Stopped by here after we did a tasting at Callaway and we loved it! The view is great and the service is great. My friend and I ordered a couple of appetizers (ceviche is so good!!) and then some glasses of wine and I ended up purchasing a bottle of the wine I liked from the tasting here at the restaurant which I liked as it was less hectic and crowded than at the winery. Really enjoyed our time here and will definitely be back!

My family had made brunch reservations here before we began our own Wine Tour. We were satisfied, but nothing food wise was reallg extraordinary here. I think their best asset is location.Located at the Callaway Winery, Meritage is serving some stunning views of the vineyard. Callaway itself is a beautiful winery, some Meritage is benefitting off of that. The restaurant itself is very clean and classy. It kind of gives a greenhouse, garden escape vibe which was actually really nice. They are dog friendly as well too.Staff was very friendly. Host greeted us with a smile. What stood out to me was how helpful and accomodating they were to my handicapped 90 year old grandma. There was some stairs to get to our table. The staff put her wheelchair in a safe place and even offered his arm to help guide her down the stairs, I was impressed.Food was decent, but not outstanding. It was average tasting brunch food that got the job done. I had the salmon lox, and I'm on the mission to find the best one, and this was not it. My sister in law had it too and we both agreed that it was lacking in the cream cheese, the best part, and we both had to ask for more. My dad said his sandwich was kind of dry ans boring like it was missing more, and the fries were disappointing. Best part was the creme brulee, but that could still use some work too.Meritage's strong point is the atmosphere and views. If you are looking for a nice atmosphere to eat on your wine tour, then this is a good spot. But don't count on it ti have outstanding food. Other wineries restaurants offer better food, vut Meritage is up with the views and vibes.

Super friendly staff. Hummus plate was tasty. The atmosphere is amazing, simply because it's such a beautiful vineyard & winery. I was there for a wedding and the ceremony, food, drinks were all outstanding.

It's been years since I ate at Callaway's Meritage restaurant. Gorgeous views, beautiful property overall. The restaurant is covered patio seating with large windows that give a great vineyard view facing west. We were there on a Tuesday, which was a low crowd day and perfect weather! Service was excellent! Margarita pizza was yummy! We used our SIP Temecula passes to grab a glass of wine from the tasting room before heading over to the restaurant, finished that glass and ordered another glass at the restaurant! I chose a white wine, so I can't offer any comment on whether their reds have improved from when we last tasted here years ago. White was good (probably a viognier, I can't remember). They don't have air conditioning, so be aware if planning to dine on one of Temecula's blistering hot summer days. They do have heaters, though I could not tell you how well they work to keep you warm on our sometimes cool winter weather. We chose the perfect day to have lunch here and it was very nice!

I actually really enjoyed this restaurant at the Callaway Winery. The service was friendly and nice. We made reservations and got seated promptly and had a nice view of the vineyard. We were here for brunch and they have a decent menu. Surprisingly they had Ceviche here and it was really good. Not simple and had a good mix of seafood. The Steak and Eggs weren't mind blowing, but cooked well and made it rare as what we requested. Really come here for the wine and views though. Overall, would come back!

The service was very friendly and the food came out quick considering we were here for a convention with 500 people who were all on break at the same time. There was nothing on the menu I was super excited about so I ended up ordering the "fruit couscous" which wasn't fruity, just a big bowl of super fat couscous and some veg for $28. The brussel sprouts looked good, but I didn't taste them. The views were amazing and the climate was very controlled with partial walls to let in air and a fan with attached misters.

I really really wanted to love Meritage. I love that most of their produce comes from their own greenhouses or is sourced locally. The ambiance: It was actually very nice inside and I liked that it was so open. However we were seated at a table next to the window and there was a fan that kept blowing on us as it rotated side to side. I had to put my hair up to prevent it from blowing all over the place.Ceviche: Good! Not the best ceviche I've ever had but it was not bad. The seafood tasted fresh which is one of the more important things for me. The wontons were alright, very very messy as flames ended up everywhere. The wontons were also a little oily and left that oil taste in your mouth if you ate it alone. Also there was a small piece of blue plastic lodged in one of the clams :( We let our server know and he offered to have them remake it, but we figured it was alright (crazy take i know).Ratatouille: Was decent, squash was cooked well and couscous went nicely. I personally felt that it could use a little more salt to enhance the tomato flavor, but to each their own. Short Rib: The short rib was very soft. However it was a little dry and the dish itself was a little underwhelming for me. I think I needed something in the dish to add some brightness as everything seemed to weigh the dish down. But again, personal preference because my boyfriend had no problems with it. In conclusion I can't see us coming back anytime soon, but I'm glad we tried it out.

Had the pesto pasta dish. It was amazing! It was a good sized serving. Someone else in my party had the tacos, which we both thought was not nearly as good. Also the 3 tacos were not as filling for a meal. Server was friendly and recommended the pasta. Restaurant had lots of seating available and had a beautiful view of the vineyard.

My first time dining at Meritage. The shrimp salad was very satisfying. My friend enjoyed her veggie flatbread (note pic). The service was prompt, and we were served immediately. We were a walk-in during lunch, and everything went smoothly. T The view is very beautiful from the restaurant as they have large windows that give you a view of the vineyards. he winery is on the opposite side and there is a gift shop onsite.

Let me start by saying if I could give it a 0 start I would... the food was terrible! I should have run the moment we arrived and saw it was pretty empty on a Saturday evening. I'm not sure who the chef is but I don't think he tastes his food. We spent a pretty penny on food that was not worth what they are charging you. There's so many options around that serve amazing food, I would stay away from this place.
