends have reported having issues with him also. One star Montanas! I'm boycotting this place until you fire the DJ!And they don't enforce dance floor rules here. I'm just tired of this place and I hope someone else takes it over.

Haven't been here so not quite a review but this place looks absolutely amazing, im turning 20 in two weeks and have been an avid line dancer for years and was a instructor in NY and I've been looking for 18+ friendly places to finally line dance, is this place 18+ at least on certain days?

This is for my visit about two months ago. I wasn't going bother with a review, until I read someone else's review just now. This was a Friday night. The place is open two nights a week (Fri/Sat) and offers free dance lessons if you get there early enough. We had hoped to get there early enough for the dance lessons, but unfortunately, we didn't make it in time. Technically, we can dance to everything, but we're very rusty. Sadly, if you don't know how to do all of the dances, those around you that do will make it known to you that you don't know what you're doing. There are comments, dirty looks, and attitudes by the good dancers towards the beginners. This might be a reason as to why the place isn't nearly as busy as it should be. I'd like to suggest they open on Thursdays as well. From 6pm to 10pm is intensive beginner dance lessons. (In addition to the lessons on Fri/Sat). From 10pm to 130am is Country Music Karaoke. There is a karaoke bar in Pasadena that's maybe 20% the size of Montana's, but it usually has more people in it than Montana's. Gotta keep new people coming in if you want long term survival.
