Mariscos Nayarit

I love this place and the shrimp ceviche, fish tacos and the shrimp zarandeados is the best I ever ate. I recommend this spot. Service is always excellent and no complaints from me. The owner and the rest of the staff are great cooks. You should try this place out %. Great beers and the Micheladas are amazing too. Clean place to enjoy your time with your family or by your self after a hard day of work.

Extremely slow service the waitress would not get off the phone salsas blan beans like soup fish and fries blan no flavor no flavor at all

Came here for my husband to try seafood since he loves it but was a bit disappointed. Hubby got the shrimp empanadas that were dry inside and plain. Just shrimp in it and said it was ok but he wouldn't order again. Hubby ordered the molcajete and said it was again ok, but salty. I ordered the cheese enchiladas with rice and beans and again flavor was ok, expected more from this place because the chips and salsa were delicious so bit disappointed overall. Price was...not worth it for us and we won't be back. The waitress was very nice though. Oh and the place is very hot inside and if you sit by the window in the back booth, you will feel all the heat from outside. Horrible.

Came twice when visiting w friends. Had the ceviche oysters & fish tacos both times so only applies to those items. The ceviche oysters: Excellent, fresh, clean taste. Ceviche nice tart lime citrus, shrimp were reasonable size (were probably blanched before hand though for you purests out there) Fish tacos - grilled! Love some grilled fish tacos. Nothing fancy just good food, good flavors. Nice clean location, good service. If you want fancy, "chef curated" then not your place. But if you want good food at reasonably priced. Then def give a try.

STAY - AWAY As a (used to be) regular customer; here are some bullet points from 6 years of experience. The short lady waitress was always attentive and did not take long with ordered drinks or food, but no longer here.Oysters: once in my whole time coming here I got an oyster with a worm. But the actual owner made it right buy giving us a different batch. (Pre-COVID)The new waiter (assuming it's the owners son / relative) is NOT attentive, disappears for 10-25 minutes before asking what you would like to eat. After he disappears again, you have to "ask" for chips and salsa now. The shrimp / fish ceviche is good with the green salsa. The lady who does the cooking is usually on point. The butterflied fish takes a long time to make and bring out: up to an hour wait. The shrimp empanadas: where good until recently. We ordered a dozen of them and got back empanadas that where over cooked, burnt, shrimp was rubbery, chewy, and lots of absorbed oil. As they where dark and NOT a golden brown. We kindly asked for another batch since the one they served was not acceptable. The waiter did say we make them the "same way". But, since we expressed our dislike we gave them a second chance to "improve" on "re-making" them. Guess what; we got the same (if not the same batch) of empanadas back, maybe a tab bit better than the last batch, but still unacceptable to consume. Turns out these are NOT fresh, but pre-made from the waiters response. That's what they tasted like... left overs that where put in a microwave to serve, in my opinion. Checking out: since they did attempt to "re-make them we asked for a discount on the empanadas only! bc we still wanted to pay partial for the left-over empanadas that we DID NOT eat, I mean come on! We're not A-holes. The waiter / owner son said sorry you re-ordered them so we have to pay. Did not try to make things right at all! Nor try to give us a resolution. All he expressed was "sorry but you have to pay in full. We lost 2 orders of empanadas." In my mind I was like then make them the right way the first time!If they treated us like this, and we where returning customers for YEARS on a weekly basis, you can forget about our patronage and look for somewhere else in Lake Elsinore to give our local support to. I still payed the full bill. But, a lesson learned to NOT return back. So local and visiting Foodies BEWARE!!! The owners reply wasn't to come up with a solution or a resolution to fix the issue at hand, which was a bad batch of empanadas. We had ordered these all the time, but something was not right about these. It was many times of coming here that led up to this review, it wasn't just because of what happened this last incident. If you care about "Customer Satisfaction" then why not reply with a solution or resolution? Instead you come here to save face and report of false reviews. We where willing to work along with a resolution on our end, it's not like we said we did not want to pay. The reason we came here was because it's a small business in the community. If no resolution can be had here, then I guess my experience as a review will remain.

This place did not disappoint. Like always, service was super friendly and the food was great!! Had the bistek ranchero plate and it was served hot freshly prepared. Sauce was on the spicy side so if that's not your thing you may want to tell them. Typical sides which were rice and beans. A little bit of chopped lettuce and a fresh tomato slice. All the fresh veggies tasted freshly sliced. No funky taste at all. Super crunchy and yummy. The meat was sliced perfectly and was nice and tender. It was stewed in a fresh red salsa full of flavor and again, HEAT. Served with a chile toreado. Look it up if you don't know what that is. I asked for flour tortillas but they brought me corn. Which did not bum me out at all because they were the fresh fluffy kind that are prepared in house. Over all I absolutely recommend this restaurant. They're known for Mariscos so I'm gonna try some seafood next time. Thank you mariscos Nayarit for the wonderful meal. Can't wait to come back and try some more!!!

Went in here excited to try the Baja fished tacos, but was disappointed it had no flavor The tacos had very little mayo We asked the server for water and a soda, that never came. She also forgot to bring my husbands tacos so when I told her we didn't want them anymore she said they were ready and that she was gonna bring them either way and would charge me for them. We didn't want to argue because she started getting defensive so we just left it like that. But it was a total disappointment

The food here is amazing this is my childhood go to place every time I visit I come here service is amazing Teresa was great friendly and very knowledgeable in her work. The food is the best in town Empanadas are a key to this restaurant you should definitely come eat here.

When I got home I expected my "PESCADO ZARANDEADO" to taste like what I had paid for. It looked delicious but no flavor it needed seasoning or at least salt. I should of just ordered the empanadas because for $30.00 a kilo of fish you are better off cooking for yourself last resort I guess the shrimp empanadas and Michelada!! Just my opinion.
