One of my favorite places to visit but today was made a little more special all because of our server, Arturo. We brought our daughter here to celebrate her birthday. The hostesses could be a little more friendlier but that wasn't too big of a deal for us, the hotel is very charming, if you are visiting the IE, make it a point to stop here. We had the honor of being seated in Arturo's section and let me tell you, he goes above & beyond! He has a great sense of humor and shared some very wise words for the birthday girl.My daughter had the garlic shrimp linguini and she said it was made to perfection. I had the Innkeeper's spicy sausage pasta, it had the right amount of spiciness. We finished with tiramisu that had a velvety mascarpone cheese mixture and a rich, heavenly flavor of espresso, soooo good!Let me get back to our server, it's so rare to have someone so happy and genuinely makes your dinning experience such a fun one! Whatever they are paying him is not enough. Trust me, he will make your whole experience even better! I wish everyone was more like him.We also saw Yohannes, he's also a great server! Other restaurants really need to take note of what the Mission Inn is doing right with their servers because it's more than just good food that brings you back, it's the way the staff makes you feel as well as the atmosphere and these twoare top notch!

This was my first experience at the Mission Inn Restaurant with a group of friends for the New Year's Day Brunch. Even from the start, I felt something was off. They advertised a $95 brunch but when it came time to book, the total came out to $160 per person with payment up front. We didn't catch it until a week later and gave them a call back to correct the mistake. It turns out they charged an additional tax and 20% tip on top of what the total should have been. It took days for them to sort this out and we weren't reimbursed until after the brunch. You would think that this would be the end of it, but the amount they reimbursed didn't even match up with the receipt they gave us. We've called them for over a week without a response. Sometimes the phone would just ring endlessly or we would get dropped multiple times. Sometimes they would send us to a voicemail of someone who was supposedly working the hours we are calling, but doesn't bother to pick up. We have left a voicemail to give us a call back and even emailed them our situation... Still, no response. Either way we have been left angry and frustrated at their lack of response. Let this be a warning to take your time double and triple check your values before finalizing your reservation! The brunch itself was ok. The lamb, omelette station and Arturo's service was the highlight of the meal. The meal did include bottomless mimosas, but I would have loved to see it as optional since we had several in our party that could not drink. Overall, I can't say that I recommend this place for their brunch. I think the food and service would have been overall acceptable, but this payment debacle has left a bad taste in our mouth and we will not be coming back.

Ate here again for New Year's Day brunch and it was fantastic! Best brunch I've been to in awhile! The bacon - omg - FINALLY! Crispy bacon at a buffet - hooray! The shrimp were also delicious. Very, very well done. Arturo was our waiter and he was fabulous. Very attentive, funny, and genuinely nice. I would definitely do the brunch buffet here again for a special occasion.

The hotel is fully decked out with a fabulous display of lighting surrounding the property. I didn't attend the annual Festival of Lights ceremony, which is extremely popular, drawing large crowds from near and far. You may prefer to enjoy the view during the week instead. No matter what season you visit, be prepared to fully enjoy the amenities, spa, shops, restaurants, and decor as you step back in time. The resort is a historical place (or palace), over 100 years old. Tours are available to full explore the buildings and architecture. Come for a memorable brunch on the weekends, or dine in the patio, or a special dinner at Duane's Steakhouse in the main lobby area. I have been here for the brunch and it was fantastic! Just having a snack and cocktail in the bar is also a wonderful treat. Reservations are required for this remarkable location. Book a meal at the restaurant, or a room... might as well get a suite and don't forget to tell'em that Rosemary sent ya!!!

I was meeting with friends for dinner. Given the fact that is 40 miles from my house. I scheduled myself for a few walking tours including a hotel tour. This is one is the most beautiful hotels I have seen. I was not disappointed. If you can make reservations for the Mission Inn Restaurant, it's the open space in middle of hotel. Carolers came to our table, that was very special. In terms of service, all were very friendly. Please note that we visited during the holiday season and they were quite busy. Also want to state that our server was great. Nonetheless he forgot to bring our appetizers, which they interestingly appeared on our bill. My pasta was ok, a bit too soft and not spicy enough. I will give it a 3.5 out of 5. My friend's steak was not fully cooked and she had to send it twice. Nonetheless we had a great time and I would go back when the less busy.

So when the boss says "We're all going to the Mission Inn Restaurant for our annual Christmas luncheon", who am I to argue? So of course I'm going to check Yelp and see what folks are saying about it. And ya know? They were pretty accurate!Located in the hotel for which it takes its name, the Mission Inn Restaurant is gorgeous. We were sat outside in the patio (with perfect So Cal weather in tow) and it is a great place to eat. We sat down and quickly got our waters. The lunch menu isn't terribly large but there's a decent variety of burgers, salads and sandwiches to choose from. I went with the Roasted Turkey Club Sandwich. Great sandwich! Lots of turkey with bacon, avocado and fresh veggies on grilled sourdough. I'd definitely get this again. Fries were crispy and perfectly cooked. My only problem was I swear there was extra sleeping powder in the food. I was so tired the rest of the day. Service was decent but friendly. It started getting crowded as we ate but they were doing the best they could!Overall I enjoyed my experience here.Maybe a bit more than my fellow Yelpers. Ambiance was a 10. Food an 8. Service was about a 7. The Mission Inn Restaurant isn't a cheap place to eat as a sandwich and French fries was $21 but this would still be a great place for a date night or for your boss to take you to when it isn't on your dime! Recommended.

Located inside the Mission Inn hotel. We checked in for a party of 2 and were told it would be about a 30 minute wait. It wasn't a problem because we just roamed the property and take some pictures. They have a parking structure just around the corner where it's $10/hr or $30 is the max they will charge. They do not validate. Or you can park on the street. The entire venue is beautiful. We sat outdoors and the patio has a lot of charm. A lot of tall heaters were around so guests can enjoy the outdoors comfortably. The menu selection was limited for lunch, but it was delicious for the choices we chose. They provided rolls, I believe they were sourdough, and a large chunk of butter. I can eat those and will be happy without eating something else, haha.We got the veggies salad with 5 shrimps and the turkey sandwich. My family member dines here quite often and loves the shrimp veggies salad. For the turkey sandwich, it was the most crispy, flavorful, and tallest sandwich I've ever had. The bacon was a little too overcooked but the sourdough bread was great! Our server was Yohannes and he was friendly and very polite. However, the service could be a little faster. If I were on my 30 minute lunch break, I would have been very upset. It took a while for us to get our beverages (Starry and coffee) and our refills. This is why I'm giving it 4 stars. Thankfully, I was just there enjoying my lunch with a family member and we enjoyed each other's company.

The food was quite good. The Garlic Shrimp Linguini was flavorful with a nice portion of jumbo shrimp. Their French Dip sandwich was filled with tender smoked tri-tip beef, caramelized onions, horseradish cream on a ciabatta roll, and served with au jus.Our waiter, Michael, was friendly, efficient, and provided excellent service. All the staff worked together as a team, and it showed. There is indoor dining with linen napkins and white tablecloths. The courtyard dining area with a center water fountain showcases the beautiful architecture of the early 1900s building.

The place looked absolutely beautiful in the photos, but in reality, it didn't live up to expectations. Honestly, the interior felt more like a TGI Fridays, and the food wasn't anything special. I wanted to try somewhere new, but I don't think I'd come back again.
