MELA Grocery and Halal Meat

Deserves such a higher rating when I first tried it I was in awe and have been back many times, never disappointed. The workers are so kind and will cook for you fresh I love the little grocery store also I bought honey, strawberry jelly and henna!

Went there for the halal chicken and beef. The guy (I believe the owner) is very friendly and helpful. The chicken and beef are clean and cooked really well. Prices are reasonable. They are my go to during my stay in Ontario.

The review for this place is long overdue. I am always On the lookout for Halal grocery markets and I was in the area where I found this one. I was kind of going in with the guard up because of all it's interesting poor reviews So I was honestly just going to check it out. I was pleasantly surprised at how organized and clean it was, a lot of these grocery stores struggle in that area. I was really impressed by their meat preparation and packaging. The meat does not even have an odor and is so clean as well as fresh which is incredible! I got chicken as well as ground beef here and it was phenomenal! I met the owners At the store and we talked about this store. I told them given the reviews I was shocked out at how experience turned out At the store. It turns out they just took over the store and they are really working on renovating it entirely. He even showed me pictures of how the store was before and how much change he has created. They are really trying to build the rep. These men were so kind and informative as well as transparent as to where all their products come from. I really appreciate that in any store. I've settled on only buying meat from here. They told me I can just call and request for what I want and I'll have it ready so that I don't have to wait. How convenient. I really think if you have the opportunity you should check them out & Give them a chance you will not be let down.

A little gem in inland empire. This store has been through different management over the years but the new owners have gone on to change the overall look and feel of the store. Extremely clean, spacious, well lit now. They offer a variety of desi spices, halal meat and fish. They even do catering. I ordered khichuri, beef curry, goat curry and shammi kebab for a small get together at home. Everyone complimented the food. It was finger licking good! All the items were excellent but the khichuri and the goat curry were the stars of the show! Highly recommend doing your desi groceries and catering here!

Stopped at this store last week on January 24th, after a gap of several years, was so impressed with the new arrangements and organized groceries displayed around the entire store under new Ownership and Management.The owner along with his wife and Nitesh, their employee, was very nice and friendly and was extremely helpful as well. They made us feel at home and also offered Indian tea which is part of our culture. We got several different Frozen fishes which are rare to find at times here, like Hilsa and Koi fishes. Even though they were kept frozen, still it tasted really fresh and yummy. We also tried their Chicken Pastries along with their Samosas and some savory snacks, and it was delicious and mouthwatering. My husband went again today and got few more for us this evening along with few other things.Please go to this store in case you are looking for something really fresh and tasty. Also, they do caterings for parties and other occasions. I highly recommend people to go to this store for all kinds of Indian and Pakistani groceries, fish and meat products.

Today I decided to check out Mela and I am so happy. This is my first time purchasing halal meat and at first I was nervous because I didn't know how it worked given I would buy my meat from a traditional store. The owner was super nice and explained everything to me and now I am comfortable. I got ground beef and I was surprised that the price was affordable. I paid 6.99/lb and am very happy with that price point. The owner also informed me the meat comes in fresh everyday. I was offered some tea that was great. I also got the chicken pastry and that was amazing, I actually went back a few minutes later to buy another one because it was that good!!This will be my new place to purchase meat!

Package Grocery are good , behavior good but I buy raw meat was not so good . Cooking food is very bad . Whenever I buy cooking food test like old food recook small like cooking with old oil I mostly though a way For me eating their cooking food not good for health . I buy Iftar for Ramadan and other cooking food in the past and I get sick every-time after eat there food so I am not going to buy there cooking food again . I don't think we should buy any cooking food from there . My request to health department for look after their cooking food quality immediately .

Owner was very friendly. Their meat was fresh and the store was very organized. Will definitely come back when I'm in the area again.

Such a good business everything is clean and so is the meat it's clean and fresh as well as the fish. I couldn't believe how I didn't know this place before. The men here are very kind and helpful! I will be back to buy some meat and fish !
