Mendez Meat Market

Nice small Mexican market with lots of typical last minute grocery items. Small selection of fruit and vegetables. Several meat selections such as carnitas to chicken fajitas. They have lettuce and green onions in the back. You have to ask for them. Prices are reasonable. Staff is nice.

We buy our meat from here for carne asada and any last minute things instead of going to the supermarket. It is down the street from my house, so It's safe to say I have been to this place since it opened. The ladies that work the register can be hit or miss when it comes to their mood. They don't seem like they are very happy but when I go I just get my 1 or 2 items I need and vamonos!. Be careful with the prices too, I used to never check - but noticed they would be priced with one price and would get charger something else- I finally said something and the girl was like "oh yea we changed the price" so I said well make sure you change the price on the door since it has that price. The next week I went back and noticed the sign was finally taken off. So that's good! Besides that, this is a great market for quick last minute necessities that avoid you having to go to a big supermarket. Trust me when I tell you the carne asada is bomb here. Bought some chicken here the other day that must have been sitting out for awhile or something because everyone that ate it got sick, won't be going back to this market.

They have very great meat. They do have great prices as well. It is like a small Cardenas. They are very clean and friendly. They also sell calling cards and fax. I went in there to fax one paper and it was only $1. :)
